Hey keenan, do you think kesa gatame has potential at the highest level? I train with a very high level competitor coach (ADCC medalist) and he reckons scarf hold sucks for all the usual reasons. Possibility of backtake and the bailout transitions are not great if you start to lose it. If anyone else in the comments has seen any high level competitors endorse it or use it please let me know!

Owen Livesey from Carlson Gracie Hull uses it alot and gets the finish from there. He's on alot of Polaris/NOGI Sub only type events. Check out some of his matches on RU-vid. He's a Heavyweight Judoka which probably explains why he's so good there and he never seems to get his back taken 🤘🔥
