Check out Hero History here - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hx8KBl3nAeY.html My friends and I will be posting many Marvel and DC comics related videos there, in the similar style as the Star Wars videos on this channel. Don't worry, the amount of Star Wars videos posted on here will remain the same!
StormTrooper 1: she's down alright what level setting did you have it on? StormTrooper 2: oh I usually have it on ten StormTrooper 1: That's enough to knock out a Bantha! Setting three is enough StormTrooper 2: what ever you say if she gets up and escapes it's your fault that the stun setting wasn't enough
@@bc64100 *you mean rebel terrorist "stun a rebel and skins him alive for fun"* Such statements, and then they demand that one sees the Empire or even the armed forces there more human. -(°_o)/¯
John Bower Actually they fucking destroy its just plot armor and when Luke was fleeing in ep IV they had orders not to kill him wich just shows their competence.
That was great, thank you. I saw Episode IV first run in the theaters when I was only six years old. From that early age on I was always fascinated by that opening firefight sequence and the rebel troops who fought in it. I really enjoyed learning more about their back stories in this video
This is why I play the 2005 battlefront 2, you actually get to board the tantive IV, to be fair though, it was nothing like episode 4, instead, there were thermal detonators and the ship was huge, still better than the ea version though
That young Stormtrooper had the right idea. Sympathizing with the enemy is the first step towards defection. Glad he came to his senses and remained loyal to the ever gracious Galactic Empire!
i Tqzy Because y'all take the shit way to seriously and try to act like Empire wasn't the tyrranical third-reich-on-steroids dictatorship it was intended be. Btw, there isn't anything civilized or orderly about genocide, subjugation and slavery of sentient beings, and destruction of entire planets. Feel free to keep deluding yourself though. Long live the Rebellion.
Clorox Bleach Still, stories of average troopers are pretty cool, especially when you find out they played roles in movies and stuff (no matter how small)
+The Lore Master Inferno Squad was great. One of the best books I've ever read, and got me hyped for EA Battlefront 2. Then they had to go and ruin the storyline of the game. But at least Inferno Squad gave us a good, truly Imperial story.
Barcod Noh Read „Allegiance“ by Timothy Zahn. Daric LaRone is a loyal Imperial (even though something happens for him to leave the Empire behind) that does not join the Rebels, but rather does what he thinks is right.
Since the Devastator seems to go straight to the Death Star, I imagine most surviving rebel crew members were transferred to detention blocks and perished when the station was destroyed.
They were destroyed, turrets scanned for life forms before blasting so as to make quick work of the pods that’s why the Officer said “don’t fire, they’re are no life forms aboard”
They say look there goes another one as if they've shot down a bunch and then the commander says hold your fire no life forms the board, kind of like hold on there Sparky you've had your fun for the day this isn't target practice. We're following orders but we've killed a bunch of high-ranking people attached and assigned to the Royal House of Alderaan, their ship is in Ruins and randomly launching buoys and pods, let this one malfunctioning pod go while we try to prepare reports, organize searches of the captured vessel and deal with what we've done here to cover our behinds not only with the emperor but the galactic Senate if it's discovered we were even at this Outer Rim planet and decide to have an investigation as to why we happen to be in orbit with the same ship that the heir to the Royal House of Alderaan died on as was the story they were going to send, that the ship was destroyed in All Aboard were killed including Princess Leia. All these guys careers and lives are on the line.
BladeRunner Yeah but if the Imperials could prove Bail's involvement as one of the Rebellion's leaders, presented that the Rebel troopers fought back even if Tantive IV was a consular ship, they can quickly turn public opinion against Alderaan. Even if say, the Alliance politicians try to downplay the damage to their reputation, they have the advantage of telling the truth
Hold on, hold on, hold on. 501st being Jango's wasn't just legends canon. It was official lucasarts canon. Shortly after the release of episode 3, the officially lucasarts game Star Wars BFII was released, and the single player campaign was told from the POV of the 501st, starting from the battle of Geonosis, up to the battle of Hoth.
I remember having the comic that was written in the perspective of the trooper who was shot by Leia. Literally one of the first I ever had. This and the Darth Maul comic that explains how he got his double bladed lightsaber
Is there any lore information on the guy who hides behind a doorway and actually manages to take out a Stormtrooper within the first few seconds of the battle in A New Hope? I want to know why he was the only Rebel who we see get a kill in the entire sequence
It is channels like this I have come to love and need for SW now. The last “movies” have so damaged my love for the franchise I need this to regain my humanity.
Stormtroopers should always use the stun setting since they can't hit anything otherwise. Stun setting has a wider beam. If they want them dead they should stun them first then set to kill.
I've known this since a little kid listening to the Story Record but especially the excellent NPR radio series that I encourage everyone to take a chance to listen to, it basically takes Star Wars with the original voices of Mark Hamill and Anthony Daniels and extends Star Wars into a 7-hour audio drama with all of the sound effects in a greatly fleshed-out story. Included in that story is how Princess Leia received the transmission of the Death Star plans and escaping Darth Vader, and even one episode of her life on Alderaan getting the mission from her father. *And the ship was always pronounced Tan-ta-vee-4* . It just rolls off the tongue, you have to think of the final E being pronounced like in many foreign words, "Chipotle", "agave" or "Padme" or "Zoe". In all canon books and also including Wikipedia it has been pronounced this way for the last 40 years, and it's like _nails on a chalkboard_ when someone tries to pronounce it phonetically in English when so many Star Wars words have very strange spellings like the planet Alderaan with its Double A's and Kashyyyk with its *triple* Y's! So Tantive 4 pronounce correctly just rolls right off the tongue and I strongly encourage again listening to the NPR radio series, they're available for free here on RU-vid, even if it's the first few episodes where you get to hear Princess Leia doing a previous Rebel Mission and then the harrowing scenes of them being chased by Darth Vader's star destroyer, and their surprise when it comes out of hyperspace behind them since it's impossible to track them to hyperspace unless there's a spy aboard. much more Mayhem on the ship, and a very frustrated and breathless Princess Leia as she runs around the corridors looking for way to get the plans out rather than her just kind of standing there seemingly in the middle of a battle, I'm stressed. The death of Captain Antilles is much more graphic, not to mention the torture of Princess Leia on the Death Star goes to extremes that I can't even describe here. They don't just close the door when the torture Droid comes in... You here deep-throated screams and Vader screaming at her in the using the force to pluck at her mind and imagine herself on fire... I'm not sure this was even made for children! Also some great great scenes of Luke and his buddies on Tatooine and him racing in Beggar's Canyon, expertly used original music , the sound effects and production are done really well that you can easily Envision it, and having the real voices of Luke and C3PO and others helps a lot and the sound effects for R 2 and Chewbacca Etc. Please give it a try!
i remember theres a comic about his sergeant (who also was the first to breach). His last sentence in the comic was: "and then the most beautiful women i've ever seen shot me right in the face".
OG battle front 2 tells it all. Those diplomatic mission crew had fucking rocket launcher. I saw 4 fellow troopers get blown apart right in front of him! Grenades automatic turrets sniper rifles automatic blaster rifles and semi automatic pistols. After counting the arms and bodies we found every crew member was heavly armed and the small number of troopers that we're readied to sieze the vessel for inspection we're outnumber and out gunned by ten times. "We have no weapons on Alderan". "We are on a diplomatic mission!". I begged to be on the team guarding that bitch when Vader tortured her. It was sweet candy to my ears and eyes and soul.
Marshall Bishop Ever heard of DEFENSE? The Empire tried to unlawfully seize their ship. “We have no weapons on Alderaan” can be a true statement, the Tantive IV is not Alderaan. Rocket launchers could be necessary for a space pirate attack/raid, etc.
Veronika Hornicseková You are strong and wise, and I am very proud of you. I have trained you in the ways of "Hello There" since you were a small boy and you have become a far greater Jedi than I could've ever imagined you would have been.
i remember reading this short story in the star wars tales comic book some years ago, i think its a great story, not drawn too good, but still i think this should have been made into a live action short of some kind
Being an ex-solider myself I can tell you that (Most) frontline infantry sgts are quite loved by their squad. Especially ones that have been together for a time. And no matter who you were or how cute, beautiful or hot a female terrorist was (which is what she was to them) they wouldn't generate even the Slightest iota of sympathy from Any squad Anywhere. Especially if the sergeant in question was in the thick of the fight right with his men. No. Sorry. Further more I'm sick of every Imperial that's either good at their job or decent having rebel sympathies. Sick of it man. That better not be how they end Thrawn's story arc.
Imperial Patriot: OPPRESSION ISN'T ORDER. The Galaxy is far better off without the Empire, delusion of order. Good to see you again Space Nazi how is life. 🙄
After the Death Star 2 exploded, Gary escaped along with a few other members of the Imperial remenants, eventually leading to the founding of the First Order. There, in light of his record, he was assigned to janitor on Starkiller base. After a series of incidents, he got bored and left his job to some new trooper who sort of seemed competent. Unfortunately for everyone involved, that trooper was Finn.
I never understood how the Rebels weren't able to hold off the Imperials for longer, considering that tiny choke point the Stormtroopers had to come through. They should've just set up a repeating blaster in the hall.
I've wondered that too. Obviously, the Stormtroopers would've overrun them eventually whether through numbers or through thermal detonators but the Rebels should've held them off for longer then they did and inflict heavier losses on the Imperials.
Joshuah Smith because it's right and has been for 40 years, you can check Wikipedia, there's a more extensive response to this question for the rep where in any Cannon spoken Source especially NPR's Star Wars series which I highly recommend, it has always been said that way and flows off the tongue so much easier. People were just pronouncing it the other way because they didn't know how. Please refer to the question asked above for additional details and sources.
It shouldn't. If you listen to the original NPR Official Radio Adaptation of the series from 1979, it is pronounced Tanta-vee Four. That has always been the correct pronunciation. Tan-TEEV is awful and incorrect. Old-school Star Wars fans know how to pronounce it.
Honestly I kind of want a VR experience where you play as one of the troopers and have to defend the princess or a video game where you play as Antilles in his final moments..
Since time in the Star Wars universe has passed onto the Resistance vs. the First Order, the Resistance seems to have some sort of an SJW ego in their cause. Because of that I would be happy if the First Order wins, where the old Empire has failed.
I love how in the movie the Stormtroopers just mop the Rebels while in Star Wars Battlefront 2 (the 2005 one) the Rebels just spam thermal detonators and it's a meatgrinder for the Empire.
