Thank you for asking questions about the weather. I think you will have a great trip no matter which seasons you visit. Any seasons have a charm. July and August is the best 2 months for me with fire works festivals.
I visited in early november last year. The weather was perfect for me, 20 - 25 C and no rain. Some trees was getting fall leaves making the place even more colourful.
How were the flight fares? I’m planning to visit Japan this year, but which of the 3 months is the best to go? I mean weather/priceswise etc? I know March to April can be very expensive, due to famous festivals and high season, while June to August can be incredibly hot..If you got any tips for me, feel free to respond. Thanks
@@ParaSF4 I don't fly regularly enough to tell if the fares are better or worse than average. I _can_ tell you that a flight with Finnair from Stockholm via Helsinki to Tokyo and back, flying out on 29 October and home 18 November, cost me 15 600 SEK. I have been told that May, apart from Golden Week, is pleasant for us scandinavians, as are October and November. June and July are rainy, and August - September are typhoon season in addition to still being hot and humid in general. I'd very much like to experience the cherry blossoms or Christmas lights, though.
This was very helpful. I'm making plans to solo travel to Tokyo, and it looks like After Golden Week works best for me as my first solo trip. Then my 2nd trip can be last week of October - first week of November.
How exciting that you are thinking of 2 trips to Japan. After Golden week is my favorite season with lots of greens. I think late October is also nice season as Autumn starts. I wish you the best trip to Japan. :)
Hello! My family and I are planning on going to Tokyo in June. (Little ones 10,4,2) Would begging of June be best or end of June? Would that even make a difference on weather?
Thank you for submitting this data. Which Narita Airport location is ideal for booking hotels in December? One close to Disney World and the street food market?
I like many places but somewhere I like to go frequently is hot-springs in the mountain regions especially in winter, also Hokkaido, Okinawa islands, and Kyoto. I'm working on the similar topic video "where to go in Japan". :)
Hey there, first of all, thank you so much for this amazing video. It was amazing and really informative. Would you recommend to visit Japan on February? It’s the only time, I can do it, through my university.. I’m not into ski and stuff, more sightseeing. I would probably stay for a month and travel around..
Hello. Thank you for watching. The weather is cold in February, but as long as that is ok with you, I think it's a great time to travel. Usually no snow in Tokyo and Kansai, so you can easily get around places. Trees are dead and not the best looking maybe, but if that is your time you can visit, nothing is wrong with February. :)
Hi Mr. Kenchan san, I'm looking at potentially traveling to Japan from May 27th to June 11th. Cities of interest will include Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and others I'm not sure of yet. Will it be raining a lot and humid around the date I'm looking to travel?
I am visiting Tokyo, Lake Kawaguchi, Kyoto, Osaka and Nara for 2 weeks in January. Is it worth coming in Jan when the trees are all out of leaves or not worth it, can you please suggest?
Could anyone advice me whether I should visit Japan around 19 Sep - 5 Oct 2023 (first choice) or 16 - 30 Mar 2024 (second choice) in terms of the typhoon weather during first choice and Sakura time during second choice (which means overly crowded place, pricy accommodations, and JR PASS increase) ? I would be going around this area. Osaka/Kyoto (stay for 6 nights) Hiroshima/Miyajima Island (day trip from Osaka) Osaka - Tokyo Kamakura (day trip from Tokyo) Hakone (day trip from Tokyo) Fujikawaguchiko (2 nights) Back to Tokyo THANKS IN ADVANCE 😁😁🙏
Thanks for the great video, Is Jan 22th to Feb 10th a good time to visit Japan in 2024 to enjoy the winter scenes (Places: Tokyo, kyoto, Nara and osaka) if not is there any other winter/snow places i can enjoy visiting during this time?
If you like to see the snow for sure, you usually don't see it in those cities like Tokyo and Osaka. Probably you can make a trip to mountain regions in Gifu, Nagano, or Tohoku, Hokkaido.Thank you for watching. :)
Hi, I'll be traveling on September 13-17. Need advice if i need to wear thick clothes or sweaters are fine? Or maybe shirts? Also, is it rainy during mid-September? Thanks
Hi, thanks for the video it is very helpful!! Me and my family will be going to Japan on August 23 until September 5. Can you please tell me if the weather is still hot in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto?? and do i need to bring umbrella or cap?? Thank youu
Hi, thank you. :) usually during your travel period, it can be hot and humid in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. You can bring your foldable umbrella 🌂 but you can also purchase here if the weather is not good.
So with work commitments etc. The two choices i have to visit this year are 23rd may for 2 weeks, or early September. Which should i go for? Felt like late May was perfect but now idk
I think late May for the weater. We don't know how the weather will be actually, but early September is very hot usually and has possibility of typhoon too. Again we can't predict the actual weather, but May is one of the best season temperature wise.
I can only travel from june 15 - 29 june or 30 june - 14 july. Is it really that bad with the rain? what time window would you recommend from the ones i mentioned?
@@theubiwhovian Had to come up with an option C because of my friend. Our trip will be now from July 20th - August 4th. It got more expensive but we should not have to worry about the weather.
Hello, please suggest 2- 10, 9-17, 16-23 September which will be best week? Any difference in weather in these weeks? Any chances of typhoons? Thank you so mch for replying to all comments:)
Hello. I'm sorry I cannot tell which week is better for the weather. Typhoon can come anytime until early Autumn, but if you are going to visit Nikko or mountain area, the color starts to change in late September.
Im planning to go to Japan in January 2024 for 21 days. Do you recommend it and what is nice to visit during that month? It’s my first time. Have a nice day! 😊
Hello sir. Hope u keeping well. How is japan to visit towards September end and octber start? Which places we can cover and which main tourist attractions will be open? Thanks in advance
I was planning to go April 23 to May 14 in 2024 but heard that being in Japan during Golden Week isn't the best. Would March be okay? Or should I try for after Golden Week - - sometime in May?
End of March to April is still chilly but you see cherry-blossom everywhere. If you are interested in it, it's a great season that winter changes to spring. May is much warmer and green is beautiful after the Golden Week. I hope you come up with a great travel plan. :)
thank you :) also are there ubers around the fujiyoshida? we are planning to climb mount fuji and a little intimidated by the trip we need to take to get from our hotel to fifth station to begin our climb - we want to start around 6am @@tokyokenchan
If you had a choice, would do Aug 4th to Aug 15 or around end of April - early May for a first trip to Japan? Just thinking in terms of weather, traffic, city being busy etc. Thank you!
Season wise, end of April would be the best for everybody without worrying about summer heat or typhoon. Both of those dates comes with Japanese holiday Golden Week and Obon, then I would go for April. :)
It can be 30-38C in day time, and very humid. It depends on the favor and physical condition, also where you are from. I like summer in Tokyo and Kyoto as the day is longer, more events and easier to for cloth choice, somehow more beautiful taste in scenes, but it can be very hot in day time that might be hard for visitors from cooler country. Whichever season you visit, there is a way to enjoy. :)
Yes, July 29th, 2023 is Sumida River Fireworks festival in Asakusa area. www.sumidagawa-hanabi.com/ and Nagaoka in Niigata. nagaokamatsuri.com/en/ on August 2, 3.
Hi, the opening date changes every year, but for 2022 it seems Yeti ski resort opened by December, and Fujiten opened December 17. So you might be able to go yo Yeti but it’s the other side of mountain from Lake Kawaguchiko.
Hi. I don’t know if this is the right video to comment. But me and my wife are travelling to Japan around September/October or November (It depends which month is best, cheapest and nice weather) and we want to include South Korea on it as well, so a total of 2 weeks combined, between those 2 countries. My question is: How can I book the best tickets/accommodations for those countries instead of paying thousands of pounds, or booking seperate flights?
Hello. There are tons of LCCs and flights between many Japanese cities and Korea, so it might be easier to find flights between the two countries and fly back to either Japan or Korea. That way you can find the most reasonable flights between your country to either Seoul or Tokyo/Osaka etc. For accommodations, it relly depens on your favor, so you might want to put date and location on Google and find the cheapest sites. Usually weather is nicer in October and November as typhoon might come in September to Japan. But it changes every year.
@@tokyokenchan Thank you for your response. How is the weather in September/November? Warm? Does it rain a lot? Cloudy? Please let me know. Thank you sir!
I’ll be traveling to Japan from 16 to 23 May in 2023. I feel like it’s a transition period from spring to summer. I’m still not sure what clothes to wear. Will long sleeve shirt or t-shirt be fine? Or should I bring warmer clothes like sweatshirt or even jacket?
Thank you for the great question. In mid May, usually Tokyo is already warm enough for short sleeve, but always better to carry something long sleep so that you can add one layer in the evening. If you are from somewhere warm, it might feel cold. If you are from somewhere cold, it might be ok. If you are going to Hokkaido or higher mountain areas, you might want carry a jacket with you.
Hello! Your videos are great and very informative. Arigatogozaimasu! May be you can give your advise on this (not specifically about Tokyo)... I will be in Japan for about 5 weeks at least and no way to avoid Golden Week. Is there any part of the mainland you would recommend to "hide" from the crowds? I was thinking of renting a car in Sapporo and driving around Hokkaido and up to Wakkanai. Your thoughts and any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Hello, thank you for watching. This year, Golden Week is pretty long from April 29 to May 7th. Something get difficult during GW is getting seat on train, and airplane tickets get expensive, so I recommend you to make reservations in advance. You might want to book rental car soon if you are going to do driving trip. Once you get there, Hokkaido (except Sapporo) is probably not that busy and good place to drive around. The load to Wakkanai is nice. I'm going to do similar trip in the end of May. :)
Great to have your confirmation, and good to know GW is extra long this year. If I do this trip in Hokkaido, I'll try to share my experience. Best wishes!
Planning on visiting japan in early february next year, nothing in particular, just because I manage to get very cheap tickets for me and my wife. Any particulat attention I need to watch?
Hello. I think the weather is quite stable in February in Tokyo. Usually sunny and cold. If you go to the mountain side of Niigata or Tohoku, it's covered by heavy snow. ⛄️
Yes, Kyoto is always crowded but especially in Cherry blossom season and Fall season. But it worth visiting in my opinon. Please also see my other video of how to avoid crowd in Kyoto. :)
Hello. I think the end of November is good season to visit. Kyoto might be almost ending of colors, and Tokyo is in the peak. My Kyoto video (21 things to do) and "4 Temples to Visit in Tokyo" has the scenery from that season.
I’m going the 1st two weeks of september yo celebrate my bday. Does it using rain a lot dueing the 1st weeks? I’m worried about a typhoon that will ruin my plans. Can’t cancel package:(
About to book my flight for December 1-December 10. We going to be near Tokyo and surrounding cities. Would you say it’s nice weather? What can I expect
@@tokyokenchan even better, I was worried about it being everyday raining. ( even though it still can happen . ) want to go during that time so we can see the Christmas lights. What are good places you recommend eating/drinking at
How was your visit to Tokyo in May and how was the weather? I'm planning to go in May of 2025 (a few days after Golden Week). I've been torn between choosing May or Nov. But I like longer daylight days in May.
I am planning to go to Japan with my wife and kids but sadly I am only able to go there in July. I am just worried that the weather is too hot for my us to go to Disneyland and USJ, what do you think?
Hello, the parks are busy even during mid-summer, so people manage to enjoy the park in summer heat too. I like summer as I said at the end of the video. :)
Super video thank you! We are planning to visit Japan from May 27th to June 12th. What should we expect from a weather standpoint? Not too much rain I hope :(
Hello. Thank you for watching the video. The weather during that period is in transition from Spring to Summer, so it can be any weather. Usually the rainy season starts in early or mid June and lasts about a month. But even during the rainy season, it doesn't rain everyday :)
We are planning to travel to japan ( Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto) on the 1st week of july. Would you recommend it. We are traveling from London. Is it too much rain
It's usually in rainy season, but usually it doesn't rain everyday and sometimes not at all. Even if you avoid rainy season, it can rain anytime so I think you'll be fine. :)
