In April 1961, under authorization by President John F. Kennedy, Brigade 2506 took part in the infamous Bay of Pigs invasion. Their mission, financed and coordinated by Washington, was to depose dictator Fidel Castro, install a new, Western-friendly regime in Havana, and, ultimately, deal a crushing blow to America’s Cold War adversaries - namely, the Soviet Union, with which Castro was closely aligned ... It did not go as planned.

The lack of airsupport cost the brigade their supplies, the Cuban Government was pulling back to Havana before they realized the attack had stalled after sinking the supply ship. They basically ran out of ammo and were abandoned.

South Africa was a strategic alliance for USA against Russia, Cuba’s big brother. Cubans and South Africans fighting was 100% pawns for USA vs Russia. There was nothing ideological about it, just like USA currently forcing half a million Ukrainians to die for “America’s” interests and packaged to us as some noble cause. Russians manipulated Cubans but not nearly to the extent that the CIA has manipulated EVERYONE

Cuba was under heavy sanctions and tariffs from around the world due to American and European influence. So instead of just taking the reparation money and lining their own pockets the Cuban government instead asked for food for children.

@@ABanRocks Eisenhower had experience as a 5-star general of the U.S. Army; he wasn't a tactical idiot like JFK, who did very little to support the invasion. JFK should not have switched it from Trinidad to the Bay of Pigs. Typical inept leftist American leader. Instead of covertly sending Cuban immigrants to their inexorable demise, JFK should have owned the invasion and fully supported it with American naval and aerial power. He sacrificed the lives of the Cuban exiles who had been trained by Americans and had been prepared for an invasion of Cuba. In the end, JFK was responsible for the failure of the invasion and the deaths of many Cuban men. Keep in mind that it was the CIA that had recruited anti-Castro Cuban exiles in the Miami area.

I wish this never happened. I wish JFK got his full 2 terms. Im only going to be 24 this year and maybe i am wrong but i cant help but feel like this. To me JFK was such a big figure and so iconic. I cant help but wish he got his 2nd term and was able to live out afterwards. His assassination in office is such a strange thing to me. We arent even given an explanation for it. Is that not strange to anybody else? Sure weve been told Lee Harvey Oswald killed him but come on really? There is a much greater reason for that we havent been told and theyve held out on telling even a younger generation such as myself. Theres so many truths and lies now. Lies that are to be taken as truths and truths told as lies. What are we to do?

What happened is that we had a Harvard educated President who had lots of experience with panty raids but no experience with this type of a raid. And his balls were only programed for panty raids. Beyond that, he had verbally been making a fool of the person who did have the experience. And we have been paying a very high price for that failure ever since. And the Cuban population an even higher price.
