Honestly, I both loved and hated this season. Loved because of the closeness of competition and great racing, rookies doing well and the madness of a constantly changing championship picture, while hated because sometimes that closeness felt somewhat artificial; contrived by the qualifying format, and it was all a lottery at points, it just felt too random. Plus the bad blood generated by the first Valencia race and the first Puebla race in particular.

They've had the same qualifying format forever though? I don't understand the criticism for a format that was so highly praised barely 2 years ago. Did they change it since?

@@SurrealCereal The format of having four groups has always been around but the devil is in the detail. Originally the qualifying groups were drawn at random, so anyone could end up anywhere. This was regarded as unfair so was changed for the Gen 2 era to what we have now, i.e. championship order. Honestly, I think there have been more complaints at this format than the previous one!

Like, I love a good multi horse race like F1 2010 with 4 drivers in contention or WRC 2003 with Burns Loeb Solberg Gronholm Martin and Sainz all in the running, but *13* is just way too much. 5 is the maximum for a good multi horse race. But no one writes a script so we can't exactly tell them what to do lol

@@maximkadivnik8078 if i rembember it correctly the saudi arabian prince was in Diriyah to watch the FE race and i some terror group shot rockets to the town for an attack. But the defense system of the saudi arabian military blocked it. Like they did in Israel.

Few things that would make FE better in my opinion, More strict penalty’s for corner cutting and collisions. More freedom for teams to create their car. Get rit of the “boosts” (especially fan boost). Edit: other then that this season was amazing!

Too much freedom would turn it into a boring series because the cars won't be super close and competitive, it's only really the aero and batteries that are spec anyway and that's enough to keep it close and competitive. Fan boost should be dropped I agree but attack mode is fantastic and again creates action and although corner-cutting is quite difficult on a street track, so I'm not sure why you say that, collisions need to be a little stricter not too much though.

I agree and also disagree with you, yes ut probably wont be as close but thr vehicles would”evolve” much more quickly which would make the races better imo, and the attack mode can be good but imo it hives a bit too much of a video game vibe then actual racing. Edit: and yes the corner cutting doesnt happen alot indeed but the collisions is my main focus there

What a fantastic season never fails to disappoint and even without BMW (as full manufacture but still supplying equipment to Andretti who are continuing on), Audi and Mercedes next year (hopefully only as a manufacturer) this series is still gonna be one of the best in the world!

It’s so easy to love this category. This may well go down in history (at least in terms of parity) as the greatest Motorsport season ever. What other category has 9 different race winners in the first 10 races and 11 different winners over a 15 race season?! It is so refreshing to go into a race weekend and have 10 or 12 drivers legitimately in the hunt to win on merit, and that’s with team loyalty through different power train manufacturers! Formula 1, take note. This is what makes an exciting season of racing. Even Monaco is full of wheel-to-wheel action!

Besides did you see how many overtakes there were at Monte Carlo, a track known for not being able to pass in F1 cars. FE make the street racing work. ⚡⚡⚡

That was awesome season, I really enjoyed because racing was amazing and there were sooo much emotions. But after all I'm sad for both Jaguar drivers, especially for Mitch. I hope he will show his best next season and he will be second Formula E World Champion.

The title of this video is true the season was really thrilling & unpredictable chaos in every race and lots of wins for the new rookies incredible season, the most exciting season on the planet history is made it, Mercedes first Fe Double title in only 2nd season, Edo incredible overtake, Da costa stunning Monaco win, Lynn awesome comeback after horror crash & Dennis awesome rookie season + Audi goodbye with 1-2 win & 1-2 on the finale race, Techeetah Action & Venturi power, season 8 is coming the title fight Will be exciting 🤩🍾🏆🏎️👍👑

This season produced the most number of race winners. DS Techeetah's Jean-Eric Vergne and Antonio Felix Da Costa, Mercedes EQ's Stoffel Vandoorne and Nyck De Vries, Venturi Mercedes EQ's Edoardo Mortara and Norman Nato, BMW's Jake Dennis and Maximillian Guenther, Jaguar's Sam Bird, Mahindra's Alex Lynn, and Audi Sport's Lucas Di Grassi. Season 5 8 different winners. Season 7, 11 different race winners. What a way to sum up the season.

No argument why De Vries shouldn't go to Formula 1. He has consistently been the best driver this season, many times he bent his steering wheel during races and still managed to finish on the podium. I think De Vries to F1 will finally put FE in a good spotlight and will finally make the organizers of the sport realise they need to take out that fan boost BS.

He is a nice guy but lacks outright speed to ever be able to content for the top places/seats in F1. You have to be honest here. He is better than your average driver but compared to the F1 field he would be 15th quickest or thereabouts.

In that season there are 2 permanent circuits (valencia and puebla).

they need to be stricter with the punishments for drivers who are idiots and divebomb and punt people out the way or squeeze into the wall others. The likes of Lotterer, Buemi, Rowland, Di Grassi always ruining other drivers' races with their ridiculous divebombs that were never gonna work or squeeze them till they hit the wall. Plus maybe tweak qualifying so that its less based on luck with the groupings and more on the true pace of the car & driver

The series status got upgraded from Formula E Championship to Formula E World Championship. I can’t remember what the requirement was but there was some requirement they weren’t meeting until season 7.

Basically, because FE has had at least 4 constructor teams and races on at least 3 continents since the 2015-16 season it meets the FIA requirements to be considered a World Championship. F1 is the only other FIA sanctioned single seat WC.
