@@awesomejacob8345 like at the beginning when ringo mentions that he knows a place thats big and empty and paul says "but how would we all fit inside your head" implying that his head is empty and he is therefore not smart. which is a bit harsh.
Someone just had it out for everyone. John looks too fat,George's chin can cut vegetables,Paul looks like he took too many substances and Ringo looks like he was born upside-down
I want to be a pirate A pirate's life for me All my friends are pirates And sail the B.B.C I've got a Jolly Roger It's black and white and vast Get out of your Skull and Crossbones And I'll run it up your mast
I thought so too. Turns out John and George here were voiced by Paul Frees, the exact same voice actor who did Burgermeister Meisterburger, Kubla Kraus, Jack Frost (the villainous version from Frosty) among many other Rankin-Bass characters. He did a ton of voice acting.
This is unrelated to the comment, but It always bugged me a little that they portrayed him as having small eyes. The big nose, I can understand because let’s be honest, the real Ringo has a big nose. But he did not have small eyes. If anything he had what I call “anime eyes” as in he had big, kinda twinkly eyes.
@@TheMadcap919I think that was done to accentuate how large his nose is. It also gives the character a bit of a dopey look. I personally like it, even if it wasn’t the most accurate portrayal of him.
It's very similar to the voice Paul Frees used for Inspector Fenwick in "Dudley Do-Right," Chief Double-Q in "Secret Squirrel," and Ape in "George of the Jungle." I can spot his voices pretty easily.
Paul Frees was an expert at doing "English" accented voices {listen for his Eric Blore impression as "Inspector Fenwick" in the "Dudley Do-Right" cartoons}. He was a "Renaissance man" in doing voices and narration (only Mel Blanc was his equal). He was told not to make "John" and "George" sound TOO "British".
Would it have been so hard to get English voice actors? Surely everyone knows the Beatles didn't sound like this. They were lower-middle class Liverpudlians. John Lennon was not posh.
Wow. I remembered watching these as a kid in the 1960's. They were cute but it would have been better if the actual voices of the Beatles were used. The rest of the cartoons also.
@@flamingpi2245 Yeah, while Paul Frees was such a great voice actor, his voices for John and George didn't match that much. His voice for John was basically the same voice he used for Inspector Fenwick in "Dudley Do-Right" and Chief Double-Q in "Secret Squirrel," and for George he used a weird vague Peter Lorre-esque voice (sort of like Morocco Mole from "Secret Squirrel".)
So glad that Al Brodax made these cartoons, 39 in all. Cashing in on the success of the great band and their characters. All good fun and capturing the 60's and something we'll never see again. Wonderful time for cartoons, films, culture, styles and music.
I'm not surprised why I love the Beatles so much. My dad always played the music when I was younger, I had these CD mixes of their best songs I'd always play in my DVD player, and I remember loving this show.
even though the beatles (from what i've read) don't like these cartoons, i hope they get a dvd release. maybe for next christmas. that would be a christmas miracle.
Paul Frees is using a voice similar to his Inspector Fenwick voice for John Lennon, and a weird vaguely Peter Lorre-esque voice for George Harrison. His voices are so distinctive to me, as he was practically EVERYWHERE in West Coast animation during the 1950s and 1960s.
I like to imagine that Ringo may have gotten the inspiration for Octopus’s Garden from the second section of the episode, which means he’s seen this cartoon. I just love the idea of the real band getting together and laughing their asses off knowing this is how people think they act.
@@pinklikefloydthebarber9596 Aaah! I like seeing someone who has one of the Beatles as their picture. Three weeks ago, I actually began listening and watching things that are Beatles related. Even hearing Mark David Chapman's interview after got arrested for killing John. I even saw a video where many John Lennon and Beatles fans were protesting to not let Mark out. My favorite Beatles songs are Help, A Hard Day's Night, Come Together, and Boys.
@@lisettegarcia7013 cool! i started listening to Beatles in march of this year and i'm crazy about everything related to them haha my favourite songs are come together, a day in the life, within you without you, savoy truffle and hey jude (sorry if i did any mistakes, i'm from russia and just learning english)
@@pinklikefloydthebarber9596 it's okay. We can't all be perfect. I even make typos or forget some words in my comments. I actually have a question for you: What is your opinion on Ms. Yoko Ono? Do you think she is responsible for breaking up the Beatles or no?
god bless them they had never herd a liverpool voice in there lives. feel who ever did johns voice did not even try to pick up how he spoke. feel they almost thought the beatle's were Irish .
I was five years old in 1965, when I first became acquainted with the Beatles, cartoons, and music. This show was the medium transferring those entertainments to me. That's how my psychology was formed. Thank you, Beatles.
When the Beatles cartoons used to come on 📺 I was just a teenager when the Beatles cartoons came on this channel 44 way back in the day when I was a teenager
There is an episode where I think Paul falls in love with a Japanese woman. I have to see it again, it will blow your mind. Either this guy was a psychic? Or this episode was written when John first met Yoko. I watched it a few years ago and it’s pretty freaky. I know it’s Paul but in this episode the way falls in love with her, is so much like John and Yoko. I think she even has a screeching cat voice?
I'm glad I have most of these on DVD. It sucks that they have to be muted here for copyright reasons. Makes it hard for those who never got to see them when first aired (like I did... Yes I'm that old) and am glad I can play the DVD's to remember that time in my life.
It's a shame that we can't hear the music, but enyways i really like the episode. Pd: Sorry if I have any spelling mistake, I am still learning english
