Beatles records are not rare but there are some that you never ever see. In this video, the museum's owner, Francis shows us rarely seen albums from: South America, Asia, Mexico, Egypt and even Iran! We'll also show you some ultra-rare Beatles 78's from: India, The Philippines and Colombia. We guarantee that you will never see such a variety of Beatles records in a single video.
Next week, we'll look at the museum's amazing collection of memorabilia and interview Francis about his collection.

Thank you for another fine episode from this private museum! Ever since I found out about the 78s from India (from watching this channel), they have captured my imagination. Their very existence pleases me, somehow. Francis' collection of them is amazing! I'm mostly just a tourist in the world of Beatles collectible records, but if I were ever to actually join in the game, I would probably start there.

Right there with you - I've been collecting 78s since I was a little boy (it was the 70s - people were cleaning out their collections as stereo became the standard), and like you, I have been obsessed with Beatles 78s since I first learned of them. The Indian ones were the first ones about which I learned. The ones from the Phillipines and the others we see in this videos are newer to me, but I do love those colorful labels. I continue to dream that there will be new, audiophile-grade vinyl pressings of those 78s, remastered from the best mono sources. An even crazier idea would be boxed versions of each of their U.K. albums (the term album comes from the 78 era, when longer works had to be issued on multiple records and were sold in sets; like photo albums) in mono and stereo versions. Hey - I can dream! I hope you find an actual Beatles 78 some day that isn't a zillion dollars - and I hope I do, too!

It always amazes me that artwork on these releases was basically “anything goes” outside the UK. If Lennon hated the artwork on the U.S. version of Help, I wonder what he would have thought of those Uruguay or Malaysia LPs. They are fascinating for their lack of professionalism. The blue Rubber Soul from Taiwan takes the cake. You would think that EMI would have distributed photo layouts for the covers when they distributed tapes to these countries. They could have just left the text off so each country could add their own typesetting. Clearly it was a different world then. At least all of these variations make collecting a fun (if endless) task. Thanks for giving us a look at these rare LPs.

Seeing these this pristine is such a treat. They look like they were purchased in the store brand new. I can imagine Francis trotting around the globe seeking Beatle records while immersing himself in the culture, and enjoying the cuisine, wine and spirits of the place where he is hunting for that prized Beatles vinyl, similar to the Most Interesting Man on the Dos Equis beer commercials.

Pepper's issue from Singapore is what were the edits like to the title track and it's reprise, seeing as how they didn't use "With a Little Help From My Friends" or "A Day In the Life." Did they do some kind of fade out on the tracks or just cut them off before they went into the censored tracks? Does anyone happen to know?

Oh, Andrew, something to mention in a future video of Argentinian Beatles albums. The first three albums, “Por favor yo”, “con Los Beatles”, and “yeah, yeah, yeah, Paul, John, George y Ringo” (A hard day’s night album) we’re released in the 60s in pure mono mixes, with the original UK masters. Both mono and stereo albums were simultaneously released since the “Beatles For sale” album. Beatles albums, from “Por favor yo” to a compilation called “Por siempre Beatles” were repressed in the 70s with a distinct label design. “Los Beatles” compilation, the one in the museum, and the “Por siempre Beatles” compilation were only released in mono sound. The threaten else (please please me to let it be) we’re repressed on stereo
@soymartin07

Hi, are you argentinian? Do you know anything about the 1973 stereo reissues? I think they are the best I have heard, the closest to the original editions Uk
@Luc-Sist_07
@Luc-Sist_07 Год назад
@@soymartin07 hello. Yes, I’m from there. And yes,i own a few bunch of stereo albums. The “Por favor yo” 70s repressing got a weird matrix number “YEX 94-1” on the A side, and “YEX 95-1” I played it on a stereo phonographer and I can tell that the sound is great. “Con los Beatles” album is good too, but not as the first one. “Colección de viejos temas” (Oldies but goldies) is great too. I can tell that that album is a good one for Beatles starters. The thins I don’t like from the 70s and 80s reissues are that the sleeves are very weak. My 70s “con los Beatles” had suffered very much before I own it. “Por favor yo” is near mint. Imagine that 50 years had passed and still looks as good as new Edit: still, I forgot some. I’ll make a list and critics of the album I got. “Por favor yo”. Is a great album with good stereo mixing. The one I got is a EMI-Odeon stereo pressing. The colors are black and dark pink “Con los Beatles” is another case. The stereo is quite heavy, something that makes my turntable arm jump sometimes. The label is EMI-Odeon as the “por favor yo” one “Socorro” is a good sounding pressing. In stereo 70s pressing under the EMI label 70s design with the number catalog being 9114. The stereo passages are great. The masters are purely from the original UK. “Colección de viejos temas” (oldies but goldies) is quite good. Stereo sound is great, the song mixing is great. And now, the mono albums. “Los Beatles” compilation is purely in mono. I know this for the “thank you girl” song, not having the harmonica in the tape. The “ticket to ride” song is the heaviest one, doing a good mixing with the other ones. “Por siempre Beatles” is a good one, not the best. It has songs that were on singles, as “yes it is” or “I’m down”. Still, it catches the feeling of groovy, making it a good compilation. “Let it be” is not the best. I understand that the mono mixing is just a fold down of the stereo tapes.
@Luc-Sist_07
@Luc-Sist_07 Год назад
@@soymartin07 yeah. Beatles Argentinian albums were as good as the UK ones. This is because the got mono and stereo tapes. There’s story behind so… there’ll be a lot of text. In 1964 after the success of the Beatles, Odeon “pops” manager decided to release simultaneously the first two album “please please me” and “with the Beatles” under the catalogs LDS-2095 and LDS-2096 A hard day’s night album, known here as “yeah, yeah, yeah, Paul, john, George y Ringo” was released time later, in the 64 too. Only in mono. Since “beatles for sale” and therefore, all the albums were pressed in mono and stereo, except the “Los Beatles” Argentinian compilation and “por siempre Beatles”. In the 70s and 80s, the albums were reposed only in stereo, this includes the forts three albums. In the 80s, the “master digital” series was released and the albums were repressed and reissued. Check out a website called “Beatles Vinilos”.

I’m from USA and have a pressing of "Por Siempre Beatles". To be honest I don’t know if it’s a mono or stereo pressing.

@@Luc-Sist_07 Es lo que yo temía, son másters stereo Uk y parecen copias de primera generación, alguien debería rastrear esas cintas...

The Colombian editions that indicate "Monofónico" refer to the mono versions of the records, whose first editions were simple copies of the North American masters. They are not part of the name of the record. Those early editions are special. Impressive 78 rpm record "I Saw Her Standing There" printed by Codiscos-Odeon in Medellín. Great video Andrew.

Creo que Argentina, es el único país de Latinoamérica, que respeto casi al 100% la discografia inglesa. Tambien hay una recopilación rara en Argentina llamada "Por siempre Beatles", saludos!! Me encantó el video, muchos discos que no conocía!

It would be great to own some Beatles70 eights since I have a Victrola which is a real like awesome machine from 1926 and plus I have an audio technic a 120 X which plays 4533s and 78. I loved hearing what people have in their collections being a music collector myself.

If I give up eating and guitars I could have my collection looking like this. Well, in 40 or 50 years. LOL

The pictures in the Greek album were taken in Milan, at the Velodromo Vigorelli. In Rome the Fabs performed indoors, at the Teatro Adriano
