Very atmospheric narrative brought to life with great photography. This makes watching the presentation most enjoyable. Marks ability to hold the suspense in the story creates a very nice watchable video.
Superb investigation Mark. Your passion for history is inspiring. I feel so lucky to live in the Borders and to be surrounded by such a rich heritage. 🏴
@@MarkNicol123 in a way i sort of like it... its good highlighting these beautiful things but to make them popular objects to be gawped at seems wrong... you strike the ballance perfectly
Wow, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Fantastic narrative and imagery throughout. I was so pleased you found the stone too, 😂thank you for posting👏🏻
Awesome story about the forgotten history. We are relocating to the area and taking inspiration from your vlogs to get out and explore...this is right up there with the best documentaries....accessible, well researched, informative and fun.....bravo.👍
Hey Mark, I knew you guys drove on the wrong side of the road compared to the States but I noticed in your air shot you all drive backwards also...Stange..LOL
Adventure Awaits 😂😂😂 You’re the first person to comment on that ha ha!! Just thought shot looked better bringing the bridge in at the end so reversed it.😆😆
I heard about the battle but didn't know about the stone. Very cool. I'm sure I also read somewhere that Sir Walter Scott tried to buy Darnick tower but couldn't, so he settled for building his own house at Abbotsford.
Excellent video Mark, you produced some great atmosphere and your narrative was very intriguing and suspenseful. Your research is on equal par to the finished product, well researched and a delight to watch. The Turning stone added to my list of must visits, thanks so much for all you,do.
Great video as always, and a fantastic moment when you stumbled across the ancient standing stone 👌 I’m literally buzzing with excitement to move to the Borders soon, so much to see and exploring to be done. It’s people like you Mark that make RU-vid brilliant 👍😀
Mark Nicol yep hope so Mark, my wife Georgia chats to you on Facebook, and we’re planning to join you on one of your local walks when we are up 👍 🚶♂️ excited!
Mark, Great vid and story. Please can you give a grid for the stone? I've been everywhere else in the Borders worth seeing, I'd love to see that stone.
@@MarkNicol123 Many thanks Mark. I've watched most of your vids now. Still haven't seen one with the Battle of Halidon Hill, The Redeswire Raid or Philiphaugh. I don't know if you've covered these yet or they are future projects. Your vids are a fantastic effort and so enjoyable.
