I’ve visited Hawai'i seven times and stayed at the Queen Kapi’olani Hotel five times. Just as Erica mentioned, the location is great. Far enough away from the busy main strip to be quiet but only a block from the beach and Waikiki action. The renovations give the hotel an airy relaxed feel. One other tip, the hotel is across from the zoo. If you are renting a car, you can park overnight at the zoo for $1.50 per hour. That’s a bargain compared with the $45 per day for onsite parking that hotels charge. Thank you Erica and Jordan for your hotel review and your Hawai'i vacation guide vlogs!!!
Thanks for the great tip on parking! The valet did mention the parking option but luckily QK were doing a special where parking and valet were included in the nightly rate. You explained the feel of the place better than we did!
do you know the maximum number of hours you can have your car parked at the zoo? the website says only 4 but i need more than 4 hours of sleep a night 😪
you all prolly dont care but does any of you know a way to log back into an Instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the password. I would love any help you can offer me
@Easton Tyson thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Queen Kapiolani is one of the locals favorite and absolutely the best views of Diamond Head. All of these are good value and location. Hawaii is expensive, so these do help save you money.
Love Outrigger Waikiki...TIP: book city view room...because of the angle of the balcony..you are looking at the beach and the water! ...and it’s there least expensive room! THX for the review of the other hotels ...just might try one.🤙😎🌈

This channel is the reason our first trip outside the continental US is gonna be Hawaii. The information alone is gonna help us get the most out of our trip i feel
I love Queen Kapi'olani Hotel, too. The staff is amazing and embodied the Aloha spirit. We could be on the beach in 2 minutes, the zoo and the park in about 30 seconds and there were good food options nearby. We ate at the Deck multiple times and were very happy with the food and drinks.
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide Yes, it was a lovely trip with a dear friend that has since passed away, very unexpectedly. We both love to travel and it ended being the very last trip she ever took. Our visit was in September 2019 and the staff went out of their way to assist us in any way they could. I can't wait to go back and visit again. I want to swim in the sea so badly. Aloha and Mahalo!
Love your channel and great video!!! Hawaii is my happy place. We stayed at Marriott Waikiki when our AirBnb was full of cockroaches. But planning on the Outrigger Waikiki next time.
LOVED the Queen Kapiolani, I got waived resort fees and a studio room. But the studio was way to small (think closet) , and so I upgraded to a “normal” room as seen in the vid. If all you’re going to do is sleep, and are not sensitive to decor or claustrophobic, save money and choose a studio.
I have the hyatt place booked for June, and I paid for it with points earned from every day purchases from my chase credit card. 12000 points per night for a Waikiki hotel is great
Wow. I stayed at the queen Kapiolani back in 2017 and it was extremely dated. Still enjoyed the stay but the renovations are really nice. Might go back soon
Thank You for sharing. I am staying at the waikiki shore resort for a wedding. I tried looking at other places but couldn't get everything I wanted such as a microwave coffee pot refrigerator I like it to be like home plus I hate sitting on the bed to watch tv. I need a sofa and a separate eating area. Please do one on resorts maybe next year I will take my family
We obtained a free timeshare at Waikiki Banyan-remodeled unit. This is really making me feel better about being slightly off the beach-can't beat a week over July 4th (this year) for $772 in one bedroom fully stocked condo!
So do you just get to travel and run this guide for your income? That's a great gig. Need a photographer? LOL We did 1 night in Oahu and kept it inexpensive. We stayed at the Ilima Hotel which was well rated. Could use an update but it was clean, the staff was friendly and, most importantly, they had free on-site parking! That chopped $25-30 off our stay.
If you are looking for Hawaiian music it is getting hard to find in Waikiki. Kanikapila Grill from 5-9pm has wonderful groups of well known Hawaiian musicians every night. Food not so great, but grab a beer and have a listen. It's in the Outrigger Reef, which also features the Polynesian Voyaging Society memorabilia. Also, Duke's has Hawaiian music and we especially enjoy Maunalua on Fridays 4-6pm. Food's ok. We miss Honolulu a lot. There is so much to see and do. Got kids? Don't miss the aquarium and the zoo just down at Kapiolani Park. I also recommend for grownups the Iolani Palace, the only real palace in the US as Hawaii was a sovereign nation with a king and then a queen until the illegal takeover in 1893.
Thanks for your reviews of Waikiki. Been there once in 1999 at the Sheraton next to dukes restaurant which we loved. Liked the review of some a few blocks off the beach as options. Really want to be ON the beach. Concern is getting a hotel that says it’s on the beach but have to cross the street to get to the beach. That’s not really on the beach. Any thoughts on how to search? Thanks again

We spent two months there last year ,we rented a Airbnb ,but we are always looking for nice cheaper places to stay there .I will have to keep these three in mind for next trip
I never considered staying at a hotel off the beach. Somehow I thought that they would keep me from the full Hawaii experience. I probaly have been wrong. Thanks!
I stayed at Queen Kap in 1999 and it used to have such an old Hawaiian feel. Eating in the restaurant was like going back in time. Now it looks like a Hyatt Place or Hilton Garden Inn. What a bummer. And there used to be a Dennys right up the street that looked right out on Waikiki. Now I think it is a starbucks and overpriced trendy burger joint. I miss Hawaii of the 1990s
Thanks for making these videos! Hawaii is one of my future trips.... stuck between visiting Kauai, Maui, and Oahu. I have seen some packages for two islands jam packed in a week.... please help me decide! It's for me and my best friend looking to relax away from the city
If you are looking to relax then I recommend Maui. Kauai and Maui are both busy but Maui is larger and less traffic. Two islands in a week is a lot of traveling. Check out our website for guides and a quiz on what island to visit if you are interested: thehawaiivacationguide.com/hawaii-travel-guide/
Some of the 5-star resorts like Ko Olina Four Seasons don't have them but all others do. Look for deals in 2021 as some are waiving the fees to get people to stay.
We are going on a cruise but wanted to get to Hawaii early and go to Pearl Harbor first. Do you have a hotel recommendation. The 3 things we don’t want far away from the hotel are the airport, PearHarbor and the port. Can you help?
Last year of jan 2110 I went to hawaii And Id stay at the prince kahio hotel is was very n ice people that is very nice also I would. like to try to tell people to stay there just to try they may like ot dont like it.Thanks for other imformations about staying in hawaii.sgin christine mahalo and I love you guys.
Just saw this channel. Only been to Hawaii once and loved it. Now that the borders are shut from Australia, definitely got a few places to look at for our next holiday there. Thanks guys
I just discovered your videos and love them. I am planning a vacation for my wife and myself likely next year once covid is a bad memory. The 3 hotels you featured are definitely intriguing, the 2 hotels I was thinking about in Waikiki are the Ilikai hotel and Park Shore. How would these hotels compare to the ones featured in your Video. Thanks
We haven’t stayed there but walked the lobby and coffee shop. It’s a popular place, good location off-beach, and great coffee shop in the lobby. Can’t say how rooms are but outriggers stay fresh.
hi there!! we are going to honolulu in april but we wanted to book two hotels during our week stay there how does the 72 hrs covid test works?coz i know every hotels ask for the negative result test. i need help pls:)
You will need to show your QR code from the Hawaii Safe Travels system. You get the QR code when you submit a negative COVID test before you depart. Watch our video here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-j-M0FpWTlag.html on it and see our Oahu itinerary for a step-by-step video on doing the testing.
good videos. might i suggest some pronounciation tips, for Honolulu its said like Hoe-No -lu-lu and the biki bikes are bee-Key. dont forget to promote save travel tips like the mask mandate. but awesome job ! mahalo nui loa
Mahalo Jazz! We’ve started taking Hawaiian language lessons to work on our pronunciation. And yes, well include information on the mask mandate more often. We try to include it in a lot of videos but repetition is best for something so important.
We have articles on Maui in the winter that you should read. The data in them is very similar for the other islands.
