The Best and Worst Animal Designs on Animal Jam 

A huge deal breaker for me is always when items dont fit the animals correctly. No matter how pretty the model is, if the damn cloths are bending or clipping or weirdly placed/sized or anything like that I HATE it. Worst part is that you mostly cant know if items will fit onto the model of the animal before buying it.

Honestly I don't understand why so many people dislike the capybara, I personally think it's cute. But that's probably just because capybaras are my favorite animal and the animal jam model is very proportionally accurate to a real capybara

I DIDNT EVEN REALIZE WHO LONG THE NECK OF THE ARTIC WOLF IS-

Some of the old designs of the animals in the game are AMAZING, but ever since they added cats and dogs the designs started to… not look the best. I mean they made a "ripoff" of the German Shepherd with the Husky. But the BEST design has to be Sheep and Arctic Fox (in my opinion)

I love playing as the snow leopard, I tend to put a penguin feather tail (as a bobtail) on it and match color scheme, and there are so many outfits that go great with it (in my opinion)! My favorite outfits I’ve done are gentleman, dj, flower cat, traveler, bard, journalist, and some designs based on caracals and housecats. Glad to see someone else loves it! Also, I tend to dress my arctic wolf cute too, specifically like a fairy :3

I think the worse in game models has got to be the Husky and the German Shepherd "Corporate needs you to tell the difference between these two photos" "They're the same picture" it's literally that meme when it comes to their models

Komodo dragons definitely deserve more love, I agree with that. also, monster hats on the sheep look SOOOOO cute, especially when you use the color coordinater for the fluff color. pair that with the fluffy cat paws in whatever color you make the other color and voila, you have a fluffy creature.

I completely agree with you about the Zebra. It’s one of my new favorite animals in the game as well as the snow leopard. The snow leopard definitely deserves more attention :)

I think a big issue is how the eyes look, thanks to them being 3d models they kinda have no choice but to make them very… rigid? So if the eye shape looks weird there is no way to change it, that’s why designs like the cheetah and arctic fox didn’t translate that well classic imo. Also the proportions are just odd sometimes, like in the official art it looks solid but the actual model is weird for some reason lol

The worst thing about the cheetah model is the fact that cheetahs look so gorgeous in Classic, they're literally my fave big cat design aside from the snow leopard ;_; I'll never understand how they managed to translate it so poorly into PW X'D If they were going to butcher it like that, then the least they could've done is make it so that the teardrop markings can finally be recolored along with the spots instead of being stuck in black by default. That was always the one tiny flaw with AJC's cheetahs, so it sucks that they chose to repeat it.

The zebra is actually the same model is baced on last years, THE DOG CAT PROBLEM IS COMING BACK AS THE HOOF PROBLEM

Personally i find the tarantula design absolutely adorable! The way they move when in water it's also pretty cute 😖 also i think the antelope design pretty neet too,the main palette it's really good 👌 Edit: I'm now a capivara user and i can say one thing for sure, They are amazing,i already liked the design but now using one of them is more cool.🤙

The zebra is definitely in my favorites list, it's just so cute and pretty well-proportioned for being as stylized as it is. I don't think any other animals are going to top my beloved painted wolf though. They're my most favorite mammal in real life and I think it's pretty well designed in AJ.

I’m kinda in the middle with the antelope, I really like the way I styled mine and like a few other looks I’ve seen but the majority of clothing looks weird on it and sometimes it’s hard to coordinate with the horns. I think they could’ve made the body more similar to the deer and it would’ve come out better but I do really like the face shape and the big ears. My biggest thing with the antelope is how large the hooves are, I wish they more resembled the real animal and the official artwork

My favorite is the Koala, it's big cute ears and it being small and adorable, it stole my heart, its eyes look kinda weird though. I hope they bring it back in stores though :( Great video btw! Keep up with the amazing content :)

My theory is that Animal Jam had a model artist that did all of the bad designs, like the domestic dog and cat animals and stuff. Im guessing either Animal Jam fired them or he quit, because after a while (Starting with the Zebra) the designs started to look way way better. Probably totally wrong but its a fun guess 🤣

I play as the blackbuck antelope because my self insert OC has horns, and the colors I chose was blackish blue, white, and a color that look like grey but a bit blue

I wish they brought back the sheep they keep adding instead of bringing animals back

Honestly I’d like to see how a Borzoi (Which is a dog breed) would look in Animal Jam

I actually love siamese cat and use it as my main. I like how the design is more dainty, small, and elegant. But its not an animal thats mentioned often and im unsure why

I used to play animal jam many years back and seeing all the new animals they've added since I last played makes me a little jealous that they didn't add those while I was playing!

The designs went from awesome, to horrible, to good. Also, I LOVE Snow Leopard! It’s my favorite animal! You can make great outfits, it can roleplay as a lot of things too!

My personal favorite animals are the arctic hare, and the moose. I understand why people may not like them though, and no I don't play for the memes XD.

Neck items just look atrocious in artic wolves (including spike collars), because they clip in the neck so badly; and my first impression about artic hares was that they look like ripped from the jackalope model from feral.

I LOVE the tortoise, and I have no clue why nobody plays as it. Honestly I think the underrated animals like the tortoise, snow leopard, sheep, and others are super cute and they should get more attention. The designs are just pleasing and cute to me. This is my personal opinion and you don’t have to like them, but I really do and I wish I had more of them. I also didn’t know the camel existed in the game XD.

I’m someone who likes the capybara design, the fact that it’s eyes look angry makes me like it even more, it’s pretty accurate to an actual animal honestly lol

I like the capybara because It looks kind of cute with that bee item that you can put on the back, and on the bad list I was waiting for you to say the tufted deer, It's very odd looking.

If I'm being honest, I like some of the cat/dog designs, I think some of them are good even if ppl were really mad about them coming back all the time, but that's just my opinion, I also like the snow leopard. Also, I also like the triceratops, but I feel like it's really hard to fit items on it, so that's why I don't really play it unless I am going into the dino world cuz it's my only dino. I also LOVE the french bulldog, I made an awesome outfit with it haha, just tell me if you want to see it lol And I love the blackbuck antelope and I think it's really cool, but you know whatever. I don't really like the bear at all, I think the gorilla looks better than the bear by far! All of this is my opinion though so if you like the things I said I didn't like or you hate the things that I said I didn't, you do you, all of this is my opinion so don't take offence to any of it

i love the animal skunk design, it was a huge inspiration to how i designed my skunk oc 💚 also i dont think its fair to rank animals low for simply being stylized or exaggerated or not conventionally attractive, like lemurs, theyre SUPPOSED to be kind of unsettling, but in a cute way

I like the painted dogs the most,I personally love their designs, exept that the necklaces look SO WEIRD, for some reason the neck fur is so big that the necklace looks HUGE, I tried wearing my quill collar and it was twice as big as when I equipped it on my fox, it looked like it weighed 500 pounds or something,also there’s a part of it that can’t change color, so I have too keep a brown color scheme instead of a blue one

when I was a kid, I would ALWAYS go for snow leopard (in classic), but unfirtunately I find the snow leopard in PW is strangely small. like, its smaller than the golden retriever which is far from accurate and it just kinda bothers me. also I agree the cheetah is so nubby. Classics design for cheetah was long and sleek. it fits the animal so much more imo

Also I feel as if I was programmed incorrectly. I chose the French bulldog over the fox, the fox is way too basic. Gorillas are also so underrated.

Did you know that AJHQ is located in Utah, I want to work there one day, we might visit there also. I love the newer animals, I like the old ones too but it seems like they work harder on they're newer ones.

my favorite of the animals I own are: -koala (love the ears! i also like it because i almost never see other people play as koalas so it’s cool to be kinda unique) -raccoon -otter -snow leopard (i feel like almost every item looks amazing on it and i love customizing the colors) and the animals that i (sadly) dont own: -coyote -dire wolf -hyena (i know, all of these animals are the canines lmao)

If I were to pick my top five favorite animals in order it would be 1 Hyena: it's awesome, unique, and all items look good on it Deer: it's superior to all the equines and can look both natural or fantastical, plus all the items look very sleek on it, bonus points for antlers. Snow leopards: again everything looks good on it, comes with a good pattern plus loads of color combos look good on it. Also the leopards only area is a riot, just rp central over there and it's great. Racoon: this little buddies are beyond cute and NEED to be brought back. Cute motions good with items and just have that solid old AJ design. Otters: these things are adorable. Ear muffs and stuff look way better on otters and their longer necks make sense. They have a cool summer animal feel that's perfect. Definitely deserve their own land.
