I burst out laughing when Mike was just like 'The fucking dog!'.

I think pets can tell when we are upset and I truly think Growler was trying to comfort Mike by trying to get by his head and on his chest. Very sweet.

Mike is a prince of a husband, Fleur you are blessed! Loved the kitty snuggle, so sweet. Have a safe trip to the states!

Fleur, I know you and Mike love Piglet with all your heart so I don't understand why you won't apply such a simple fix to her running problem! Collar, tag, and microchip all your dogs if you haven't already and then put Piglet on a leash! Make it the longest leash you can find if you want her to have some freedom, but clearly she can't handle the freedom being off leash affords her. God forbid she's carried off by an animal, hit by a car, found by someone with bad intentions, or just doesn't come back at all. Not doing anything to fix it means you can't expect her running problem to change and one day you won't be as lucky as you have been.

Do they sell "tiles'" in the UK? They are tracking tags. Perhaps you could purchase one on them or more and put it on Piglets collar. The app on your phone can help you pinpoint where she is if she decides to do more runners.

If it's any consolation, remember that dogs have no sense of time--no watches or calendars--which is why they are as happy to see you after 15 minutes as 15 days. Dogs also have no vanity so Treacle thinks she looks just fine! Her hair will grow back and she'll be gorgeous in no time. My scruffy Cairn terrier has lost an eye, many of his upper front teeth, and a small portion of his upper jaw so he now as a bit of an underbite. His shaved muzzle is slowly growing back and he's back to his old happy self. They are much more resilient than we are!

Favorite day so far, sneaky little pig is sooo cute. That double flick is so cool, I've never seen that before.

Around 3:30 : I think people usually keep their hand close to their chest or neck when they experience anxiety or fear. I notice I do it all the time.

I don't understand why they don't keep piglet on a lead if she runs, she will never learn to stay if she's not trained what do they expect!

You should get a small horn/loud whistle and train her to come back when you sound it. We have one for our daschounds and they come back even if they have found an animal or something. Very useful!

I don't think peeps commenting on dog vs commitments understand these are not personal outings, these are business/professional commitments and unfortunately regardless how much we love our pets, we cannot stop some things to be there 24/7 we just can't. Poor Treacle! I really feel for you both and your puppies! I have two dogs - my twins, and I'd hate for them to be apart. Glad that Mike can still go to America with you both. Please please please, STOP letting Piglet go off lead. For her safety and your sanity. She is not 'a bad dog', she's just not trained (enough) and as far as she knows, she's doing what she was bred to do. She might get herself in trouble with a badger or get stuck in a rabbit hole or maybe trip and hurt her leg and you won't be able to find her. You'll never forgive yourself. Just get her a superlong lead, maybe attach a horse lunge line to a retractable lead so she has plenty of space to run, but you've got hold of her at all times.

I can't understand why piglet still is not kept on a lead for walks despite going missing every time? One time she will go missing and won't return and you'll wish you kept her on a lead

Treacle is recovering at the vet, there was no reason for Fleur to cancel her commitments for the night. Honestly, she doesn't call all the shots and most people don't consider pet emergencies to be true emergencies, especially when it comes to big business. Also, in terms of the trip, this book tour is a major production. It's not just Fleur visiting on a whim. Top Shop, her publishing company, and the venues hosting her are just a few of the others involved and those commitments aren't just ones you can cancel because your dog is sick. There's a lot of time and money rapped up in this tour. Plus, because Fleur is self-employed, it's even more important for her to keep her commitments because there's nobody to pick up the slack or replace her. I don't doubt for a second that Fleur loves all of her animals, but everything she does is for her business and her livelihood. Mike can stay behind if necessary and I'm sure this is very stressful because the timing is terrible (not that there is ever a good time for a pet to be ill). Fleur is doing the best she can to balance all the moving parts and take care of everything that's going on at home and at work.

Even though Piglet has been known to run off now and again, I'm choosing to think she was out searching for her Treacle. And although the BLEEPing dog caused all sorts of trouble, we can't be too mad at her for being upset and missing her sister. She was just trying to help because she knows you all are upset and the little Piggy just wants to help out.

You need to get PawTrax or similar for your dogs! It's just a collar but has GPRS so you can track them instantly on google maps. Updates every 10 seconds and its waterproof! We live in the countryside and couldn't do without them on our dogs as they're always off and about. Please look into it, it's a lifesaver!!

I'm so glad that she's been improving, she's still in my thoughts and prayers. I know how it is to have a sick pup like that and it is beyond heart breaking. You are both extremely strong and bless Mike Piglet always seems to run off and test his patients.

Fleur, I am so glad that Treacle seems to be recovering okay - it was a big surgery and the doctors seem to take good care of her. Wishing you, Mike and the dogs (+cat) all the best, I hope you'll all soon be reunited! :) On another note, I get that you don't want Piglet on a leash, and at least you can let her run freely without being worried about a car hitting her or sth, but she is a hunting dog and it's in their nature to run off and hunt something. Why don't you get a GPS tracker for her?

PLEASE put your "beeping" dog on a "beeping" leash! Honestly, I love you guys, but it seems like Piglet runs away in EVERY vlog. You guys clearly love the hell out of your pets so I don't understand why you keep putting Piglet in danger. She could be attacked by a wild animal, get hit by a car, or meet a male dog and end up pregnant. Mike could break an ankle chasing after her in the woods. If you keep letting her run away, one day she isn't going to come back. I don't want you guys to go through the pain of losing another pet.

Poor Mike. I once lost my uncle's dog. Looked for the mutt until sunset. Came back home to the dog sleeping on the couch. As happy as I was to see him I was so mad at him. Turns out my family was looking for me since the dog came home on its own. And I didn't walk the usual path the dog was walk. So I got in a lot of trouble for that one...

I'm glad to see others addressing the issue, but why on earth won't you use a collar and lead on Piglet? It's a given she will do a runner now. 4 hours missing, anything could have happened. You seem to absolutely adore your dogs so I can't get my head around not using a lead on a tiny dog that's in danger every time she does a disappearing act. To be blunt, it's irresponsible!

We had a dachsy called Mac and he used to take himself off for little walks at every given opportunity! It must be something in the breed, they have a very independent streak!! Glad she was found safe and well and hope treacle is back to normal soon xx

This is the most hilarious blog I watch it every time I need a good laugh

It's 💔 when the 🐶 are ill, I think it's worse visiting for both yourselves and the animal. I had a few heart wrenching times with my Labrador, Pancreas, Pacemaker and then Enlarged Liver which resulted in Cancer... The short and fall of it is, there in the best place and the least stress the better but if I was going away and was Mike would want to see her for peace of mind.. They certainly break our hearts.. I haven't caught up with all of Vlogtober yet but hoping Treacie is fully recovered. I lost both my Springer and Lab within weeks of each other, absolutely devastating...

Oh, Treacle 😰 hope she recovers, soon.
