I have been following you for a very long time and as an aging gal, you have provided me with the very best advise so that I may age gracefully and protect what I have. I was watching today's video while I was folding our mountains of laundry (how can two retired folks generate so much laundry?) and I was smiling as you went through the list of peptides to use and why which one works on how to layer, etc. I have all of the peptide products you recommended and for the reasons you provided, they are all in my arsenal and I use them in rotation around my various Retinals and prescription strength Tretinoin. At 61, my skin really and truly looks better than ever and I have to give you credit for it and you've saved me a fortune on aestheticians in the process! Thank you, you are terrific!
Can you share some please & the rotation? I’m new here 🙋🏼♀️& I need a routine desperately please. My son had cancer & it caused a lot of wrinkles under my eyes😢 thank you 🙏🏻
It's blue because of the copper. Copper peptide products are naturally blue-tinted, but blend into the skin when applied. I used Peter Thomas Roth's Peptide 21 serum, which is the precursor to Skinjection. It was fantastic, effective, and worth the splurge. This has been discontinued recently and I haven't used Skinjection, which has far fewer peptides and actives. I may go back to using The Ordinary copper peptide serum or Maelove, since I'm not sure the cost/benefit is there with Skinjection.
I remember copper peptides coming out waaaaaaaaaay back when I first got my esthetics license. They sold a blue one that smelled like pennies but boy did it work.
I use the Timeless MATRIXYL® SYNTHE’6 that is supposed to be good for "older skin" since I am 58. Is that as good as the Timeless Matrixyl 3000 for anti aging? Thank you for the overview!
I heard that after you cleanse your face should still be damp when applying hyaluronic acid. I wonder if the same "rule" applies to the Peptide Squad by Maelove considering it contains hyaluronic acid.
I’ve been wearing the Ordinary Peptides + Copper, it really works on my skin. Thank you for this explanation. It’s also blue in color, the copper makes it blue.
Maelove is one of my favorite companies for skin care. I got their peptide serum when it came out and it was a fantastic addition to my routine. I'm glad everyone else seems to love it, but i don't currently have it because it's been sold out for awhile. 😭
It's annoying when the content creator never responds to comments/questions. Also, I bought The Inky List on her recommendation as a "lip plumper." Needless to say, it is NOT a lip plumper. I'm beginning to wonder if she's a real dermatologist.
I love watching your videos and have learned so much. Especially how I damaged my skin from the sun all those years ago. I would like to start using a retinol and I am so confused by amounts of retinol in the products. What should I start with, and then change to when working toward Rx tretnoin? Thank you so much.
I’ve looked everywhere for the percentage concentration in the Maelove peptide squad. I can’t replace my current products with this until I know what percentage of Matrixyl, Argireline, and Copper.
Okay so you would not recommend layering the Maelove peptides and the Maelove Vitamin C, but would recommend alternating them? I think that is what I was hearing you say.
Yay! I’ve been using Oil of Olay vitamin C + peptides during the day and have noticed an improvement in the smoothness and dullness in my skin! It doesn’t look dull anymore. So that’s my experience. 😊
That was the most detailed video about peptides I have ever seen so far. Now I know what to look for and NOT to pick like the neurotransmitter peptides. I don't want anything that will play with my neurological system like botox but just to improve my elasticity and increasing my collagen production. That was spot on Dr. I really appreciated that you took the time to explain each of them. Thank you very much 😊
It has everything she mentioned in her list in it!! I’ve never had 11s, I had one long wrinkle that was like a backwards j, the curved part at the top of my nose curving over going towards my eye. The straight part was always pink, as if it was getting a real good blood flow! I’ve been using the ‘Ordinary’s ‘Buffet’ with Copper peptides for about two weeks. The straight (ish) line going up my forehead is Gone. The curve will be visible if I’ve been reading, sometimes tv, from “concentrating”, and it can go away overnite or shortly after using in the morning! C r a z y! I tried a longtime ago Matrixyl alone, but couldn’t deal bc it would stay sticky. Soooo glad to find it and Airgeline and the other good stuff in one very inexpensive product. I use mine with Vit C and no problems at all. I’ll try the alternating to see if it makes a difference.
I had a weird reaction to a product called Revision line relaxer w/ Acetyl Hexapeptide-8 in it. Used it as directed and after 6 weeks I felt the skin between my eyebrows fall and sag. Discontinued using, but took quite some time for it to rerun back to normal!
Wow such a greatly informative video about peptides!! It’s like you answered basically ALL the questions I would have asked!!! I am going to definitely check into adding peptides to my face care routine!!! Thanks Doc!! 🫶🏼
Tried the Peter Thomas Roth skinjection. It wasn't for me. I have dry skin in a dry climate, and this sat on my skin instead of sinking in. It was uncomfortable.
No. I like him but he's not especially handsome. For that, look at Henry Cavill. There are only a few men with practically no defects, but for some reason probably not even they are a "9.9".
Argireline works so well on the frown lines between my eyebrows. I us morning and night and it's very apparent how much harder it is for me to even make that expression
Different topic but since you like collagen supplements, have you tried the one from Spoiled Child? Also, Sephora has a line called Soft Services and they have a body retinol serum.
it's great that you are showing us the Maelove serum, however as I have learned a ton about skin care and how products work, this peptide will take months to see any results like other peptides. Please stop saying"you have tried or tested other products for us" it's a lame untrue statement. You are selling on here with your medical info which is fine but if you are going to actually TEST other products give time and dates for it please.
@@KasThinks I agree, however, most medical experts arent making videos about one specific topic and dont even bother to look up information that is easily accessible. Again, it is very very strange.
can you please name some product tha we can use containing those ingredients tha youre mentioning because that will be of great help to us not only to me (senior) thank you in advance
You can layer Vitamin C and Peptide serum together. Vitamin C needs to go on first, and leave on at least 5-10 minutes before layering Peptide serum over it.
Where did you get that bit of information? I recently heard that you should not combine those two because peptides negatively affect vitamin C. I can’t remember where I picked that up, but it was recently.
Never layer copper peptides with vitamin C. I’m surprised that Maelove hasn’t given guidance since there are so many reviews with people using the glow maker with the squad serum. It decreases the effectiveness, it’s throwing away money.
That doesn't sound like a good idea to me- I would apply Peptide squad and let absorb into skin completely before applying tretinoin but I'm no expert. You can email Maelove from their website with questions about their products.
My opinion im not a doc is it’s amazing using it for about 4 years. I use the timeless coq10 in the am w my vitamin c and needless at night when use my Tret
Very interesting! But I thought Vitamin C is supposed to be used in the morning under sunscreen and peptides at night??? Is the time those actives are used really important? Thanks!
Thats how i use it because i wont give up using tret at night. I also avoid copper so i can use Vit C . Theres so many other beneficial peptides to use . Copper gets in the way of Ahas n Bha , and i eont give that up either
Medik8 makes a couple of peptides I’d like to try as well. Price points aren’t bad but could you do a review on their Liquid Peptides and/or Oxy-R Peptides?
What's your opinion on Medik8 peptide serum and the Cosrx 6 peptide serum? Also the Ole Henriksen strength trainer peptide boost moisturizer? Those are the ones I've been using. The Medik8 one was very expensive and didn't last long at all. Just run out of the moisturizer as well. I hope the Cosrx serum is doing something 😌 I'd love more videos on peptides and different peptide-product reviews 🥰✨️
Do you use vitamin c for the morning routine? If so where in the layering process? I thought vitamin C and Tretinoin can’t be used together. I like argeraline and snail mucin but I’m not sure how to layer. Is is odd that hyaluronic acid drastically accelerates fine lines! I’ve used it on damp skin and everytime it does the same thing. After 3 days of not using it and only moisturizing and snail mucin I look smooth again🤷🏻♀️
Yes stop or reduce the use of hyaluronic acid. They promote it as hydrating but take a drop of any HA product and leave it on a glass dish, you'll see it dries instead of being a humectant or hygroscopic. So when it does eventually dry on your skin which takes like 2 hours approximately, it draws moisture from your skin and dries it more. Another youtuber-dermatologist Dr. Shereene Idriss who is on some board that reviews safety of prospective products, dissed HA. To save you time, she recommends glycerine instead of HA.
Do you still use and recommend Avene Retrinol? How do i incorporate “peptide squad” with the Avene products that you have recommended? Thanks! I follow often and try to use the products in the way you suggest.
I know why your serum is blue ... it's because copper peptide is blue. Every copper peptide I have used has been blue. I am going to check out the Maelove one and see if I like it. I am currently using The Ordinary Copper Peptide, but have no problem changing if I can get all 4 in the Maelove serum. Thanks for the recommendation.
I used a few bottles of Depology Matrixyl 3000 on deep lip lines (non-smoker, chemo gave me lines). There is a difference, but now I wish I'd gotten a peptide mix. Onward to even better skin care!
Thank you for another educational video. I bought Peter Thomas Roth vitamin C / ferulic acid and am pleased with dewy looking skin-thanks to your videos 😁 Will try the Maelove Squad too!
Just a quick thanks for helping me and helping my daughter's with your advice ❤. Hey what would you recommend to get rid of a hand wart super fast and how to do it. Some just fight forever and some go away fast.
