Thanks so much for commenting. Indeed, I found it a little mind bending at first, but I think that once you wrap your head around it the individual scales get very well engrained.

Thanks for re-posting this. I use Aeolian, Dorian & Harmonic minors, but haven't (yet) found any use for the Melodic Minor.

Thanks Rob. Melodic minor (especially the ascending melodic ) would be the go to scale for any minor chord that function as the tonic like Cmin6 or Cmin(maj7) I often use it on minor7 chords as well ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y97iZNg2zrQ.html

You are a lot more spontaneous and funnier in your recent videos but the content is so good,. That is a constant. Every time ı watch one of your videos, I am impressed with your throat inflation. Would you care to inform your viewers on the timeline for throat development? Cheers...

haha, the throat inflation happens to everyone I think. I believe it is caused by the resistance / back pressure from the reed and mouthpiece when blowing. My mom used to point that out about my playing when I was young so I think it's always been that way. In terms of sound development, I'm not sure there is a timeline to that, but my video on Voicing for Saxophone sums up all the exercises I do for developing the throat / flexibility etc. I can tell you that when I blow my throat is completely relaxed with zero tension. People talk about "opening" the throat, but I don't think that's an actual thing. It's all about playing without tension so that everything can resonate freely. I visualize the air column as a tube, like a plumbing pipe that starts in the abdomen and continues out the bell of the saxophone and I imagine it to be completely unobstructed and make it feel that it's as big as possible - but again, I don't think we can actually physically expand it, it's more about the sensation than anything else.
