Honestly didn't know where to start when it comes to preparing for Duolingo as I felt the pressure of needing to achieve a high score (120) to meet the requirements of my application. After a couple of practice tests and the tips you provide on your channel, I scored a 135. So so happy. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for all your help, teacher Luke! I got my results back today and got a 145! I was surprised as my practice results had all been around 110-130 in the last couple of days (only once I got 120-140). It's all thanks to your videos, they really made all the difference in my test!

Thank you Teacher Luke! I just got my results and I scored an overall of 150! It took 3 days. Watched about 12 of your videos, just practised through them as I go. Also sat through almost 4 "Full Test" videos, 3 from yours and 1 from others. The biggest confidence booster was your speak or write about the picture strategy. It also helped me align my thoughts in a well-organized manner. I recommend the same for everyone. I do also recommend taking time to practise through the free tests available everywhere. They boost your confidence like no other and help you perform your best. All the best!

Thanks teacher, just received my certified result. Got 130. Short note: Duolingo isn’t so hard, you can achieve a good score only by practicing for a week. If you follow the rules your result will be certified on your 1st attempt.

@@mahi.2002 Sure, basically what I did was to focus on learning how to answer the test. Despite the fact that you already have to have certain level of English, my main focus was on how to answer each portion of the test and then I practiced and practiced and practiced

I just finished my DET! I am pretty much a native English speaker (studied at schools where English is the primary language for grades 1-12) and I took the SAT and AP English Lang Exam as well, so I thought I'd do well (I also watched a ton of your videos), but I feel like I messed up while doing the exam due to the timer. I hope I get a 135+ and don't have to retake it! Thanks for all the help with especially the writing and speaking aspects! Those ended up going better than the Fill in the blank ones, even though I was quite confident about the fill in the blank questions.

Dear Teacher Luke, thank you for your video, I watched about 10's of yours, did 3 times Duolingo practice test, got 110-130, 105-120, and 110-130. At the time of the real test, I have a hard time to start the test (download the test for 10minutes, 15minutes, last time I waited until 30minutes, then after 2 days and 3 failed start, I changed my wifi to another provider which then started the test right away...tadaa). The real test was harder than the practice, especially the "describe the picture" test (which I only able to write 2 sentences, instead my plan 4) and "fill in the blank" test (which sometimes I don't know the answer). Surprisingly, after sometimes waiting in frustation, I got 120 total result (althou low in production), but since my US uni only need minimum DET 105, I been accepted to my uni. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR EFFORT TO HELP US ALL 🙏🙏🙏

I’m very nervous. I am aware that I need to practice my English, I still have a long way to go. But I have to take the DET next week, meaning that I don’t have much time left to study 😅 But watching your videos has helped me so much. Describing and talking about a photo is definitely hard.

Hi Luke, yesterday i took Duolingo English Test but i was surprised to know actually english test is totally different for me because i practiced with your video but the test format is different which i received yesterday. Received Two time interactive passage approx 7 minutes each passage. Two time writing 5 minutes each, as you said we will receive only once. 4 Times image describe in writing. And 3 times speaking each question like a cue card speaking and describing.

I got 100 overall, while 105 in literacy,110 in comprehensive, 85 in conversation and 75 in production. First time, I look away from the screen for an extended period, secondly i didn't turn off notification, so read the rules carefully and take the practice test as if you are taking the real one, it will help you practice to look at the screen for the entire time.

how i wish that you had atleast 50 descriptive photos with sample answers. descriptive and speaking are toughest and their is no practice on youtube. Sad
