yeah he does that bikes pretty heavy and with a full tank of fuel as well. this guy rips this bike, I own a 2002 kx500 and hope to learn how to ride it like this guy.

I'm lucky to have my '04 still in the shed only 45 hours from new. Full factory spare spares kit still in the box. The shop gave it to me when I bought the bike new. I had a couple of toots from the traffic taking a brand new KX500 home on the trailer back in '04. Good memories, glad I've still got it...

i agree,i miss mine also i bought the KX500 in 1989 brand new and i've rode all kinds of dirt bike/street bike raced at Pocono and Louden modified production and formula 1 road racing style on a Z1 but when it comes to dirt this bike is what i called a out of control chain saw the only way to slow this bike down was using the rear brake to slow down the engine it was so nasty i went out and bought the KX250 just so i could have more friends keep up with me,i miss this bike and im currently in the market to score one,not easily found but there out there,nice video brother and yes the guy does handle it well.I'll never forget the Cycle magazine test on this bike had article on the 1989 and it said top speed on this bike was 112 mph i new i immediately had to have one........

In 2003 I bought a 2001 KX 500. I was 25 years old and rode the piss out of that thing for a few years and then sold it for $1000 cuz I had a kid. I loved that bike. This video put a lump in my throat when I saw how happy this kid was to thrash around on the beast. Now I ride a 200 hp VMAX. I guess riding a beast never got out of my blood.

I used to own a KX500 1983 model. The thing was such a beast and great fun to ride. It had so much grunt, you could be a gear or two higher in corners, yet it still pulled like a tractor. Especially good in sand. Miss that bike.

Bob Bobby slow? lol maybe they ride it slow but flat out the 500 will edge out a 450 with the right gearing.

GreenCR21 yea I always thought so but I never see anyone ripping it like this. In other videos It always seems like they aren't going to fast, which has annoyed me for a while because I've been waiting to see someone really rip a 500

Bob Bobby i just got a kx500 recently. bike i had before that was an old 180 2 stroke so its my second bike lmao dumb purchase. but yeah its honestly insane. even experienced riders get worn out riding them on motorcross tracks. with some tall gearing they can hit 110-120. some people port them and make even more power.

Bob Bobby they probably arent going fast because they are scared shitless. i mean..60-65hp on a 220 pound bike with a POWERBAND that can hit hard.. around the same power to weight ratio as a 600cc supersport.

When I bought my 500 and hopped on it I was surprised to find the weight and chassis feels just like a 250

Cody Jones KTM's 300cc makes more power and torque than the old 500's. Weighs less and burns a lot less fuel, to.

mary and chris dougherty-Young The new 300's are making around 58 hp from the factory. Of course, if you apply the same mods like re jetting, full exhaust and air box, the 300's can push 64hp. Add a stroker kit, good Reed valve and bigger carb, as well as porting, and you're easily looking at 72hp. That said, the 300 will still be a lighter bike and better on fuel than the old 500's. Even so, the stock 58hp is more than any mortal man could make full use of.

Im 41 years old im from hickory north carolina and i had a 89 kx 500. I use to race the kx 125 on a small track that used to be here close to me. I like the cr as well but im a kx fan. when i seen your video it just brought back so many memories. I dont ride much any more because my knees are in bad shape. I have a 2001 xr 650 now that i just pleasure ride now. Im 70% disable combat vet so im home alot now and i watch your video almost everyday. It brings a smile to my face and chills to my soul.
