they cut the front guards like that so they were easy to dig mud out of when in bog hole also carry less mud on travel they military still ran 750/16 tyres back then on the 2,s and the 2a,s in Australia... bit of history Aussie jas..... landy nut

the 1/12 scale realistic RTR RC too expensive to make, if you buy a FMS 1/12 hummer than compare with Tamiya 1/10 hummer---------------------- the lexan body for competition. Do you have FCX10? it may the best 1/10 for competition.
Needs Land Rover wheels and tires, not WWII Willys MB combat rims and NDT tires. I know the Series I design was heavily borrowed from Willys MB/Ford GPW, but not the Series II.
i can DIY one series 1 by myself use FMS 1/12 series 2. or make a few VM version.i like First overland 2 series 1, but not easy and need weathering too.I believe need not less than 15 day work to built one.
