Magic. It was magic. Everybody else made music, and some of it was very good. Only the Beatles made magic. To this day nobody knows where it came from.
Possibly my all-time favorite Beatles song. The blending of each of their individual instrumental arrangements, coupled with those killer harmonies makes the brain spring an endorphin leak, every time. After 56 years, I STILL get chills every time I hear this song.
@@graemed3012 You know exactly that feeling I'm talking about, Graeme. The hairs on the back of my neck stand on end when I hear it. I return to this Mike Pachelli "How To" lesson every now and then to re-watch it. Fantastic video!
During his solo career a studio guitarist arrived and Lennon instructed "just don't play too many notes." That simple advice was the one of the primary secrets of the Beatle's success.
Mike Pachelli...."The Sixth Beatle"!!!... The Beatles music will live in infami. What friggen music Geniuses of that era, making some of the most complex Rock music that ive ever seen, absolutely in a class all their own. Thanks for sharing your Gift with us Mike,You Rock!!!!✌🙏
Mike- completely brilliant job on your part and it never ceases to amaze me that guys in their 20's had such sophistication in their playing and arrangements. Truly mind blowing.
If I had these lessons when I was 17, I might have had a musical career instead of a utility worker for 38 years. I'm 71 now and still love watching your tutorials. Thanks. Tom H., New York.
Wow! I so much enjoy your lessons and historical facts behind their brilliant playing and singing which, by the way, you so masterfully reproduce on both counts. To this day, I've never seen such brilliantly made videos about the Beatles' songs and their playing them.
Wow! Is this not a magical song, with that solo, with those voices? It's unreal! So well done. Great to hear that bassline, louder and clearer than the original .
Just wanted to add in 1978 I was 8 and my Mom, bless her, brought me to the local Peaches record store and I purchased Let it Be and Abbey Road. This started me on a lifelong love of all things Beatles which continues to this very day .So glad to find a kindred soul who is so musically gifted to share my passion. Love your channel Mike.
As always, right on the money Mike. You astound me in the back story details on how these wonderful songs evolved. And you musical skills are flawless. Plus you have met and touched 2 of the Beatles in the flesh. That makes you a Demi god in the Beatle world. God bless you and have a wonderful Christmas holiday. And thanks for my present. Nowhere man.
Who would take offense to being copared to Bob Ross? What an awesome man. I've watched him for hours just to mellow me out and to marvel at his ¨turning nothing into something¨ with absolutely no intention of ever picking up a brush myself.
I must say that not only is this one of the GREATEST Beatles songs ever but it is in my opinion one of the GREATEST songs of all time. And of course you're breakdown of the song is genius. Thank you so much for this. Cheers form Ottawa, Canada.
Excellent Mike just EXCELLENT! I've always loved Harrison's solo riff in this song and now I know how it was done. I always thought it was a little bell that someone hit at the end of the solo riff I was surprised to discover it was done on his guitar. Damn George was good. ^_^
Great breakdown as usual. The Beatles were streets ahead of other groups around at that time with their complex chords. We copied their songs only using basic major , minor and 7th chords - no wonder we sounded so bad but the songs carried us through. Thanks Mike
Well done, Mike. I have for years marveled at just how layered and utterly complete this song is. It's one of my favorites, Thanks for the breakdown. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for this. I am especially grateful for the George Harrison riffs. I just love George more and more as time goes on. I’m hoping for a Pachelli treatment for I Me Mine if you ever feel up to it. No other vids seem to nail it and I know you’d get it spot on. Thanks again for all your Beatles instructional videos. You are appreciated!!!!
SUPER, Mike ...everything well executed and defined for the guitar on my favorite Beatles song...and you even double track and harmonize wonderfully to make it as close as them...you're a joy to watch and to learn to play these songs...Almost bringing tears to my eyes...everyone in their right mind owe you a big Thanks for making it easier to learn them ...LET IT BE KNOWN ...!!
“I’m that kind of whack-a-doodle.” And please keep being that! Another excellent video and history of a classic Beatles song. One of my favorites. Thanks Mike!
Absolutely beautiful! You show exactly the magic of the Beatles. 4 units into one. Also Mike you are a great musician. I love the last part of your videos where you make it all come together.. no pun intended 😁 . Great video! 👍
You are appreciated Mike. I try to learn one everyday.I knew many of these because the "garage band" I was in played a lot of them (wrongly) I played bass for a country band once, The bass part on this song really sets it apart. I dont normally give Paul the credit he deserves on the Hofner.
I agree, it is a great bass line. Its melodic, improvisational and complements the song. It’s interesting how Paul played so many 8th note syncopations on the + of 4 throughout the song. It’s something that only he did, everyone else is on the beat but it works so well! Maybe he had been listening to some Motown and James Jameson recently, lol
That was fantastic Mike! One of my all time favorite Beatles songs. Your breakdown and analysis of all of their songs is truly amazing. No one does it better! Hope that all is well in France. Happy Holidays to you and your family! Stay safe! 👍👍👏👏🎄🎄🎄🎄👍👍
Always loved this song with the Fender strat tone going on, and I love all the Beatle tidbits and trivia you add to the mix , great lesson thanks and more treble please …
Fantastic again Mike. How you can hear it, play it and video it so well is incredible. I have new respect for the ripping bass line which sounds a bit clearer than the original recording.
There are no words to thank you for duch a incredible video!!! Fabulous job. You've nailed each part f or each and every instrument and piece of vocals!!!
fantastic breakdown as usual Mike, and it helps to understand the brilliance of the Beatles. Understanding their writing talent is a gift you actually have and your easy to follow offerings are priceless to me and my cheap Benson strat. ha ha ...thanks again really excellent, Tom from the UK.
Once again Mike a wonderful surgical dissection of the song that brings so much out of the genius that created it. I was 15 years old when Rubber Soul came out and it has to be one of my favourite albums of all time. I think it was a watershed point from the early Beatles work to the later songs.
