On my way to Mérida I stopped for a couple nights in Villahermosa. It's been cool to see the changes in the country since leaving Guadalajara just about a week ago. Thanks Moist for contributing on patreon, you made my day!

Actually, Tabasco, Aguascalientes, and Durango are the least visited states in the country.

It's great to see all the people wearing masks. I always had the idea that Mexicans would be resistant to such things but it looks like they are more intelligent than a lot of Americans.

Not true. I was there a couple of days ago. Im actually from that city, and living now in Mérida. If you pay close attention, you can see some people without masks. While I was there I saw way too much people without masks. Even in the public transport. Is so bad that actually a mall in that city was closed by the goverment because a person was walking around with an oxigen tank. I was looking for that video and land in here, lol. Mérida is way safer than Villahermosa. And as he said in the video, the tourism is non existent in not just in Villahermosa, but the entire state.

Villahermosa used to be called San Juan Bautista in colonial times. From what my mom says, there used to be more of a historic center, but that is long gone. Casa de los Azulejos is probably the most colonial edifice left, which is actually a museum of sorts. Nice to see you had a pleasant time there.

I spent 3 weeks in the Yucatán visiting the Mayan ruins, 13 in all. We did it in July! Hottest day was ‘veal’s like’ 132f with humidity. Strangely it was not that bad, frank lots of water but still worth it. We were both in our 60’s and living in Phoenix at the time so did know heat. Drink water and stay safe.

Love your videos! Is that your dog? I think I have only seen him/her in a couple of your videos. Speaking of dogs, I'd love to know which cities in Mexico you have been to where you have seen the least street dogs. I lived in Chapala and Ajijic and there were sooo many. It was so sad to see and I had trouble dealing with how it affected me.

You don't have Google maps on your phone? You can mark your start and always find your way back. All the towns east of Cordoba don't have nice centro squares like most of Central Mexico has, other than Valladolid.
