The Beauty of Charlotte Birkin "Bad Girl" 

One thing I noticed in regards to Bad Girl is actually a parallel to Sylvia. It's interesting that when Sylvia vanishes, Travis has to fight specifically bad girl. Both are blonde, enticing, and are vulgar. I see Bad Girl as Sylvia without any of the charm or "class". A bad person who has a number of people at her beck and call (Bad Girl's sub slaves and Sylvia's UA and assassins). Travis calls her a freak, yet he is the one killing people to potentially have sex with Sylvia. In this way, Bad Girl foreshadows how Sylvia's veneer of charm hides a bad interior.

Charlotte Corday is also a source for her name, the assassin who took her fate to the gallows. She killed the leader of the French revolutionary army by simply walking up to him as he bathed, and stabbed him. Her kind appearance and the gentle air she carried herself with made no one question why she was carrying such a large knife. She is also called the angel of assassination.

Before Travis Strikes Back there was a fan theory I came across (Though I don't remember where I heard it) that suggested that Bad Girl was somehow self aware of her status as a video game boss fight and the knowledge of that was why she was so burned out and pissed off since her whole life was a complete fabrication designed to justify her position and death. According to the Theory the real reason why she was so hell bent on beating Travis was because she believed that by winning a battle she was destined to lose she would somehow become her own person, that she would become real. Adding fuel to this now obviously wrong theory was how in NMH 2 there are a couple of instances where Travis seems to be addressing the player with the most blatant one being the cut scene following the defeat of Alice Twilight. It also didn't help how everything about Bad Girl was a complete mystery in NMH including her actual name which made her really stand out among a cast of already stand out bosses.

Hit girl is a very tragic character. All she wanted was to follow in her father's foot steps but slowly turned into a monster in the process.

I always saw Bad Girl as the opposite of Sylvia. Sylvia is a bad person who plays at being a good person, while Bad Girl is a good person playing at as a bad person. After Travis brings back Bad Girl she’s done nothing but help him. While Sylvia actively lies and manipulated Travis.

Bad Girl was literally my favorite character in No More Heroes, I didn't expect this video but I'm glad you made it.

Bad Girl is one of my favorite fights to go against in NMH, but not too far off from my personal favorite fight in the series.

the number 3 specifically symbolizes tons of positive attributes, and so is normally seen as the first perfect number, which can probably be a bit of irony considering who bad girl is the fact that the number 3 is so heavily tied to bad girl can also be a reference to 3 being the number that comes right before 4, and 4 symbolising death in Japan along with being an unlucky number, so in this sense bad girl is always close to death which honestly makes tons of more sense seeing as she is alcoholic, an assassin and etc

Hmmm, kinda surprised you didn't mention the gimp suits and leather/bdsm motifs at all. Specifically, I think it's less like she went into sex work, and more that she's chasing the high she can never get back. Much like a young star who hits it big and ends up surrounded by drugs and paraphernalia, violence, alcohol, and sex all point to a life that has quickly lost meaning. Also, I think it's worth noting that all the guys around her are both in bondage gear and at her mercy (which can also be compared to the power and influence of significant individuals and celebrities to avoid consequences), which is interesting when you pair it with an attitude that tells Travis to shut up, as her toys cannot talk back to her. It leads me to believe that she is VERY aware of how pointless her life has become, but she still chases that high, because when she has to confront that reality, she either has to recognize that she's wasted her life, or instead will turn to a coping mechanism, whether it's drugs, sex, and/or violence. And from the look of things, Violence with one of the others sprinkled in occasionally seems to be the answer.

Something that I noticed upon a replay of the first game is that Bad Girl is essentially a normal person compared to the other assassins and Travis almost lost to her.

I remember fighting her. I did not enjoy the fight because she was quite difficult. Even Travis echoed the sentiments of the player after defeating her.

Good video, lots of lore I didn't know about - but are you sure those are the real lyrics to Pleather for Breakfast? AFAIK it's never been confirmed, so it may as well be nonsense. I've read a very different interpretation before, and both sound like someone trying to make sense out of a supposed demonic message in a rock song. In particular, I wouldn't hear "so let's go" if you didn't put it in front of my face, and even then, it didn't sound like it.
