My grandpa would love to see what u r doing saving all the history. But would hate to to the factory being torn down its tuff for me to see it being torn down I could only imagine what he is thinking... Just driving buy it today was heart breaking.... As so often happens when people talk about Letterpress they don’t know the basics. Type (which is a mirror image of the finished product) is set and laid out so that it reads left to right. That’s vital. The lower case “k” for example, is set with the two angled pieces protruding to the right of the upright, just as it does when printed. When setting columns of type the second line is above the first, then the third on top of that. It sounds complicated but it isn’t. Everything is set upside down BUT reads left to right. The fact that the type we see in the video is not “upside down” shows the people in charge don’t really understand how it was done.
