Blue lenses are just as effective as yellow in many situations. A light (30% VLT) blue lens does a great job with cutting haze, glare, and improves contrast.

Blue lenses cut out more of the beneficial light from the sun I believe, and are harder to see through in lower light conditions

Amber is a pale orange shade that looks good on any skin tone and blends well and is a better choice than gray, and it gives some life to the face...it is also great to soften the look around the eyes for people "of a certain age"..a light amber tint is always a good choice.

@@tomdavis3038 True, but still he's right about the face, when I wear dark black or grey lenses I look like a gangster, and now I have yellow glasses, not the amber he's talking about, but now I look like a pretty bubbly guy. And that's a plus.

blue light can also cause headaches/eye strain/ less blinking during the day, so you should wear this anytime you will use any electronic device for more than 1 hour per day

So is blue light from digital devices only an issue at night? During day time, office work all day at the computer, I don't need any blue light filter?

no, they were just a little bit misinformed, blue light can cause eye strain/not enough blinking during the day, and it can also have serious long term effects

It's been debatable and I've been going back and forth, but I've been a web and graphic designer and also programmer for 20 years, and have done a year of intense trading on my laptop and phone. Never really had eye strain problem or headache except from cutting down on coffee intake. Blue filter in the day time turns out to be annoying. I heard of studies on blue light from the sky being a lot worse than screens, which is why I fall asleep anyway during the day time working on my computer. Going out door keeps me awake, maybe because of the fresh air or blue sky. What I'm still testing right now is ditching my phone's blue filer at night and just wearing my yellow glasses to see if I helps me go to sleep earlier on a more consistent basis.

Hi, Thanks. My safety glasses seem to block about 40% only. I wonder if the US$ 10 to 12 dollar sunglasses (Iron Man/Tony Stark steampunk design for example) on AliExpress or Amazon will block 100% UV (UV400 spec)? Thank you. God bless, Revelation 21:4

Any industrial Supply type store will carry amber safety glasses. Typically around $5. I use them for driving at night. Makes the high beam lights people refuse to dim not bother me so much.

Dashi blue light stops melatonin production , think of your TVs , phones ect that’s blue light . If you wear yellow glasses it blocks that blue light therefore increasing melatonin
