I like her story but holy shit there were so many things that just conveniently was there to help her, like the thing her dad gave her to deter force users, which makes zero sense that he’d have that in the first place. The plot armor is strong with her, although it’s also strong with a lot of other characters so it’s not that big a deal

I'm sorry, what do you expect a canon story to be like? I fail to see how this is self-insert fan fiction and more just writers putting Aphra through crazy scenarios that she was able to get through using her intelligence and wit. It should be a testament to her character because its one of the things I like about Aphra, she has gone through these crazy scenarios and somehow was able to survive every encounter ever.

@@HenryLouis21 My guy that's called plot armor. It's not entirely unreasonable for a character to outwit/escape vader once, or maybe even twice, but the amount of times she has, and in the ways she has, is simply just plot armor, and contradicts the power vader is supposed to have.

Maybe it's because its all summarized in a single video but this sounds like Star Wars fanfiction with Aphra being someone's self-insert. "Yeah, and after I saved the Emperor a THIRD time, I was declared Hero of the Empire and Vader was just like so mad but I managed to escape him AGAIN by tricking and defeating him."

Dr. Aphra is that character who got unexpectedly VERY popular and so instead of dying on time - the writers keep saving her in increasingly weird feats of plot armor.

The thing so many don't understand, no matter how evil Palpatine and Vader was, the empire actually made life in the galaxy better for many. They brought food , water, security, and education across the galaxy, and freed all slaves from empire space. As usual, the political and military leaders were corrupt, but the system actually benefits the normal people, much more then the senate and jedi did. Sad but true!

I like to imagine that in some planetary system on the other side of the Star Wars galaxy, while we're watching that horrific ep9, a wild Vietnam-war-like battle is going on. I wish we had more Star Wars Stories, like Rogue One but from an imperial perspective. Stormtrooper platoons braving the thick jungles and venomous hot weather, their white armor usually painted green and mud-brown by the troops to keep cool and camouflage, and their life of enduring the goopy MRE rations they get and scrounging for supplies, all the while trying to get the VCs- rebels, I mean. And of course, hover ships dropping napalm and Agent Orange and all the necessary activities.

Yeah, the biggest downfall of the Empire is that they always demanded impossible results which would then require the most ruthless and brutal tactics. Part of this video shows that the Empire came and saved the young girl from the bandits, which makes the Empire look good. However, you later learn the empire itself PUT the bandits there to force the settlers to need protection and thus make the empire's take over of the world smoother.

The Empire commits genocide to species like Geonosians and Lasats, anniquilates planets (with all people, plants, culture and animals) like Alderaan or Mandalore and slaved others like the wookies. In Rebels, Bad Batch and other shows we see that there still poverty, even more and ridiculous norms like curfews and privaty invasions. I don't see any of that positive. It's only the same old fascim.

"and her knowledge of archaeology" How the hell does that explain snaking past the Emperors without being sensed? "and tech comes from her studies and her parents teaching her these things over many years." Which does not justify her not only outsmarting Vader but not instantly getting choked to death and somehow beating him because the writers wanted to give their pet character a win.
