When I was in Houston area OWA 107 is very difficult to find and if you do find it it is at secondary market pricing. Thanks for these alternatives it really helps.

I can walk down the street and get the Weller Special Reserve, the 12, the Antique 107 or the BP for large markups....won't do it. The 12 is ok but not worth it. The 107, to me, drinks hot and the Special Reserve is just so so. I found a McKenna's and it was meh. If I want a wheated I'll get some MM offering or Bernheim. I'm done chasing unicorns. I've got 8 or 9 solid bottles I really like and are available. Knob Creeks, Rare Breed, Hard Truth, Coopers Craft Reserve, Rendezvous Rye, most any Old Forester...too many good bottles out there.

Great idea for a video. I think out of all the Weller lineup, Weller 12 is the one I want to find the most. Had a great pour of it in Louisville on vacation. Gotta try your recommendations for the alternatives. Cheers

Nice alternatives. I have only been able to find and buy Weller Special Reserve and Weller Full Proof. I will pick up the 107 and 12 Year, if I can find them at MSRP or a reasonable price. I am a big fan of Knob Creek 12 and I like SmokeWagon Uncut Unfiltered. 1792 small batch and full proof are the only bottles I see in my area. I had to order online 1792 BIB and 1792 Single Barrel. 1792 12 Year is on my radar, if I can find. Great video.

Cheers Dave. 1792 12 year is a great dram. I would pay up to $100 for my first time. I think MSRP sits at about $80 these days, or at least here in Colorado if and when it comes up.

I regularly see the Weller SR on shelves here in Houston, but that’s about it. I gravitate toward wheaters so Makers is always a good substitute for me. Great video. Good to see you behind the bar.

Thanks for the comment Doug. Wheaters have a special place in my heart and I think they make some of the best bourbons out there. When I was out in Texas that's all I could find was Weller SR apart from a Weller 12 which was highly priced.
