We all know that adjustable gas blocks help regulate gas, make shooting suppressed better and so on. But they are a pain! Having to bring with tools, long hex keys. to get under the rail, all those days are gone. This is the best, most rugged way to approach the adjustable gas block that I've ever seen.

I have 1100 rounds on my 18” SPR with the RifleSpeed gas block. I never clean it, just put two drops of oil on the plunger and rotate the ring twice after every range session. No issues and no plunger erosion with full power 556.

What length gas system, handguard, and selector do you have? I have a 18inch with rifle length and a 15 inch handguard. Thinking about choosing the 3.3 inch selector but I want to make sure it’ll be long enough.

I like the superlative arms adjustable gas blocks. Excess gas goes out the front of the block. Not into your action or suppressor. You do need a Allen to adjust but they're easy to tune and cheaper at around $85.00
@lyfandeth
@lyfandeth 11 месяцев назад
The other point, is that if you allow just enough gas for reliable ejection, you get more gas behind the bullet and more velocity. Which is why the FAL has one from the factory. FALs can also SHUT the gas completely, making the gun into a bolt action, but putting all the power behind the bullet. Nice that after 50 years, someone added a simple gas regulator for the AR.
@fastshuther
@fastshuther 8 месяцев назад
Would love the bolt action adaption to the ar 15, would you be able to shut the gas completely with this regulator?
@mikelane2258
@mikelane2258 6 месяцев назад
I've seen test of rifles with the gas block fully open and also fully shut. The difference in velocity is negligible. As in less than 10 fps. It is kind of surprising, but it doesn't make much of a difference.

I think the plunger can wear from excessive firing, I think 8.6 or 300 blackout would work really well
@ShepherdOfTheSilkies
@ShepherdOfTheSilkies 11 месяцев назад
I own multiple of them but I don’t recommend it for either of those. Because the range on it is not enough to go from supers to subs and the plungers don’t get out of the way enough. Couldn’t get a 300 blackout with subs(only supers cycled violently) to cycle with a .846 plunger(smallest one then cut it down further). On setting 12(wide open) 1.2 ounce buffer 11 ounce BCG, and subsonic 300 blackout spring. Swapped it out for a standard one and the gun cycled too fast. The gas block lives on my 22” Grendel precision gun now. That works fine. It really can only keep a tune in the range of max pressure 5.56 to min pressure 223 with and without a suppressor. If you want it to work you have to max out the efficiency of your gun and MAYBE you’ll get lucky but get ready to blow money on expensive ammo.
