I have been to this beach so many times before. It's nice because Fort Taylor will give you the opportunity to look at the Fort and spend the rest of the day at the beach.

We got engaged on that beach almost 5 hrs ago. You can see the Naval weather station on the south side from the sand...actual southernmost spot you can’t reach. Didn’t get a chance to see the fort so thanks for showing it. Dry Tortugas would be amazing to visit! Maybe someday! I miss Key West...making me jealous just watching this!

Fort Zachary Taylor was a great choice to visit. It reminds me of Fort Knox (Maine) all the history and walking in the footsteps of soldiers from the past is something else. Tfs and stay safe .

Forts...love these places, i have been to the fort in St Augustine, and Desoto, when i lived in St Pete, and i think that dark hall way was the latrine area.
I would like to go there as well. I really have a hard time rationalizing the app. 170 dollar price tag though. Sounds a lot like profiteering. Of course if you are a resident of Monroe County, you get a discount.
Great vlog, Key West is my favorite vacation spot but I’ve never seen that Fort or that beach. Thanks for showing it. BTW, the scooters are so much fun.👍
So, for those of you who are aficionados, the spiral staircase was actually installed backwards! Leave it to the US government for that one! They are supposed to be designed so that the defender can come down the stairs and use their right hand to easily swing their sword or a stabbing device. These were designed so that the advantage goes to the attacker!
It's neat looking but I like Higgs Beach better. It's powdery, white sand. The erosion is so bad & I don't understand why they don't replenish it. I laid on the beach towel & it's so hard & uncomfortable. Plus, they want $6 for a damn hot dog! I recommend that you use the grills next time you come!! Watch out for the Man O Wars, ouch!
You didn’t notice but look back at your footage...when you went down the narrow hallway you passed right by the boarded up toilets! More like an outhouse!
