I actually feel a little sorry for everyone who wasn't there to experience the world actually change when the Beatles came on scene. The only down side is damn, I'm getting old.
@@alfching2499I know what you mean. I’m 80 now and still listening. I was 19 when I first heard them and hooked immediately. Played guitar and they were different than anything I had ever heard.
I totally agree, but IMHO, the tail end climax of George’s solo was also unfortunately kind of buried in the process. At least for me. But that vocal choir is indeed… stunning. Wow. These remixes are fantastic! Thanks for all your hard work, I’m sure. Subscribing right now.
I'd say it was a plus to bring them up but it was a bit too much. They overwhelmed the solo at the end. Maybe recalibrate? The guitar riff totally rang out in this version!
It don’t say much for the currant or future music scene if The Beatles from the 60s are constantly grabbing the attention of new generations.Phenomenal as they used to say back then
Heard all these songs when young didnt think too much about them it was the beatles we were used to hearing them in the uk its not till years later you say wow ❤❤❤❤
The most gifted group in the history, bar none! I thank my lucky stars to have been part of the generation that still venerates them. Thank you Britt200 for the youtube upload.
And if you had the original vinyl you remembered a spot in the song that the audio would just drop out! I think on the right channel- after the bridge and return to verse on: "tried to please her," A studio blunder that subsequent CD releases and beyond would 'correct'!
The best Rock Band ever to assemble....the Beatles. When this song came out we girls and young women were all wearing our white Go Go boots in California (high fashion back in the sixties). Great memories.
What are you, mister? The nostalgia nazi? It's a lovely memory for her to the exuberance of the moment. I mean what TF do you expect in a YT comment? A 6-volume history of the 60s? What sadistic, miserable idiot you must be. You go, Go-Go Girl!
Guitars are more forward and ringing; vocals more present. The biggest change for vocals is how out front they are in the rising solo section. Typically they have been buried back in the mix so the guitar was more emphasized. I would have said to maybe bring the guitar up a bit and the vocals too, but not nearly as much as he did. It's such a great song so I don't care about these details in the end. High art from the lads!
As one who hates this sort of mucking around with altering original vintage video clips, your tasteful judicious use of creative imagery is just outstanding! Not to mention the great job you do with your stereo remixing. Really enjoying these! Thanks. Beatles fan here since 1964.
My life changed after seeing THE BEATLES on our local TV program in Kirkby, Liverpool when I was nearly 13yrs old...I was totally “blown away” listening to ..Love me do...for the very first time!...and they made me feel happy through my teenage years...I caught “Beatlemania” and I’ve never wanted a cure...👍🏻
There are so many things to marvel at when listening and watching these guys. I've been listening to them since 1964. Until the advent of the internet, I mostly listened to them, as we all, who grew up with them, did. When the internet started I was afraid I would get overloaded with them but I haven't and once I hear one of their songs start I can't walk away until it's finished.... and that's after hearing them for 60 years. Go Figure. One of the many things I marvel at when I watch them is how utterly at ease they all are playing together. So at ease that they can actually joke a bit and smile and enjoy being with each other. This video is all little snippets of their promo films which are all lip synced but when you watch them actually playing live like during a concert or playing live during a TV show like Ed Sullivan they're exactly the same. They're having the time of their lives. So, with songs that are just totally memorable, add to that they abject joy and it's no wonder they took over the world. I was there and it wasn't just young people. Older folks loved them as well. No one could look away. There's always been something miraculous about them.
Anyone who has ever tried to double track a guitar part should appreciate how precisely George plays his part twice. There was no software to create a perfect match back then!
I'm a die-hard Beatles fan; forever will be and remember watching them debut on the Ed Sullivan Show and I still get a thrill watching them and singing along with them. Ringo is my fave!!
Your remix on all these Beatles tracks is fantastic, it’s brought these song back to life, I wish I could have them all on vinyl. Great video editing also, you’re extremely talented, thank you for your work it’s truly appreciated… Paul
If you listen CLOSELY to the main guitar RIFF, George misses a note right after the line "tried to please her'' in the ORIGINAL recording. It's still present in the 1987 CD mix, but was later DIGITALLY CORRECTED. The version presented here is the CORRECTED later mix. Just a little known tidbit fact. But this version STILL SOUNDS FABULOUS!!! Thanks so much for this!! Keep up the good work!!
If you listen to the production value, the structure, The doubling of vocals, guitars, the sound of Ringo's snare drum playing and sound , Paul and John in their vocal best its really terrific after all these years! Oh and.... Great Job Britt!!
This song transends 1964 along with the arrival of the greatest rock n roll band in the world❤ but to better understand and appreciate the Beatles you'd have to go back in time realize what was happening in America. Beatles historic arrival in Jan. 1964 on the Ed Sullivan show was watched by over 73 million people. It was said during their music set not a single crime was committed world wide. Even the criminals took some time off to catch a glimpse of the worlds newest music sensation , The Beatles. To clearly better understand and appreciate the Mop Top from Liverpool you have to realize that during the late 50's early 60's the music industry was very much an assembly line where someone wrote a song, someone else sang the song while other musicians played the instruments. Beatles came on to the scene and did it all themselves. Wrote, sang and played their own instruments and with a new look and sound took the world by storm. To write a song is an effort. To write a song that becomes a hit, you have talent. To write a song that becomes number one, you're on top of the charts. To hold the top five songs all in a row on billboards hot 100 songs of April 1964, you're on top of the world. It is highly possible that no other group of four young men will ever assemble together and recreate the same excitement and hysteria the way the Beatles did for the music industry. They single handedly revolutionized and changed the world. For those who were too young or not even born yet, im sorry you missed it. For those of us who were physically there to experience Beatlemania, wasn't life GRAND? Thank you John Paul George and Ringo. A special shout out to Pete Best for his early and very much important contributions. You are not forgotten. BEATLES FOREVER ❤
Spot on. But it’s even crazier when you consider that only 10 years prior Elvis recorded That’s Alright Mama. In ‘54 Elvis kicked the door in, and the Beatles came in very soon after and created absolute brilliance.
It's a great contribution from you. I never tire of listening to it, the clarity and detail of the voices and instruments is wonderful. Thanks britt200
If the second guitar is slightly out of tune, the sound gets wide just like the opening riff here! but this new mix is terrific as Britt had all the parts to play with after "unlocking" them!
It was just like seeing John Lennon, here with us again. Thank You, so much for that. We miss Him, so much. Thank God, for the Blessings. For giving us John Lennon, and the Beatles.
Like, WOW! What a fantastic video! I was fourteen when the song came out in December, 1965 and it rocked. Rubber Soul was released the same day. A great Christmas!
Of course I'm a Beatle fan, but my favorite Beatle Era was 1965. I was 9 years old then and thought of them as untouchable Giants. What a great year of memories!!
@kimmergonzales9792 You got that right! The year 1965 was amazing. I was 12 and the Beatles were everything I wish I could be. I couldn't believe how, all of a sudden, there's another new Beatle song on the radio for us to listen to. Another great song. The year 1965 was also amazing for all the other classics that came out that year. I remember sitting on my bed one afternoon, reading a book and listening to the radio. Suddenly a strange introduction begins to a song. It's different. It articulates a drifting melody. The sound is cascading downward till it hits that beat, that groove. And that was when I first heard California Girls. I go, yeah!
One of their BEST! I love Ringo's drumming--how he takes charge of the tempo after the intro. 🙂 I kinda liked the pre-digitially "fixed" drop-outs edition, but this is great.
Yet another fantastic remix. Love the drums, vocals, bass & guitars, truly breathes new life into the Fab Four. To hear them in a good mix only reinforces my admiration. I was there and watched the Ed Sullivan performance on TV with millions of others. p.s. Really nice to hear Ringo.
What a great video and great song. Love the way John's beautiful raspy voice come in on "It took soooooooo long" --- And McCartney's voice is so great in those Beatle days, too. What a team.
This version/mix is an improvement of the 2023 Giles Martin one. The vocals are slightly 'punched'. The way you mixed the backing vocals with the lead is very NICE! ( starts right and finishes both ). Just , overall, great job. The thing I miss ( neither this nor Martins mix has it ) is the way I remember first hearing Ringo's drum roll intro on the original. On these mixes it is/seems subdued. "Paging Mr Martin... are sitting comfortably? Then we'll begin..." : ) Thank you B2001B.
Beautiful mix. I have one thing that I offer as constructive criticism: I don't hear nearly enough tambourine. A big part of my joy in listening to this song is the build in the intro and the start of the outro, where there are two bars of the guitar riff, then two bars where that riff is doubled an octave down by the bass, followed by four more bars where the tambourine is introduced and then prominently featured throughout most of the song. Its arrangement is meticulous. Most records featuring tambourine - particularly in recent decades, but also back then - mix it as background percussion. In this song, it was an intergral part of the production. I love the clarity and stereo imaging in your mix, but I'm conscious throughout of missing a more prominent tambourine.
Thank you! You're right, I miss that upfront tambourine also. Unfortunately, the de-mixing program that I use will not isolate a tambourine but Peter Jackson's can and for some reason it was mixed down a bit from the original in the 2023 official remix which was my source. The 2023 remixes are the only Beatle recordings allowed for RU-vid publication. Thanks for listening!
Listen to the Beatle on the radio in the 60s as a small lad. Dropped a hit of purple micro dot on a beautiful day in May of 1979 at 17 years old and listened to Sgt pepper….never looked back ..Beatles forevermore
What I see in the first four years of their dominance is how they still enjoyed simply being the Beatles. Their output was incredible, their growth phenomenal, and they carried on. You can see the camaraderie that sadly waned.
Nice redeaux! A lot of the early Beatles were mono, especially all the 45s, which were not always on an album..... So, adding true stereo is an awesome improvement......
Playback speed .50 1:32 mark... Get your mind over the distortion. They begin the rise ahhh ahh aaaaaaaaahh, lol you know it. You will hear Bliss! OMFG keep listening
Two great vocalists on this one, Paul doing a beautiful lead with a subtle edge in his voice sounding a bit like the rough yowl that big cats sometimes make; and John coming in with that gorgeous rasp in the line "soooooo long". John apparently wrote most of the song and that incredible riff that repeats in various forms throughout the song. I hadn't heard this song in many years and forgot how great it was. The Beatles have so many great songs, so many, and it's so great to come back to them after so many years of not hearing those songs. I knew pretty much all their music by heart.
