Bernth, Lets say I go with $5 patreon and get 15% annual plan and I like it so much I want to move to the higher tier do I get to apply what I spent to do it? Please advise.
I love Bernth videos, with him, I focus on technic mostly, but for music theory I recommend you to check out Signals Music Studio by Jake Lizzio, he's awesome, I've learnt so mucho about theory from him, he makes songs just to tech you, which is perfect if you're looking to improvise or compose.
I definitely agree with you. Bernth breaks complicated stuff, or concepts that seem complicated into basics so you can understand where they come from. And gives you the tools so you can explore.
You are funny and a very good teacher.. Good job young man. I'm in my 60s and having fun with my guitars.. never had the time to learn until two years ago I think you're classes are the bomb...🤘☮️ Rock ON DUDE 🇺🇸
Bernth, I just want to say thank you so much for all you’ve done for us. I liked the video to get to this later still been practicing my lagato, and picking technique from your channel. I know I’m not a young prodigy guitarist by any means, but it’s because of you that I started guitar. Everyone’s got a guitar hero. And I feel like you’re mine. So thanks for all the videos you put out for us. You seem like such a good guy and I just wish I knew you personally in real life. Keep up the good work Sensei 🙏. I enjoy all the content you put out and I hope many do as well. Have a good day man.
@@Bernthguitar thanks for replying to your fans. You’re enjoyable to listen to, been listening to some of you’re albums In The truck when taking the girls to the store and I’ll say the song,”when it rains, it poors.” It’s amazing. My daughter thought it was great to when we jammed it out on the drums as she sat behind me, listening. Can’t wait to be able to shred like that tho man. In time (: the new orange cab and 15W head are amazing to play on btw and make playing that much more enjoyable !
Your flawless technique, virtuoso talent and ability to humorously and concisely convey this to those of us still on "training wheels" makes you one of the most significant teachers I've seen. Thanks so much for sharing your obvious passion for the guitar. Bravo!
Hey Brother, I'm not really a shred guy - not by choice but by my limitations--I have an arthritic pinky on my left hand. I can use it when chording but when I need to stretch for a long note, it simply aint happening. I stepped away from guitar in my Late 20's through my 40's due to drug addiction. About 10 years ago, through the Grace of God, my addiction no longer hampered me and I started playing again. Only then did i notice my pinky bent at the first joint. Ever since then, guitar has saved the rest of my fingers. The old adage "move or lose it" really does apply to us all. Due to my limited pinky action, I have formed my own style (Django did it with 2 fingers) and my third finger can really stretch out and cover some space.I just want to thank you for being so generous. I have not been a subscriber for very long but since then, your inspiration, your kindness, and your generosity in sharing what you have learned has really helped me become a much better and more precise player. Thank you Man! I just turned "friggen" 60!! but my playing is the best ever. \||/
@@robbarrett6002 God Bless you brother! Since writing that, my playing has steadily improved. No arthritis pain in my hands and I’m trying to work that pinky in more and more. Keep on Rocking my friend-Never Stop. We are just 18 year olds trapped in an old person’s body!
One of the best teachers teaching in a simplified manner🙏. Not forgetting to mention a really humble and honest person and a teacher in my opinion. Your lessons have helped me get more in depth knowledge about the guitar world.
of all of your vids, this has helped me understand arpeggios more. i tend to get stuck in a penatonic style playing, so this helps massively an assortment of vids are helping me get some diversity in what i play.
I have been teaching music for over 30 years. As time has gone on, I’ve had to simplify more and more for my students- not because they are incapable of mastering music reading skills and theory, but because they do not see the need of putting time into these areas, given our instant, interactive free-choice manner of learning they are accustomed to. Your approach is excellent! You teach the generation in front of you- not one or two generations ago. I can’t wait to try these arpeggios myself- thanks!
Ive said this before but there is no question about it... you are seriously the BEST guitar teacher on RU-vid I wish you were in the USA I would definitely take lessons with you!
Flugzeug and incredible lesson yet again dude, I love how I am gaining a deeper understanding of music terminology by devouring your lessons. Like I see augmented or dominant 7chords and wouldn't really know what was being changed but once I practice this for a few months I know I'll know them by heart. Love your vibe and rock on Bernth
You are an excellent teacher! I’ve been playing guitar for over 25yrs and I’m good but after watching many of you tutorials ,,, I hadn’t realized before just how much I didn’t know over the past 25 years,,, and these are basic fundamentals that give so much more color to to anyone’s playing and development. And , as you demonstrate the application of these principles ,,, the results literally speak for them selves 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I'm 37. Been playing guitar for 25 years. I only play for fun. I'm so angry I didn't see the potential in RU-vid and other platforms to come. I'd probably have stuck with it and created my channel 10 years ago. I'm living vicariously through Bernth.
patterns is key, it has been so much easier this way. Way back when I first started playign and trying to learn major scales, it never occurred to me that it's the same pattern just moved around to different starting points(root notes), and then once I learned that the relative minor to a major is just a different starting point on the same exact scale, it was like a light bulb blinked a few times and then came on. I've been messing around with minor and major 7th chords and trying to figure out what sounds good(not that i'm any good, but you get the idea) and this makes it that much easier to try some arpeggios in with the licks. Glad I found this video, thanks for the tips!
So many tutes, no idea how to structure it together into a 20 min practice session (all I can spare) per day to become a better lead guitarist while learning this music theory. Like one wholesome practice a day. Will keep watching tho Bernth. Love your work! (And sick tatt on the right bicep)
The first best thing you can do if you haven't already is learn the circle of fifths. There is a simple formula that I figured out after staring at it. Starting at C, the next key is G, which is the 5th of C. it adds 1 # which is F#. So the next key is the 5th of G and will add a second # which is a 5th up from F# which is C#. That formula works all the way around clockwise and if counter clockwise, the previous key is the 5th of the next. A great book is the "Guitar Grimoire". I have the "Bass Grimoire" and it really helped me understand the relationship between modes and chords. And yes! This guy makes great videos! I'm scratching my head at the 50 or so retards that had to give it a thumbs down.
I've been on a flugzeug few times, it's unreasonably fast, yet not as fast as your guitar playing, Bernth! You're the best teacher, thank you for your work!
I appreciate your videos greatly I can't afford to be a patreon but the stuff that you put on regular RU-vid has helped me greatly improve my guitar so thank you very much for your videos and they're just so damn easy to follow you're awesome keep up the great work
I've been dabbling in this space for awhile but this has truly unlocked the fretboard for me. Adding the 7th interval has made it easier for me to see the next octave. As a bonus, I can easily see the relationship of the major and relative minor. Absolutely great video and much more than a trick. Thanks!
There are a lot of incredible youtube guitarists out there which you are as well but, you are also an incredible teacher. Keep up the good work and passing on your gift of knowledge👍
Finally the lesson to learn it all, probably won't take 2 weeks but more like 8 for me but if I stay focused can Finally embark with the Flugzeug and shred some awesome stuff :)
Absolutely loved this video you made it very simple . I was doing it exactly the way you said people do it picking a shape but this way is much easier to do and remember. Plus I always know the notes just start on the root love it 🎉
I remember when I first realized the first trick. I was just feeling out 4nps scales and the power of octaves reached out and slapped me. Total game changer.
Bernth I am really enjoying your videos you are such an amazing teacher with incredible technique. This is definitely a fun arpeggio and much easier. Not up to your caliber yet but hopefully one day and you teach a German one word at a time! Fantastic!!
Parabéns marujo, consegui ver até ao fim. Se queres aliciar o teu seguidor | aluno, tens de ser claro nas ideias e não deformar tudo. Es um excelente guitarrista e nem eu nem ninguém te tira esse mérito. Obrigado!!!
Truly it is luck I have been playing guitar in a acoustic for 5 yrs and I am so good that my leads are insane that even my teacher got shocked of my improvement thanks bernth
Hi, I'm from Malawi🇲🇼 I've been following your videos. Sadly I'm one of those who can't afford the patreon subscriptions and cling to the RU-vid only. However I really love your lessons and I'm being helped right here on RU-vid. No doubt, the moment I can afford I will gladly join this wonderful team on Patreon. Keep up the great work!!!!
I recently discovered your channel and am very impressed by the quality of your content and knowledge of technique and theory. Im not a shredder but have always wanted to develop more speed and knowledge of arpeggios. Your English is perfect btw! To speak fluent German and English is truly impressive as well.
Great teacher, thanks 👍. I love this video, it contains all the rudimentary components for composing solos over ANY chord progression. I'm not a shredder (I don't have the dexterity in my short fingers and am too old to worry about it), so I tend to slow things down a bit (nothing over 220 bpm 😄), add other intervals, bend a lot more and throw in the odd blues note 😁. Can also sounds killer, especially when combined with judicious use of the RIGHT arpeggio or sweep pattern at the right time. Although it can look and sound mind-blowing in the hands of a player like Bernth, life's not all about maximising BPMs, 1-3-5-7 arpeggios, 3 notes per string and 32nd-note triplets 😉. Complexity is only interesting to those who seek to understand it and emulate it. There are other people who basically find it mildly interesting, can appreciate the mastery of the theory behind it and the execution, but to them (me included), it becomes ultimately boring, which is why YJM only ever had niche appeal. Peace, whichever your genre of choice, make sure to strive to be your best 🤘🤘 Schmetterling 🦋
That was excellent my brother you broke it down very simple it's just a matter of knowing the notes on your neck and obviously the notes in each chord so thank you very much for that brilliant instruction I'm going to go grab my guitar right now and try a few
Not only are you obviously a gifted guitar player but I seriously admire your dedication to deeply understanding the underlying theory and honing your skills on top of that. I have played for 40 years and only in the last couple have I spent tons of time on the theory. What a mistake on my part with 30 some odd years wasted!
this is really a good and well executed lesson. plus the track on the end part makes it even more inspiring to guitar learners (not sure if it’s really a term) like me. really a phenomenal job!
The best teacher in youtube.. easy to understand and most important is that he's sharing his knowledge and secret without any charge.. most of the teacher is stingy with their knowledge.. 😆
Im entirely self taught and this is actually how i put my arpeggios together. It just made sense. I can't read guitar music ( tabs naturally) so i never bothered with it. Piano, saxophone i had down though
"Just play octaves to jam" Berth shredding af with just 4 notes octaves lesson, great teacher and explaining so simple big stuff 🤘 I'll practice this more often, Not to follow just shapes *guilty*
This seems a fun way to learn. The flugzeug technique would be a great way to learn these arpeggios on a daily basis, especially since I'm workbook challenged lol.
