Merci pour cette merveilleuse démonstration! Quel talent et quelle aisance dans la façon de manier les pinceaux. on apprend beaucoup en vous regardant et en vous écoutant. Merci encore. ML
I have tried to paint red onions from a photo from another art teacher without much success because I was really not shown HOW to do it. However, here I learned the way to do it, and that is by using the correct brush strokes. This has made a tremendous difference in not only greatly improving my paintings of onions but of other subjects as well such as flowers and leaves. This has been very helpful to me! Whenever possible, however, I will paint from actual objects in my shadow box rather than from photos. Thank you, sir, and thanks to your gifted wife for showing me how to paint flowers and leaves. Most sincerely, Atmur H. Stokes, M.D.
You are amazing!!!! A wonderfull artist with a great sense of humour! Bless you and thanks for sharing! Btw bought your rose video and brushes! Will be using them soon!

Fabulous! Now I want to paint onions for my kitchen and everyone else's that I know haha. Looks like so much fun to paint! Thank you, I think you and Kathwren are wonderful 💕
You are one crazy guy but you put over how to paint so beautifully, I will look out for the rest of your videos, you are so user friendly. many thanks for showing us how it is done.
Could you do a demo on preparing your canvas? If I re-use a canvas, I can never get the gesso to completely cover what was previously there. Sometimes the gesso cracks. And I wonder if it will be durable over time with a painting on top of another. What kind of pigments can you add to gesso to get good coverage? Thanks for sharing your painting methods. God bless!
First I did not want to see the onion class, but once I saw it, I love it and I am going to make an onion paint. Lots and lots of thanks to you Gary! 🌹💝
10 from me. Can I ask you what brand of bushes you use and what size numbers you use? Also is it linseed oil you use on your canvas? Do you use paint that is used for flowers only? Thank you . Marie
Out of curiosity - because I am thinking of going into oil painting from acrylics - what medium are you using? I don't want to use toxic mediums like turps, hence I want to go for non-toxic oil painting. Walnut oil? Is this what they call "alla prima" style of painting? Because I admire the way you are painting fast and all in one sitting and yet you are able to get the form and depth of the objects without having to go for the build up of one colour/hue/tone on top of another by having to wait for it to dry. Sorry, I forgot to mention, I do admire your bold, confident and playful strokes to painting - a reflection of your character. The humor and playfulness of your character conceals the serious depth of knowledge you have in your excellent oil painting skills. I am impressed. Some artists tend to be too technical and serious that it seems to defeat the enjoyment of art.
