Well said Paul. I will also add that with the release of Now and Then is like a widow finding an unopen love letter tucked away in a drawer from her decease husband who never shared it with her because he thought it was too sentimental. Such a letter will bring tears to the widow's eyes as it did with me when I opened Now and Then in hearing it for the first time. It is bitter sweet because it is great to receive this last recording from the Beatles, them communication with humanity once more in a new song. Sure it is not a return of these amazing four individuals coming back to use in their youth to make music again. If this is to be the last musical expression from them by way of cute and paste then well take it.
Thank you!! I do have to admit I had a lot of emotions going through me when I listened to it. However, the video was the one that got me in the feels. So well done. Unfortunately I recorded this video before the video for the song came out so I couldn't speak to it. Still, it's great to have this song for the rest of our lives.
@@MusicMentionsReal Another test for me is how well does Now and Ten stands up when listening to it in the content of the Blue album. My judgement is it has proved its worthiness in this test.
Hmm…interesting. I’m a dyed in red and blue Beatle phreak. I get faint when people talk about them! So? What about this song anyway? Hmm…I’ve poked at it with a stick. It kinda looks like plastic poo. Do I like it? Absolutely! It’s the Beatles! However I can’t really slip it into their catalogue comfortably. Same thing with Free As a Bird and Real Love. I like all three tunes but its kinda like running into a co-worker shopping at the grocery store. 🤘😳🤘
Hahaha, I get that! I look at those post-Lennon is alive songs as having asterisks but, to your point, it's The Beatles so they're about 97% better than most stuff out there.
