Just bought this a few weeks ago and I’ll go ahead and start off with the good. 4k 144hz gaming on pc is just an amazing experience! It’s so crystal clear as if you were looking out of a window that had just been cleaned. The colors, brightness, and vibrancy of this monitor just makes the 4k image that much better. As far as the bad goes, I’ve been getting these weird vertical lines that appear on the right side of my screen that seems to come and go. It definitely kills all immersion and is pretty much unusable when they appear. I don’t think this is a common issue so I will be returning it and getting another one. With all that being said, I would still recommend this monitor to anyone who has the hardware to run it.
@@armen1136 MSI also released the MAG281URF. It’s a 28” (27.9”) 144Hz panel, but it’s including the “rapid ips” variation of the panel that was on their extremely well-performing 1440p 165hz model. I just ordered mine solely because of the inclusion of “rapid ips”. That particular optimization is well-received by blur buster forums and that 1440p mode performed “perfectly” according to hardware unboxed. It also has real hdmi 2.1 and an extremely large color gamut. There’s literally a handful of RARE reviews for it, but their all very positive towards its gaming performance. Only 700 too btw.
@@joselaba Yeah just saw it, I might pick one up too. I'm surprised no one's reviewed it yet. It looks like a really good monitor. I did pick up their MPG321UR-QD, which I love, Yeah it's not the fastest monitor but It's plenty fast for me and has amazing colors. I mainly play single games, So it doesn't bother me.
@@armen1136 yes it does, from what I could tell. I was able to game on the series X at 4K 120Hz no problem. However, I had to make sure that I had the power saver feature enabled on the series x, this was creating some drastic conflicts between the DP, HDMI, and Auto-Scan feature. Pretty much causing the Xbox to “wake up” on its on own when using the pc and vice versa. Despite that flaw, which can be fixed with a firmware update in the future, refresh rate compliance is damn near perfect at 144Hz. I’ll be shocked to not hear this monitor in the conversation for “best monitor of…..”. However, 4K @ 144Hz is impossible for games that were designed to look good (gears 5 is my main). Even though dedicated hardware ray tracing is not enabled in that game, having any form of SSGI or ray-tracing is not a viable option for gaming at 120+ fps. I’m talking a stable 120fps, being tanked down to 60 on an inconsistent basis while completely maxing out your GPU at the same time. 4K is brutal for pc gaming, and our hardware/software is severely lacking still (3080Ti and 12900k both at stable OC’s), But the MAG281URF monitor is beautiful IN every way (from a consumer standpoint), and deserves the recognition it’s about to receive from tech media.
Yooooooo what I love about your review is that you show your self playing games and you show the monitor! Keep up the great work dude! I rather see reviews like your cause instead of just hearing people talk and show the trailers of the monitor or show numbers I like how you explain it. I enjoyed watching you get kills
I like to play a mix of FPS but also single player RPGs, would you recommend the 28inch over 32? I'm also deciding between the G7 or Gigabyte M28U, which would you go for?
Hi mate, would you recommend this or the g5. The G5 is half the price and runs at 1440p but does not have 2.1 to enable vrr. I feel I’m unlikely to play in 5k graphics as slows the games down so not sure if a g7 would be necessary. What’s your thoughts. Great vid mate
id reccomend this one, my mate has it for his ps5 and it supports it really well but ive a slightly better monitor that decreases ghosting significantly. The acer predator XB283K. Its the best monitor for its price and its only 50 quid more than the oddysey.
Just picked this bad bot up for about 580 bucks on Amazon one of the best monitors i have used but tbf i did come from a 180p 60fps monitor so it was an insane jump for me. Amazing for ps5 and gow ragnarok was amazing on it
@@Yaowza1227 I got 28 i believe because i remember that my desk wasn't big enough to fit the larger model. I don't rly like over the top huge monitors anyways so i don't rly mind the size but its down to preference at the end
Suggestion for the monitor wall bracket is either “loctite” from the hardware or superglue which will lock the panel and prevent “monitor firmness disfunction” hehe😉 😜 🙃.
Had this since released been playing 1080 120hz on xbox since I've updated it I've notice it doesn't have 1440 any more well don't show up on xbox display settings?
@@Kndrmndr I was wrong it does and just go to the Samsung website go to your monitor and download to a USB and then out USB in monitor flick threw the menu and update
New to monitors here. So I have a Series X and looking to get to 120hz for the first time. So with the 2.1 HDMI port I am to get 4K@120hz? I’ve been told that the series hard locks you at 4K@60hz for some reason but with a True 2.1 HDMI it should do 4K@120hz…. (Playing Halo infinite majority of the time)
I just got this monitor but my monitor arm is tilting down and I can't get it to tilt up. I'm using the GM10-1 Single Monitor Desk Mount from fezibo and it can support up to 19 lbs. Someone please help me.
Grab G7 around 467$ and it fantastic. Since the option in Thailand kind of limit and I don't want to break my bank. I using G7 mainly Ps5 and little bit of media. In Thailand G7 even cheaper than M28U , M32U and Rog Swift. I bought G7 after I watched your vdo last month. Good vdo bro very nail the detail.
I had an Acer PE260K from Bestbuy on clearance. Usually a $500 monitor and I got it for $160.05 (price after tax). The picture quality is really good but the speakers sounded tinny. I returned it within 4 hours. Maybe because t was a professional monitor intended for graphic artists the focus was not really on the audio side of it. It came with a calibration report in the box. I just couldn't get over the tinny speakers. The monitor I have been using before is a Samsung Syncmaster XL2370HD made in June of 2010 and it has much better sounding speakers. Might that be because it also has TV functionality if you would like to use it with a cable connection or antenna? I am wondering do the built in speakers of this monitor sound good or do they sound tinny? I am not a headphone or ear bud user and never will be! I can only imagine that bad sounding or tinny sounding earphones or buds would be a worse!
I am not a fan of the laptop style power adapter they use. Really that may be compatible with some laptops since many do use 19 volts to run or charge the batteries. I know they had their reasons for it but they didn't have to make the end of it L shaped!! That is only good for putting lateral stress on the port if the brick falls down like from a desk or there is no place to set the F-ing stupid thing!
I have a 4090 rtx and I was wanting 3 of these for a 3 mount monitor Vesa setup. Are there triple mounts that will be able to handle 3 of these at once? I do video rendering, 3d art and a bit of game development and of course gaming which is why I want 3 screens.
Hi. This monitor is on offer in the UK right now at £485 and I'm seriously considering it. I'm currently on a LG UL500-W 4K screen which suffers from low brightness. Is the G7 a good choice for gaming and dev work?
Seeing it on Samsung website/Currys for £500 so I am going to buy 1 now. Going to see how it runs for the next few months and then hoping to pick up another one when Black Friday hits to complete a dual monitor setup.
Hi I have this monitor but how do I play the sound out loud with the ps5 as it only comes through a headset connected to controller? Also is it possible to connect a sound bar rather than use headset. If so how? Thankyou
I’m having issues where when HDR and VRR is on both the monitor and PS5, whenever I switch games or go back to games menu or even mid game the screen switches off and comes back on in like 5-10 seconds
can you try fifa 22 on PS5 without adaptive Sync and on the Monitor With 120hz or 144 . That Game in Match Lags if you Play a fast pass . Why the Monitor cant handle this ? Thx
Hey man, love your video and dropped a follow :) Having a lot of trouble setting this monitor with ps5. Colors are washed out and weird. tried every option. Using it with HDR turned on on PS5 Would help if someone share setup for this monitor. I am probably doing something wrong
Turn HDR Off* or you may have to recalibrate your console HDR in the settings where you change how bright and how dark it can show by using a slider or tapping left/right on the d pad!
thank you, did hdr recalibration but just doesnt look good, somewhere too bright, in dark areas to dim, tried everything so definetly gonna try turning HDR off and go with SDR.. Cheers :) @@TooMuchTech
Got this for just under $300 open box on BestBuy but.. unfortunately, I feel like the monitor is way too dim coming from an ROG monitor. It's frustrating cause it's such a good monitor.
In my experience you will notice faster response and smoother clean motion if the port signal settings are set to (PC) instead of (AV).. In wich it will drop to the best performance resolution. This case is 1080p and set up the FPS to 120hz. And run it at EXTREME. Free sync OFF, low input lag ON. HDR OFF. I will still feel almost like in a sweet spot between 1080 and 4k.. "1440" feel. It weird but feels perfect
can you please tell me if you can get nvidia DLDSR working with this monitor ?? thanks you as I have just purchased this monitor and can not get DLDSR to work with it and it worked fine with my old monitor
Is antone using this monitor at the moment woth rhe ps5? Im having issues trying to play call of duty. No matter what settings i use i keep getting a noticeabld lag. Reallg obvious when aiming down sight. It literally jumps. Cant seem to fix it. Have updated to the newest software.
How to enable 4k on Xbox with this monitor?I connected today on series X and not give me 4k option even not give me 1440p at 120hz but monitor have 2.1
Is anybody having this issue where It can only get 144Hz when it’s on 1440 but when it’s on 4k I don’t get the option for 144Hz , I don’t know what’s wrong and I’ve tried this on both display port and HDMI , checked all settings and nothing ,can someone help
Its a good looking monitor, but I cant get the ARK out of my head since seeing it at CES... bad financial decisions incoming. Great work as always mate, keep it up 💪
I just got mine on sale for 599.00 Can't wait its my first 4k monitor sadly had to go buy me new graphics card just get good fps at 4k but I believe it will be worth it
Salutations!! Um could I use this monitor on my Ps4. I still haven't been luck enough to get the Ps5!😕 I'm glad I found your channel your delivery is great. You still speak in a lingo that's over my head 😄! I'm such noob, but I'll get their!! Lol
What is the bar on top of the monitor ? And is this good for games that still play in 60 hz like mlb the show and most sports titles dealing with input lag thanks.
