I was born in Worcester and these Civil War stories captivated me as a child. I climbed the cathedral tower (with some dread) and surveyed my home in St. John's. I returned to Worcester in my late teens as a projectionist at the Odeon, and vividly remember sitting in Fort Royal early one frosty morning, alone and contemplating the awful slaughter that happened around me. Apparently I used to be taken by pram to Powick Bridge to feed the ducks! I remember the local churches with their defaced statuary (idolatry?) and my young mind was shocked that anyone could do this to a church. I would love to visit Worcester again before my time is up, but I don't know anyone there now. My best friend took his life there. Thank you for such a concise and well-filmed video, much appreciated.
Thank you for a nice concise summary of The Battle of Worcester. Significant how the English Civil War began and finished at Worcester. I plan to move to Worcestershire and visit Worcester again often. I have subscribed 🙂
