Hey guys, thankyou so much for watching our video! We can’t believe the amount of love we have received from all of you! I just wanted to add that I have fixed the subtitles, it’s now available in a dozen different languages. Please let me know if something is incorrect so I can work on fixing that in the following videos. As always, if you haven’t already, please SUBSCRIBE! 😬😬
Probably the only airport in the world where families travel there in the evenings, or where parents bring their kids to shop, dine, and play on weekends. In contrast, I've been to airports in other countries where I just can't wait to get out. 😅
@@philippelee5720Singapore may be small, but pack a punch. Places of interest everywhere, and easily accessible by world class public transport and road system, the best ranked in the world. And most importantly, the traveller friendly street signs, in English, the international language known to 58% of the world population. Notices and signs are also in Mandarin, Malay and Tamil, official languages of Singapore.
We have decentralised security screening at Changi Airport Terminals 1, 2 and 3. So you go through security screening at each departure gate. In most airports (and also terminal 4 here in Changi Airport), all passengers go through a common screening first. So you may end up having to go to the airport much earlier because the queue will be longer and potentially you might miss your flight because of people queuing for other flights. Yeah it might be more expensive for the airport to operate using the decentralised system but it is better for the passengers.
@@EmmieandPaulno you didn’t. You only went though security once, at the gate specific to your flight. This way, the queue for security can only get as big as the number of people on the same flight as you. Thus decreasing the chance that you might miss your plane because of huge queues at security. I wish every airport did it the way Changi does. I’ve missed planes before getting stuck in a huge queue through security when the staff wouldn’t let me through the fast lane in other airports around the world when transiting. As for water - if you bring an empty bottle, there is a water fountain in every waiting room of every boarding gate in Changi airport where you can fill up your bottle right before getting onto the plane.
As an expat living in Singapore, my first introduction to the country I have come to adore and respect so much was Changi and I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was shockingly well organized and orderly and fast. Little did I know things were absolutely marvelous everywhere. Visit and you will not regret it. ❤😊 I pinch myself every day I get to live here.
Even if you didn’t go through immigration/border control, there is a butterfly garden, a free cinema, a pool, a sunflower garden, etc… across all 3 terminals of Changi airport on the transit side. For people who want to remain in transit, they can get a glimpse of the Jewel by taking the sky train (monorail) from terminal 2 to 3 from the transit side. You can hardly get bored at Changi even if you remain on the transit side. Changi won best airport not just because of Jewel.
A free cinema!? A pool!? What 🤯 We need to go back 😂 we ran out of time after seeing the Jewel! Great tip about the sky train 👏🏽 Thank you for watching!
@@EmmieandPaul exactly, u only seen a small part of our airport. Come explore more the next time u are here. We may be a small country but we have got lotsa to offer! 😂
in no particular order the pool is free. the luggage carts are free got to pay in the USA. They have 2 giant slides 4 stories high you can have fun on. They have a real go karts track!! They have a giant chandelier piece of art that goes from the ceiling to the floor and you can walk around inside it and climb up. They have kids indoor playgrounds in various terminals. They have rock climbing, cactus garden. dinosaur themed running track outdoors, Places to sleep and bathe temporarily. Discovery garden, discovery slides- different slides than I mentioned. Heritage zone which is Peranakan style shop houses with beautiful fake house above them but what's nice is that in the center they use projectors to make it come alive and put on a show for everyone , As usual Singapore has tons of unique seating everywhere its awesome. Tv lounges, indoor bicycles you can exercise with other people and see everything on a giant screen . They also have bikes to exercise to power your phone if you want or just use the free power provided. waterfall screen. sunflower garden , cactus garden, multiplayer video game area, mirror maze, dream scape, enchanted garden, flap pix, and so much more. They have a huge mall to shop . THEY ALSO GIVE FREE TOURS AROUND SINGAPORE for people with long layovers. Try the kuah la pis Indonesian layered cake. Its a small layered spiced cake. It has many layers its moist and soft has balanced flavor not to sweet. You can buy the best version of the cake at bengawan solo its only a couple bucks in sgd for a small piece which is how they sell it. A whole cake is about 80-100 sgd. The airport has a couple of spots for decent food but you really want to go out of the airport to get the best food as usual. www.changiairport.com/en/discover/attractions.html#/filter?tab=all
@@turtlechomper5361great write up that! I must say I haven’t seen all that you mentioned. A friend of mine said that he’d book a flight that transits Changi whenever he goes on a long haul trip just so he has a few hours to wander around the airport!
The "outer" "security screen" isn't really security, it's just a counter where you get your passports stamped, which is why they need to put it outside. The security screening is really that inner one at each gate which is done this way to avoid causing a huge congestion in a single location.
Yeah, it makes sense now that it’s been explained 😂 now I understand it, it’s actually much smarter, just don’t forget to bring an empty water bottle 😆😆
@@EmmieandPaul The water bottle one is a bit more ... exotic. Lots of things can be smuggled in water. Drugs are the most mild. Acid or a makeshift molotov cocktail would be a terrorist's pride and joy if they could get it through. Imagine being stuck in a metal tube on fire with no way out or have acid eat through a fuselage at high altitude. Instant decompression. Boom!
Reflect: Thanks Emmie and Paul for your lovely and friendly introduction about Singapore luxury Airport. Indeed the beauty and the success of City Singapore are contributing by the entire regional nations especially neighboring Countries. By depending ONLY on Singapore's own efforts, Singapore can never be succeeded without the help of Her neighboring resources (including manpower; foreign talents; foreign labours; etc). Thank God for Southeast Asia, a truly Asian Nations. May God bless all people around the world who really appreciate the peaceful; harmony and the beauty of Southeast Asia. @@EmmieandPaul Appreciate your words of encouragement. Indeed the MOST EFFECTIVE ways to help all visitors to understand about Singapore is via your participation in social work. If you are really keen to know the entire City situation, don't spend too much time at the luxury Airport or Orchard Shopping Mall, but take part in social work to help the needy people in Singapore. If you loved the needy people, meaning that you really loved Singapore as a whole. Otherwise this love is incomplete. God Is Love! 🙏🏻💕🌻🌎💕🌈
@@EmmieandPaulhi, being a local here, seems like yall r here in transit, pls do come back n visit us...tho, the country size might seems unappealing, (physically small in size), but do drop by n explore, we welcome u with open arms...🤗...however when u really steps into our country, it's like a small little world...due to the fact tat our culture is like a melting pot of culture...we have, Chinese, Malay, Indian n Eurasian...n also another mix culture which is the Peranakan www.nhb.gov.sg/peranakanmuseum/..... Due to the fact tat Sir Stamford Raffles founded tis little country, he was the 1 who organised all the 4 races into different locations...the Chinatown, the little India, n Kampong Glam...each location will literally transport u to certain locations in the world😂 There r even certain parts of government buildings like The Istana www.istana.gov.sg/ which will be open to the public at certain time of the year...do drop by...not only that due to the fact tat we were once under the British colony, there's still multiple beautiful colonial buildings which also encompasses lots of our culture food... It's really unique, n u must visit us n try our local food... Tho we dun have the luxury of land space for fruits plantation, but most of our fruits r imported from Malaysia, most popular 1 is the king of fruits, durain😂which r harvest during July/Aug n Dec, mangosteen season falls on the same month of Durian...etc... Not only tat Singapore does have other tiny islands which r still under the Singapore jurisdiction, islands like, Kusu island, Sentosa, Pulau Ubin, St John Island etc...each island has its own uniqueness.... So there's a lot to explore in our little country😂even being a local myself, haven't even finish exploring my own country, our government already started upgrading some locations 😂... Oh ya there's also another location which is very much neglected by the tourists, n best part it's free entrance...The Haw Par Villa...it was built by a Burmese merchant...check them up...enjoy ur visit to Singapore the next time🥰 Our festive seasons following tat wud b: Christmas 2024 English New year January Lunar New Year February Good Friday March Hari Raya Puasa April N if u return in the month of April during Muslim fasting, they do organise bazaar for everyone but certain sitting locations r meant for Muslims to break fast... Cya n enjoy in ur next visit here😅❤
one of the many reasons why we got security at the gates is so that we can better provide a bespoke service for different passengers..eg: china flights we try to have someone that can speak mandarin etc..
We are building terminal 5. It is terminal 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 combined and it is 1 and a half times bigger than the 4 terminal combine. It is so huge and beautiful and a rainforest, you need to come back to Singapore as it is the best airport in the world. You love Singapore.
At Changi airport, you go through ticketing, put your luggage there, go through immigration. There's no checking of luggage. The checking of luggage happen one time only which is at the gate. Unlike other airports, where you need to go through security the moment you pass immigration hence creating congestion when queuing, the congesting happen at the gate.
You missed out on the interesting route to see the Jewel waterfall and that route doesn't need you to get out of the transit area (airside).. Look for the Skytrain within the terminal. You need to take the one that connects between terminal 2 and terminal 3 because that skytrain ride will go thru the centre of the forest and the waterfall will be right outside the train cabin window. Maybe on your way back to Australia, if you are still transiting in Singapore, give it a try!!! Also, if you happen to be in terminal 3, try Bacha coffee at the corner of the terminal, it's super fancy! You get a glass straw with cold coffee! Only the huge corner store sells coffee to drink on the spot, all the smaller stores only sell them in boxes. Get the croissant too, it's delicious!
Thank you so much for this comment! We will definitely have to go back and try the skytrain 😍 We are travelling full time through South East Asia currently, we would love to come back & stay in Singapore 🇸🇬 Thank you for the coffee suggestion! We love a good coffee & croissant 😍 🙏🏼
For T1, T2 & T3, there is a security check when u enter u flight gate. If u need water for u flight especially budget airline, Pls empty all u water from u bottle/containers before the security check.. After u check in, there is water cooler inside the gate holding area. Hot water is also available most of the time... For T4, the security check is immediately after the immigration. There is water cooler/hot water all around this terminal (mostly outside the bathroom). There is no more security check at the gate for T4. Fyi. Free WiFi at all terminals including jewel.... Enjoy 🇸🇬 !
If you have a 5 hr or more layover in Changi Airport, you are entitled to take a free city tour that brings you outside to places such as Gardens by the Bay. Changi also has cinemas and swimming pools.
There's actually nothing which happens at Yishun now, since we cleaned the craziness. Other residents r just jealous that Yishun area has the best eating places within and nearby.
Actually, Yishun is as interesting as the next housing estate. It just have a somewhat (perceived) higher rate of odd news and crime. I don't know about the food though. Singapore have public service posters that say: "Low crime doesn't mean No Crime" to remind people to properly keep their belongings. So yeah, Yishun is as interesting as it gets. Lololol
No we didn’t, we weren’t aware of them until the last few days so we just went and visited to see the facility. We are definitely going to go back in a couple of months and spend a week or so there! Did you see our previous video ? It’s an incredible foundation.
Thank You for the video. To give you some feedback. We were seeing your face a lot and a little of what you were seeing. while we do want to see you guys and your expressions etc we want to see what you are seeing. I wish you the best and thanks again I will subscribe for future videos.
They need to redo the steps and navigation for Changi airport. Whole place looks confusing af, you need a bachelor degree to know what to do and where to go to board the plane and the whole convoluted checkin/documents process.
Singapore authorities digitalise and automates their immigration entry processes yet some tourist find it a hassle and didnt like it. Singapore Government should get a survey done and see how they can further improve the process.
The SGArrival card is very simple and most importantly it is free! Other countries are charging their digital D/E card (such as Australia and EU (from 2024).
Oh you dont need to go to level 5 and pay to see the view if the waterfall, you can just go to any other level and access to the rainforest area to take pictures. Come at night too, there will be light show on the waterfall at 8pm 😊
Come back for as many days as u feel u want to pay for hotel. Food bost is negligible if u eat at hawker centres n there's nature reserves n nice buildings to occupy Ur time. Try d local coffee roasted with butter n sugar. I've only taken Starbucks once.
T2 just reopened few weeks ago after undergoing massive refurbishment. Changi Airport just started its construction of T5, which will be larger than all 3 terminals combined! It should be ready in 10years time 😂
You think Singapore airport is great because you haven't been to Los Angeles airport obviously. We have better immigration process, customs clearance , overall cleanliness and customer satisfaction by far. Visit L.A and see for yourself.
The most expensive part time ministers in the world , highest cist of luving in the world with least population un the world with special priviledge , before buying a car you have to pay S$120,009 to vuy a piece of paper called certificate of entitlement with 10 years validity additional of around S$150,000 for the car itself and nych more "" priviledges "" .
@@EmmieandPaul there are lots more crazy tax profiteering than u could imagine , most singaporeans have been struggling , suffering , stressed in silence , ministers are doing part time once a week on every monday night , 90% of their time are spend on personal family businesses .
I'm a Singaporean. I wonder what's the fuss about an airport. No matter how nice it is, it's not the destination. It's like a bus stop. It's just a stop along the way to a destination. It should not be memorable. If it's something I notice, then there's a problem with the journey. An airport just need to be EFFICIENT and not be a bottleneck.
@@kyeo7077 You talk like a kid - fascinated with airports. I've been through them like they are bus stops. In my 35 years of business/personal travel, I have gone through airports in many cities - MULTIPLE times - New York, LA, SF, Orlando, Washington DC, Vancouver, Minneapolis, Istanbul, Malaga, Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Rome, Venice, Milan, Zurich, Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Harbin, Changchun, Qingdao, Sanya, Kunming, HK, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Seoul, Johannesburg, Taipei, Osaka, Tokyo, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Cairns, Brisbane, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, HochiMinh City, Hanoi, Bangkok, Bali, Jakarta, Phuket, Guam, Manila, Doha, and many more ........ How many have you traveled to?
@@desmondkwang5945 I see your previous reply and think it's amusing you need to edit and list down all your cities like a primary 3 showing off his trophies, it's embarrassing actually. I've also travelled enough to understand how a airport creates the first impression for travellers. And as a Singaporean you don't understand what it takes for Singapore to operate as a hub. As much as you enjoy fleeting memories, there are others who enjoy to take in what they see and not be a bitter person.
Welcome to foreign Money Launderer's Country. A 'Dubai' wannabe but cant'be. There's nothing much to see or enjoy in Singapore. Money's worth is places like Dubai, Thailand or Japan.
Singapore never aspired to be like Dubai! Dubai don’t really invest in their people like Singapore do where Singapore have good schools for their kids to get a good education. Our university is ranked in the top 20 in the world.
@@Sky-8646Jealousy at play. Let say the best airport is in Europe or USA they will said it to be expected. Singapore the best in the world overrated! Must be joking.
