The Beatles had just appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show, CBS Network in 1964. Next stop, a ranch near Alton, MO in Oregon County. Why? The Fab 4 needed a break from their breakneck first tour of the USA. The man who owned the big plane the Beatles chartered for their tour just happened to own a big ranch near Alton. He 'secretly' flew The Beatles thinking no one would know their whereabouts for a couple of days rest. Well, the secret did not last long.
