The Beastmen Hordes on CATACLYSM - Vermintide 2 Winds of Magic DLC Gameplay

As you'd expect, there's a lot of Armor to deal with, and Bestigors have crazy tracking on their charge, which can lead to problems when you cant see them coming in the middle of a horde. Hordes are huge and frequent, with a lot more marauders and shields and by extension a lot more effective HP, which means chunking through them takes a long time, and can slow your progression through a level by quite a bit. Pace is really important, so in between those hordes you need to haul ass or you might get worn down by attrition. For this run we had a lot of horde control between Witch Hunter Captain and Foot Knight, and potion drops from the Dwarf ranger, so if you've got those resources at your disposal, dont be afraid to use them! Conc Pot to keep a horde stunlocked with Foot Knight charge is 100% worth it, especially in situations like 13:25 where you're threatened by being overrun

Beastmen hordes more like beastmen clique. Hope they add more to the beta soon

Not very many beastmen here, but perhaps that's because it's more of a city interior and a norscan boss. Hopefully we'll see more beastmen running around outside

Only groups of 3 or 4 beastmen, I actually expected more than just this.

Just imagine if the total war bestigors had 110 speed charging attacks.

good old foot knight + Halberd, my go to combo for 155 levels with him. I use repeater rifle though. looking forward to trying the new spear though

It seems like they added more mobs with shields, which may make shield breaking weapons more relevant. Interesting.. won't be able to cleave spam hordes as much. I mean you will, it'll just take longer. Weapons without a form of shield breaking, however.. both new spears, halberd, one handed sword.. most of the dlc weapons. I'm kinda interested to see the two handed sword on mercenary with cleave power on cataclysm. Looks great! Look forward to seeing you again in QP pubs at some point after winds of magic releases!

I honestly wish the beastmen were exclusive to the new maps and upcoming maps And the combat looks a lot slower and it seems that we will be a lot weaker I don’t think anyone asked for the WHOLE combat system to be reworked All we wanted was new maps and a new diffficult

Have to ask are the levels reset at 30? I much like a lot of other players have got characters that are level 30 (+) and I'd rather that they took from the overflow than have my levels stripped off of me and have to do it again, would sort of make all of those (+levels) pointless

I swear i see so much more Abaddon style ponytails on the Chaos Warriors than there used to be.

So beastmen are just swarm of angry enemy krubers. Wimpy krubers with halberds, couple of axemen, a few random archers and chad foot knights that charge around like lunatics picking some random targets. But they look kinda scarce tho. I wish they had their own maps like skaven and norscans do. Maybe athel yenlui or monolith one. Beastguys do like forests and swamps I like the new difficulty tho. Thats a bit closer to what i've been expecting after seening vermintide trailers :D

GG guys! Now we'll need some real tutorials for team composition for Cataclysm and characters guides, because without best possible build and (like you mentioned) tactical approach with roles it's really hard to handle hordes. Or I'm wrong and simply horde horn is signal to look for defense spot and everyone gathers together to survive and even random roles, off-meta weapons can handle Cataclysm? I still 've those habbits of pushing forwand from playing so much Legend with players killing everything so fast, it becomes fight over kills, otherwise you're left with running behind rushers.

How long do you think it will be until there are successful solo cataclysm runs?

Watching this I'm going to save up to buy this game.....I just wish I could play as the bad guys. Charging as a Bestigor would make for some fun play. A Bestigor, a Chaos Warrior, an Eshin Assassin, a Chaos Dwarf, a Norscan Shaman, a Fimir, an Orc or goblin, even a specific Dark Elf character. The Norscan Shaman can double as a skin wolf. The issue is, how to write a story where those characters would form a cohesive team.

Why would the BM be fighting with the other two races? It doesn't add up with the story although they are all chaos creatures.

Why does it seem like you take so little damage? You'll lose just slivers of health when a chaos warrior hits you where as my maxed out toon gets bumped by a skaven slave I'll lose 1/5 of my health.

I wish the Beastmen were more separated. Like a bunch of drakwald levels with only Beastmen. It just seems really out of place to see chaos warriors, skaven,and Beastmen all mixed togeather.

Really wish this game ran smoother, really sad I can't play this. Also, awesome stuff, would love to see more dwarf gameplay.

My big question is will Winds Of Magic DLC be free or have to be bought like the others. I think their way of doing expansions hurts the good things about the game imo.

From what I understand from those taking part in the beta, Cataclysm has already been nerfed significantly since this video went up. On one hand, I am extremely disappointed that, so many years into Vermintide, the majority of the player base is still comprised of moaning crybabies. Heroes of the End Times my bum. On the other hand, this footage becomes all the more valuable. Never again will we hear The Legend of Valiant Sir Indy, Sunderer of Shield Hordes.
