This is amazing footage showing how much the British fans loved Pet Sounds while it did not do nearly as well in the U.S. If Brian had been on this tour he would have seen this adulation... maybe his years that followed would have been happier.
I'm so glad the Beach Boys came over here in the UK love them all I'm a newbie to the Beach Boys and Brian Wilson I'm getting the album Pet Sounds and Smile album
I'm glad the Beach Boys came to the UK if Pet Sounds didn't arrive in the UK we wouldn't have heard of Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys I'm now a convert to Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys I'm 46 years old and love The Beach Boys and Brian Wilson
I am SO old! Ny best friend and I were among those excited British teens who went to Heathrow to welcome the Beach Boys to the UK in 1966. I recall we were shocked at how unhip their clothes looked, def not at all Carnaby Sreet. They dressed like our dads.
@@impalaman9707Mike has a very long and colorful history of fashion faux-pa’s. This look here was the least of his crimes against fashion. Check out their 1969 Beat Club appearance (playing “Breakaway”) some time. That was Mike’s ‘cult leader’ phase.
@@Shikta-poobah67 Yeah, I know. He was trying to be a fair haired Yogi with the long beard and flowing robe. He looked silly trying to sing :Surfin USA" with that get up!😂🤣🤣
Great footage, but the way the songs are cut is a bit awkward, and using the stereo versions is somewhat strange seeing as while they sound good, they are obviously different from the original, "main", mono versions of the songs. There's a 2012 mono remaster that sounds great though. Sorry for the run-on sentence too.
