This is my favorite kind of tamale!! I have never learned how to make them. I had a neighbor in AZ, their family would get together in the fall and make hundreds and freeze them. They grew their own corn, and spent days harvesting and then shucking. They took the corn somewhere to have it stripped from the cobs and then would spend a couple of days making for family. She was my supplier. 😂 I am not a big meat eater but I love chilies and cheese. I have to try this!! Thank you! Wish I could give more than one thumbs up.

I am Italian and grew up like the both of you cooking and picking the fresh vegetables from the garden and then helping my grandma and great grandmas cook every meal. I just had spine surgery 2 months ago and I am paralyzed from the waist down and with the virus my family is unable to come visit me... watching your channel and listening to you ladies talk and joke around puts a smile on my face. .

I watched this video last year and just watched it again. This is the tamale that my neighbor made and that I loved. I knew they grew the corn and took it somewhere that actually cleaned the corn from the cob for them. It was a huge family undertaking and they would spend 2-3 days making them so everyone took home a lot. I was always the recipient of a few dozen. This became my favorite because I am not a big meat eater, and they were always so moist and delicious. I still learn so much every time I go back and watch some of your videos. Thank you again.

autumn roberts the way my family does it, is once the tamale is cooked, you take it out of the husk and put it in a pan with hot oil. Same way you would fry an egg. You don’t need too much oil because you’re not submerging it. You’re just frying the outsides. It’s so delicious!!

I love your recipes. I like to learn from the best and true authentic cooking. So I will ask my Hispanic friends to come to my home and teach me the recipes from their country when I can. Then I may change it to my taste but I want to know the correct way that their grandma taught their mother... Thank you.. love how genuine u are. I love the interactions between you and your sister. It brings back memories of my childhood when the adults would cook together. All my siblings are in other states. Keep your sister close, and in these videos, it adds to the warmth of your channel...and give your sister bigger bites of the food, her samples are so small.

SO BACK IN THE 80S, in Houston, Texas, I went to Anna Ramirez house to visit her Grandpa. Anna's Tia was in the kitchen. Anna and I worked at a Hospital where worked the night shift. Lord Bless nurses and we are not those brave RNS, LVNS etc. They have to literally deal with Doctors. Anyway, Her Tia (Totally forgot her name) asked us to help her make Tamales. Anna went and passed out on her couch and i was not gonna be the rude one of her friends and do that. It TOOK ALL FREAKIN DAY However those were the Best Tamales that I have ever eaten. God Bless Anna Ramirez Tia in Houston. GIRL. I will say, they look delicious but Mine would take all day just because it has been over A LOT OF YEARS since I did that. Now that I am 60 years old and as a gift to myself I am not doing the math. Thank you for this. It brought back memories. I bet yours are just as delicious. Everything you make seems to be.

I have never made the masa from fresh corn, I love this! I cannot wait to make it! I love that you guys talk, this is about loving and feeding our families after all and the best cooking is done with love and the more to share in the love the more love comes through in the cooking also!!!
