We had dance parties back then. It was the Beatles, DC5, Stones, Animals etc. Great, innocent, fun times.

'Glad all over' knocked I Want to Hold your Hand" off the top of the UK Charts, not Billboard (US), where it got top # 6. I get worried when a video starts off with a key fact wrong. The Beatles had held the # 1 spot in the UK for 14 weeks prior to this with She Loves You, followed by I Want to Hold your Hand'.

"She Loves You" (Beatles) Dethroned "Hand" on all U.S charts. Not "Glad All Over" which only reached No 6. `Yellow Submarine` is totally in error! The only US chart topper DC5 ever attained was "Over and Over" Xmas 1965.

In the UK Glad All Over knocked the Beatles off the Billboard charts and held the number one spot . There wasn't really any rivalry until the DC5 hit the states as far your definition of rivalry. Paul Mccartney said he was an admirer of the DC5. That's good enough for me.

Lot's of BS here.....It's unlikely that anyone except Mike Smith wrote "Glad All Over" "I Want To Hold Your Hand"....gave rebirth to Beatlemania ? When Did It Die ?

Dave Clark deserves immense credit for propelling his band to the forefront leadership of the British Invasion of America! The Dave Clark Five and The Beatles were the 2 giant bands the led the British Invasion. The Rolling Stones, Herman's Hermit's, The Who, The Animals, Searchers, and so forth, all trailed the Beatles & The DC5. Also, there's a certain Mr Ryan who had legally relinquished his writing credits via a deal with Dave Clark. Ryan made the deal with Mr Clark. However it seems in the last few years that Ryan has endlessly complained, whined and cried to anyone and everyone that he is not credited with songs he purportedly wrote but are credited to Dave Clark. Mr Clark has the legal right to claim writing credits to the songs. Fans of the many Dave Clark Five fan groups throughout the internet are quite tired of hearing Mr Ryan's whining and crying over any deal he made with Mr Clark.

Every no.1 hit gets knocked off. Always! It's the way of the world and it's really means nothing except that time marches on.Also, if you'd slow down and take a breath perhaps you wouldn't stubble over the pronunciation of "Can't You See That She's Mine".

@@jhaduvala truth hurts doesn't it? The Beatles imploded and after years of crummy music, they parted ways. Dave Clark simply just quit with no fanfare, no scandal and were superior to the Beatles as far as showmanship and good business practices. If Dave had come to the US when Sullivan asked him if he'd do the Sullivan Show, the Beatles would just be another British group. Dave Clark was asked before the Beatles but declined because he didn't know who Sullivan was. The show didn't air in England. The DC5 were the best of any of the British groups.

Dave Clark's style on the drums made the DC5 better than the Beatles, much better than Ringo Star. The Bealtes had a string of hits, but so did the DC5 and DC5 music made people happy. One of the best was "Because".

"The Beatles had a String of Hits"...Spoken like someone who's been living under a rock for 50 years!!! Please...do me a favor and Name the DC5 songs that were Better than the Beatles Ringo songs??? As for Ringo vs Dave Clark...Ringo was/is a better Drummer than Dave C. The DC5 couldn't even play "LIVE" on all the Ed Sullivan Shows! Just rewatch the Beatles live in Washington DC video! Ringo was on Fire!!! Dave Clark probably couldn't play I Feel Fine, Help, What Goes On (Shuffle Beat while Singing), Rain, A Day In The Life, Something, She Said She Said, The End and many others... I'm a Drummer and I've played the DC5 stuff...it's All simple drumming. But Ringo playing is so different on the mentioned songs above, and many more.
