Thanx Nathan. It doesn't get more basic than that. Work great but this year I'm trying a different hook to save a few Senkos. Owner has a screw lock that G. Yamamoto designed for Senkos looks interesting.

Always have that setup tied up here in Ohio. I've gotten away from the EWG hook though. I moved to either the hybrid or straight worm hook to help with better hookups. I need to try that Clout worm.

Can you say Charlie Brewer Worm on a 1/4, 1/8 or a 1/16 oz bullet heads or the flat glider heads! Those worms will catch any fish! Charlie called it a do nothing worm! The profile of his 4" worms looks like a minnow! 4" bait is the preferred prey size! I fished it in the Potomac River, the C&O Canal in Maryland. Charlie was a big Small Mouth fisherman! But a large mouth will spank it too! I fished it with a 5' 6" Southbend ultralight rod and a Garcia 3800 spinning reel with 6 lb sometimes 4 lb stren! Wasn't braided or fluorocarbon lines back in the 80's, but Charlie said if you throw the worm into stickups or a brush pile? And see the line jump or feel a tap? Don't set the hook! He said to reel up and just put tension on the line and slowly guide the fish out and then set the hook! And that old man was right! The fish will hold onto a Brewer Worm like no other! Have broken off and lost fish! But never if I was able to coax them out in the open! and those thin wire Brewer hooks are like needles they penetrate! It's the best worm on the market if it still is......? Overfished under fished waters it will out produce any lure besides live bait! The trick is to go as light as possible and watch your line! They will hang on to that worm! With the glider heads, all you need to do is cast into an area you think is holding fish? Cast beyond that area and glide that bait in the water with tension on the line by holding up the tip of your rod and it will glide through water like a minnow! No pumping or yo-yoing! As Charlie said in his book! Take a minnow out of its 3 worm package, and hold between your thumb and forefinger! Now look down at the worm and notice a slight twitch! That's from the blood being pumped from your heart through your body! That's all the action this worm needs! And he's right! That old man knew how to make a visual point! I'll STFU! Like this video alot, Im in Connecticut and dont see many videos about fishing in the north east region. I love that 6th Sense Clout and I too throw it Texas rigged behind a 1/8oz sinker. I seem to catch more fish per worm than with an original Senko.

Sounds very similar to a free rig. You might want to try a free rig weight instead of a bullet weight. They are made to let the line pass through with less interference.

I agree , live in ri and fish ct and mass . Rubber worms have always bagged my biggest bass . Besides night fishing whopper plopper and heddon crazy crawler .

Yea, that is 100% a "Oh, you are new to bass fishing, throw this around" type of technique.

Is the orientation of the weight important? What are the advantages or disadvantages of rigging it one way or the other? May not matter for this technique and maybe more when punching

This is a sales pitch- talking about a technique with a certain bait- then displaying multiple other colored baits by his sponsored company. It’s everyone’s job especially this time of year when is (viewers) are about to start fishing more again. Nate’s job today was to make a video on the 6th sense clout(or whatever worm he’s talking about that’s NOT a senco i promise) marketing 101. That’s what RU-vid is about- marketing- even someone as innocent as Nathan still has a job to do and that’s sell his sponsors… so he makes this video which, if it reaches you ANYTHING , GREAT, not teaching me anything besides making it more clear what the message is more n more in videos it’s not about “catch fish” it’s “catch fish on this brand and this brand” 🤦‍♂️… I like Nathan too.. I give more harsher comments to say the biggest hypocrite of the sport, MatT Stefan..he truly shows that this “sport” is a marketing gimmick. Use what catches you fish and stick with it , try new ways to fish it, throw a chatterbait more, throw a waxy rig more, throw a jerkbait and spinnerbait more, throw a top water in may and again end of July through October- you’ll catch fish and be happy. No confidence in chatterbsits? Only throw spinning gear? Get a miniMAX and start catching them on the BEST chatterbait - on a spinning rod. Hey have a good days guys.
