I like multiple functions if not too busy or excessively complicated. The timing bezel and GMT function make this more functional while still beautiful. It looks like a winner to me.

Longines are becoming a powerhouse. My last two watches were Longines. The 40mm Spirit and the blue dial, titanium " Big Eye". Value for money watches that could not be more dissimilar. It's their value for money that, ironically, causes watch snobs to dismiss them. Add $5000 to the price and stick IWC on the dial and they would love them.

My last 2 were Longines as well, Spirit Zulu Time GMT and Avigation Bigeye (you have great taste). I have have Breitlings, Omegas, and Panerai and I wear these 2 watches every day. Longines is a powerhouse! This new Hydroconquest GMT is beautiful. Just looked at it at the dealer. I want to get a dress watch and it will likely be either a GS or Longines Flagship 40?

Teddy missed one of the most important pluses of this watch: it offers a timing bezel, which is one of the most useful features of any watch, combined with the true GMT. I am only aware of a very small handful of other watches on the market that do that.

Longines is a great brand with a lot of history behind them, they have as well overall beautiful watches with quality finishing and affordable prices but still in my opinion, I prefer Tudor watches . Thanks for another excellent video.

Bezel is meh on my Hydroconquest GMT. Rotating the bezel sounds clicky and there is slight back play. I still love the watch. Watchmaxx has them for $2160 with no sales tax.

Thank you for another great video. It's a very helpful overview of a pretty exciting new release. I only have one minor off-topic thought to share. I do realize this could qualify as pedantic, but I can't help pointing it out once before letting it go: "side profile" is redundant phrasing. It seems to imply that there could also be a "back profile", a "front profile", etc. "Profile" already means "appearance from the side". So, calling something a "side profile" is tantamount to saying "side appearance from the side". 🙂

Reallllly enjoy the appearance. Never thought I’d be so attracted to a brown/gold offering but that’s my favorite one. Wish they would’ve made a 43 or 44mm to eat up some of that GMT thickness; us larger fellas wouldn’t mind one bit! I really think I’m about to buy my first Longines watch, handled some a few weeks ago alongside some Oris watches and the difference in quality feel was significant.

*Current model Aquaracer 300. The micro-adjust on the Aquaracer is much simpler than the one on the Longines. Gets the job done but the Aquaracer GMT only has around 55 hours of power for a similar price point. This Longines is the way to go.

So Rolex uses 8 round markers and 2 rectangle markers, Longines reversed this order with 2 round markers and 8 rectangle markers. BRILLIANT!

Can’t say I love it. I have a blue ceramic HydroConquest steel that I love. Just feel like they missed the mark with this one, too much going on. In a GMT I’m looking for a bi directional bezel with the even hour markers, like Tudor, Rolex or Tag Heuer. Spirit Zulu is my choice of their GMT models, and high on my list of next watch.

Great review. This is on my shortlist to take my collection to the next level (current high end diver is a SPB143). IMHO much better value for money than other watches in the same bracket, and a much better value proposition than the other watch on my wishlist, a Pelagos 39.

Presume they will do a smaller version like the Zulu too which will be super attractive. In titanium would be ultimate vacation watch. Having the date at 6 would have helped symmetry too. Pelegos 39 GMT would be only thing stopping me if they can match the Longines thickness.

I love your videos, Teddy! Quick question for Teddy or anyone else who might be able to shed light: In most descriptions of the watch the case is described as 12.9mm thick. Here it is described as 13.2mm thick. I am assuming that the difference is that one measurement includes the height of the crystal and the other does not. If something else is going on, please let me know.

Probably too big for me then. My wrist is about 17.1cm. I tried on an older Conquest model once and didn't care for the large crown guards on that model either from a wearability perspective.

That blue model is blutiful 😎. A bit pricey though. I would like to see this model just in the Hydroconquest. I have the Mido Ocean Star GMT and the only thing it's missing that the Longines has is that on the fly microadjust clasp. Yes it has that diver's extension but I don't look at it the same way as a true otf microadjust. Given both brands are under the swatch group, I wonder how different the movements are for such a price hike? Great video, as always Teddy.

Currently choosing from the green dial and the brown dial. The brown one looks really good with the golden hands, but the gmt hand is a little boring compare to the dark gmt hand on the green dial.

I trust my longines (3) more than I trust my rolexes (2). Plus they require less maintenance. Omega is also an excellent brand requiring little maintenance.

Finally the perfect watch for a land-locked recreational diver who does it so infrequently his wife doesn't trust him and wants a call when he gets back to the surface. "Hey look its past her bedtime. Lets go get some drinks." Longines is nailing it. I'm glad they changed the crown guards but I'm not sure about those circles on this watch. Looks a bit haphazard. And it should have screws in the bracelet. Anyways, solid release. I still prefer the Zulu but this is nice.

I'd buy a Christopher Ward C63 GMT in dragonfly blue and pocket the extra £1000. Better case finishing, slimmer case, smaller lug to lug, similar adjustable bracelet (choose the bader bracelet) and better lume. It looks as much like an Explorer 2 as this looks like a Submariner.

The circles and rectangles are reversed compared to a rolex sub so it doesn't look "right", but i think longines had a historical model with this layout. maybe future editions will change this, if so i'd be interested.

Maybe it's just me, but it looks like colours of "8" in the "18" in the green variant are not well connected, like the background colour seeped in between the two parts. The "8" now looks very streched out. Could be just the colour scheme - in the other variants it looks better.
