Another great video. Dry fly fishing will always be special for me because it’s one of the first things my grandpa taught me. Foraging is also super interesting and it would be great to see more of that. I do like when you talk through the recipes in the cooking section.

Like seeing the fly fishing content. The golden stoneflies don't get as much press but often outnumber the salmonflies during the salmonfly hatch. Try tying a small nymph "dropper" off the stonefly dry fly with about 2 ft. Of 4x-5x tippet. The trout will often be attracted by the big stonefly but bite the nymph and then the dry fly acts as a strike indicator. You should consider doing a Bull Trout fishing episode, especially if you like trips to Central Oregon.

Casting those big stoneflies and salmon flies is fun when using dry flies. Try fishing a big, heavy nymph version of one. Hard to control it. As a kid growing up when I first started to learn fly fishing, casting those nymphs was called “Chuck & Duck!”, haha.

Floatant is your friend grease up that fluorocarbon leader and those Flies, even though they have that foam the rest of the material still get waterlogged. Put it on before you get it wet and you can fish those flies all day without swapping them out

Heck you got your boots on let's go dancing with some salmon flies catch a couple fish then do some cooking 😊

Hey brother you’re in my home area, next time hit Hwy35 in Hood River to 26 to get to that river. Lots of morels and other foraging all the way to Mt. Hood. The sights are a lot better than looking at wheat fields.

I camped there with my dad when I was a kid, I remember it was super deep and great trout fishing and huge Browns cruising the banks. Mind you this was over 40 yrs ago!
