The background videos are the music videos for DNA. and ELEMENT. The covers used were mainly fan made or just alternate covers I found on the internet.
U know what, I'm new into hip hop, I started listening 6 months ago....and i quite liked god and it's flow.... And later I saw people saying it's one of his worst songs and I was like holy fuck...😂😂😂
@@sameersayyad6170Thats the thing with kendrick he dosent make bad songs so when people say worst they just mean worser than his other stuff but not worst as in trash
Lust is so slept on man, my favorite part is at the end when he says 'lately i been feeling like james 4:4, say friend of the world is enemy of the lord'
My favourite part of humble is "My left stroke just went viral, right stroke put lil baby in a spiral, soprano C, we like to keep it on the high note, it's levels to it you and I know." right into the hook.
It does sound the same though. It's meant to. It portrays the way our culture gets people trapped in a routine of sin as we are dragged along. It's great because of its consistency. It's meant to feel like operating in a haze.
*MY PERSONAL FAVORITES* BLOOD. - last 15 seconds (wicked side) The ending with the gunshot and the news reporter sound clip. Shows the wickedness side ending when the media misrepresenting Kendrick’s art but he’s dead so he can’t do anything about it. DNA - the first part of the song where he lists what’s in his DNA. Again, the wickedness side of the album really reveals itself here. It’s Kendrick standing on his last 2 feet showing what he’s about just before he dies YAH. - the part where he says “Deuteronomy says we’ve all been cursed. I know he walks the earth, but it’s money to get, bitches to hit.” This is Kendrick admitting that he must commit to finding god, but is too stuck in his ways to change. (1/2 of my favorites in this album) ELEMENT. - Same, solid song overall FEEL. - from 2:45 till 3:00 in the song is my favorite This is one of 3 songs where I don’t like the 1st half but I love the 2nd end. This is the first. The feeling of frustration in dot’s voice throughout that last verse just hits different. It’s kinda like the treat at the end of a shitty road LOYALTY. - the part where they say “It’s so hard to be humble” Another one of the many subtle hints Kendrick puts out to tell first timers to listen to DAMN in reverse. The beat overall too is underrated where it also has that sound of shit being rewinded. The hints of the wickedness side were there all along PRIDE. - the “maybe I wasn’t there” part of the song. Probably my favorite part of the weakness side. The part where Kendrick thinks about another universe where he wasn’t at the end of Blood. The old blind lady never killed him. Shit you don’t recognize till many album listens later HUMBLE. - The main chorus for me. I listen to the “sit down, be humble” line at first I didn’t like it cuz it was overplayed, but now when I do, it’s either weakness where Kendrick tells himself to be humble or wickedness where kendrick tells others he’s better and they should humble themselves. LUST. - Kendrick says “lookin for confirmation, hoping the election wasn’t true…times passing, things change, revertin back to our daily programs, stuck in our ways” Kendrick speak facts. But also shows how disconnected the American citizens are with its own government and react when it’s on the media but if it’s out of sight then out of mind. LOVE. - Love or lust? Another Kendrick hint telling us to listen to the album in reverse. Weakness means giving up lust and finding love. Wickedness means give up on love, find lust. Much like loyalty, it kinda feels like the bridge that leads to the wicked side of the album which is surprising cuz how positive the song sounds. XXX. - god damn idek where to start. Either the “I can’t sugar coat it, if someone kills my son then somebody gettin killed.” Or the “let somebody touch my momma, touch my sister, touch my woman…” This is Kendrick answering riri’s question on loyalty: “is there anybody you’d slide for? Anybody that you’d die for?” But he avoids the part where she says “that’s what god’s for” FEAR. - my 2nd favorite underrated song in the album. Favorite part “if I could smoke fear away, I’d roll that mf up…and then I’d take 2 puffs. I’m high now.” That’s the best part to spark a blunt. Kendrick talks about all his fears and just smokes it away. Felt. GOD. - “I asked you for a piece of mind, you charged me for it. I wanna see sometimes if you ignore it.” Kendrick speaks to god and talks about how he had to face much loss before finding a true connection with god. To the point where he questions if god was even there to listen to his requests. DUCKWORTH. - “if Anthony killed ducky…” We all know why. Thanks for reading, lmk your thoughts on my shit 🫡
Not having "You take two strangers and put 'em in random predicaments give 'em a soul..." part at Duckworth is criminal. The rhyme goes hard and the message almost gives me hope in humanity
Idk if it’s just me but the intro of humble has two versions. There is one version from the music vid and the other was the one shown in the vid. It kinda interesting for me
the "Is it Wickedness, Is it weakness" depends on how you listen to the track. if you listen to it from the first track, its Weakness, if you listen to it from the last track, its Wickedness
blood was the introduction and the line that you said was the best was most important but the “you lost your life” was too hard then it repeated is it wickedness ngl i would’ve went for that instead
I will not tolerate the slight hate for LUST. The beat is honestly one of my favorites out of the entire album and the lyrics are just as great imo. I didn't know GOD. was so "hated" as well, lmao. I don't mind it
lust definitely aint his best but the part at the end where he just says "LUST." and that guitar kicks in is gold. As you said the whole track sounds basically the same all the way through, but that part feels like a disruption, like waking up from the routine kendrick speaks of. Just cool imo
I love how these have justifications. It's like we can try to understand why this guy actually thinks these were the best from each songs. Allows for more constructive conversations and deeper analysis.
