Dude... wtf? Psychopathy and autism and not related. That's old ass crap from the dark age of psychology. His personality and morals and ethics are his own. Anyone can get obsessed. That's not our edge. The pain is the point. If you're overwhelmed by your senses most of the time, you learn to solve problems rapid quick and be done, and you have extra senses to do it with. Pattern recognition processing doesn't overwhelm(the pattern guys). So lightning speed without disengagement = I'll kick your ass.

Sounds to me like he was doing what EVERY retail investor feels should be done. Our money being stolen by algorithms by hedge funds. I'm not mad at him at all.
If anyone isn’t profitable that’s specifically their problem man. Anyone who manipulates the markets will get punished for it when caught including the big institutional investors so the guy very much deserved the punishment. There are many profitable people in the market and it takes actual work to be successful just like any other business and trying to cheat himself there was very selfish and obviously a crime
This dude is awesome. He got in trouble because he beat them at their own game . Politicians always use insider trading to get millions . He should have kept his money . I would have been in another country living it up .
If he was a hedge fund manager, he would be celebrated! He would get a bonus so big that he could retire, but because he is smarter than them and better than them, they are jealous and they cannot stand it! So they use him to be an example to any of us who would dare come up against their crooked power!

The stock market never makes money disappear it merely provides the mechanism for it to change hands from the person on the wrong side of a trade to the person on the right side of the trade period.
Spoofing still happens. I’m a day trader and I’ve watched orders come into the market that are sometimes 100x what the typical volume is and as orders start going through to buy into the sell order it gets pulled off and the price will spike upwards 5%-10%. It’s very uncommon to happen and usually when someone places those major orders the stock goes the opposite way due to volume being so low so the traders trading the stock realize there won’t be enough buying pressure to break the order
That's why Dr David Paul says that big bars should be accompanied by big volume and small bars by low volume, because banks, institutions can not manipulate the volume, they can only manipulate the price. If there are big bars accompanied by low volume,it's better to stay away and also what's happening in the higher timeframe determines the trend of the market so top down analysis is crucial.
I see the whales planting huge buy walls and sell walls all the time on the Level 2 Ask Bid ladder... it can be especially effective after hours when the normal volume is much lower than compared to the normal market hours.
Never understoood how algos hurt day traders. You can see the imprints the algos leave in the tape and trade with them. When they push the tape down to hit everyones stops you can put a buy order there for example. This works great for scalps especially. As soon as the algos hit the stops, they buy and sell among themselves to push the tape higher.
What did Sarao really do wrong? Make trading profits that made the big brokerage firms jealous? I think that's all he's really guilty of. All trading profits are based on disinformation and misdirection that the media (TV, radio, websites, etc.) push out to the general public, courtesy of the big brokerage firms. How is spoofing any different? Spoofing is still done today.

I’m a psychologist and specialize in mental diagnosis. I’ve never met an intelligent psychopath that claim they have psychopathic tendencies. Just saying. Most of them don’t even know.
I work in a role that involves deep psychological analysis as well and my observations support your claims. The fact that this guy claims he’s a psychopath is incredibly bizarre and is far more indicative of a weak sense of self, poor self-esteem, and an obsession with self-image than it is of being an actual psychopath lol.

In his interview he told, he's algo was capable to bringmarket up and down for few bits but crashing the markets was not possible with account he hold, and was made a scapegoat by the big boys
I think he is too smart that he knew this would happen. So, in short, he got all planned where those money would be placed and are readily available whenever possible he needed or reclaim. I think, he's much more steps ahead the prosecution.
What lessons can we learn from this?….quit while you’re ahead. Pigs get fat but hogs get slaughtered. Nab should have known when to quit. Scale back, manage risk….we hear stories all the time about great traders that make millions until their luck runs out. It’s best to grow steadily and at a slower pace while limiting risk and not putting all of our eggs in one single basket
He wasn't a scapegoat. He knew exactly what he was doing and he did it for profit. He could have done it for years undetected but he was too greedy and couldn't control himself. That's how he got caught. Hubris..
Institutional trading firms do things that should be considered illegal every day for manipulation of market, but once they get screwed over by their own strategy someone have to go to jail. Interesting.
I used to work for a guy that designed software that had all the trading data from the start of Wall Street. He was like this guy. I would come to work on his house as I am a builder and he looked like he had not moved from the "Horseshoe". That's what I called his desk configuration. A horseshoe shape. All the best computers at the time (like 30 of them) and it was not hooked the web. His software did what the guy in the video's brain did and made him billion of dollars. He paid me well! Oh, and this was 2003
How can a private trader (presumably licensed?) have enough collateral to put hundreds of really large buy orders in, which are large enough to greatly affect the price? Don't traders have credit limits set? How come he was allowed to place such large orders as a private individual? I don't understand... P.S. AFAIK 'Spoofing' is still not illegal in the UK and EU, so you can still do it as long as you don't pick the US stock market!
The government takes the money for themselves after a lawsuit. Isn’t it ironical? They let you do the damage, and they penalize you by giving them the money you stole. The same happened to a guy who had 50,000 BTC from a dark web website during the early days of Crypto. He found a glitch: by pressing on withdrawal option twice, the website would send him double the amount of BTC he requested. Why would the government go after a person who “stole” digital currency that is worth “nothing”. Then when BTC went to all time high prices, the guy ended up with around $3B and the government went after him with FBI until they found them. The government then sold all his crypto and kept the money.
Ive noticed how stocks have huge spikes. And then slowly milk ppls money before having another less then spike before and milk again, the beginning year price of the stock like 80% down ....... Is this what happened to gamestop?
