I own 12, but I just find it difficult going back and forth/ setting up xp, feels like such a monumental difference with 20 years in ms sims... That and the world completes MSFS, Xplane isn't the 'full' package for me, it needs world and plane.

@@AvAngel I totally get that, the inverse is why I've never had the chance to try an A2A product. For what it's worth, I asked Colin at Milviz about the Otter and Turbo Otter and he said they are deep in development and confirmed they'll be full-fat with wear/tear, failures, etc

Might be the mixture setting......

I prefer the milviz Porter to the default one honestly

Someone just released the Harbor Air livery for the Beaver, its perfect now! The Electric Beaver and Turbos are quite exciting aircraft I agree, the sound is what really brings her home.

The version I have is the gotfriends expansion of it :)

For me? yes... Same job, different performance and engine type, but similar. To me? yeah. Honestly this is free, that is payware but great.

I’d still pick up the Kodiak, similar airfields maybe depending where you are flying, but these planes are different enough in themselves to have both, this is an iconic STOL old school tail dragger with classic gauges (yes there is a Garmin GPS but still), the Kodiak is faster, has over twice the range, landing and take off distances are shorter, nose gear, modern STOL aircraft with glass (G1000), reverse thrust, and ability to carry more payload. Obviously you can fly either into most airfield’s, but if you are after something more likely to by flown around Alaska and Canada, the Beaver is the obvious choice for that classic bush flying. If you are after something more modern and do flights all over and into grass strips on the side of mountains in Papa New Guinea for example or just want to go further, faster, the Kodiak is the perfect choice.

Honestly, I like the Kodiak but the Beaver, especially the float variant, has a charm it lacks. Might just be the Beaver was the first plane I ever flew in a simulator, but still I really enjoy it. It’s modelled nicely, sounds awesome, and handles well.

@@AvAngel Yeah, not to mention the water physics. Be nice if Asobo would finally fix that, or anything for that matter. Like the fuel selector that doesn't work in the Beaver, unless you use the mouse.

The Beaver wasn't produced in the era of the trilogy. Maybe the fourth movie. Though I do remember a seaplane in the second one. Will need to rewatch to see if they got it right.. sorry, being pedantic 😁

There is a Ford Tri Engine on the store. I think I have it. Can't be sure though....

@@pvwulfe6662He's not talking about any movie, he's referring to the real life incident where Ford landed a DHC-3 on the parallel taxiway at John Wayne Orange County Airport, barely clearing the vertical fin of an American Airlines 737 that was holding short of the actual runway. A couple feet lower on his approach and it could have been catastrophic for him and the people on board the 737.

Shouldn't have ANY auto trim unless you have auto trim enabled in settings? That or AP is on.

@@AvAngel no and no.... hhhh lol. I'll double check some stuff. There's a few aircraft I've found over the years that have this bug. Same with my auto pilot ignoring the altitude and heading settings.

@@Shumanator94 Are you using the GNS430/530 workingtitle?? This Add-On unfortunatly adds autotrim to the classic planes. This makes the DC6 unflyable for example

Well thats the sim for you, in general its 'ideal' conditions and aircraft parts condition... so theoretically it COULD be this easy, in an ideal world... real life is far from ideal :D

@@AvAngel even then, I doubt a radial engine starts up that easily if you don’t follow the proper procedure. If you watch a video of the startup procedure you’ll realize how much you missed on the startup and yet it still fired up no problem

They're folding the Beaver Improvement mod into a bigger mod with more of the 40th Anniversary planes tweaked. I don't think it's been taken down yet though.
