The Beast at Kings Island in Mason, OH.
Since its debut in 1979, The Beast is still one of the largest wooden roller coasters ever constructed, and holds the world record in length on a wooden coaster. Designed by Al Collins and Jeff Gramke and built by Charles Dinn, The Beast races through the woods across 7,361 ft of track at a top speed of 64 mph. The first lift stands 110 ft tall with a 135 ft drop into the first of many tunnels. The second lift stands 141 ft tall and ends with an intense helix finale. NAPHA spotlights Kings Island for maintaining The Beast, the world’s longest wooden roller coaster and still the park’s signature attraction!
