In today's episode, I update you guys on what's been going on with the van while also testing what is, in my opinion, the best hitch-mounted bike rack ever made. The RIGd Supply Ramblerack is the beefiest, most robust and most stable bike rack I've ever used. I've owned multiple Thule T2 Pros and 1up Racks; none can compare. Designed and built right here in the USA for offroad use, I firmly stand behind this rack and have one on my van and my wife's Subaru. What are your thoughts!?
For more information on the bike rack, check out: www.rigdsupply.com/collection...

This is legit the burliest most well thought out and built rack I've ever seen. Seeing them in the Specialized booth at Sea Otter I was super impressed. The guys from RIG'd are super cool as well.

Thanks for the great review! I pretty sure I'm going to pick up their RambleSwing for my Jeep Wrangler... but I'm also looking for a strong rack too for the 2 ebikes that I just purchased, they weigh around 67 to 70 LBS. based on your review, it looks like the stablizer bar clamp should be 90 degree to the front wheel and these ebikes have fenders which will probably offset the angle to 80 to 75 degrees. Do you think that'll work or should I go with the 1UP or Quikr racks? Thoughts? Thanks!

Rad! Not sure if you saw the clip of my 1UP in this video but I’d never recommend that rack to anyone. My bikes slapped together and hit my truck no matter how hard I tightened the arms. Reach out to rigd about the fenders they’ll get ya dialed

My one up seems at least as stable as this. My GF got a Quickr which is also nice. Too bad you didn’t demonstrate the pivot. My biggest gripe is access to the hatchback. Lots of cantilevered weight to lower and lift with two bikes mounted.

Great video, I've ordered the long stinger Ramblerack with add on and a Rambleswing for my van. I am going from a 1-up and was looking for something more sturdy; Rig'd was recommened by some other van owners. You mentioned something about a maybe a "locking pin"? Does this come with the ramblerack or is this an additional accessory? While I wait on my delivery I found your video while searching for something to lock my bike to the rack while I go for breakfast say. Edit: saw the locking method here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XKIIp8XrDIs.html

Damn I wish I had seen this video when I was buying my rack. Although I have no idea what is up with your 1up. Mine does not move at all, I would even say it is on par with your RiGd one. I think they might have updated the design as mine does not match yours.
@brakeforsnakes
@brakeforsnakes Год назад
Unless they've made some sort of huge design change I don't see how your bikes don't hit each other. The design itself allows the front tire to wiggle side to side because there's no wheel chock on the backside of the tire no matter how hard you crank those arms.

Looks like a beefier industrial version of my Thule T1. How heavy is this?
@brakeforsnakes
@brakeforsnakes 9 месяцев назад
It’s definitely beefier and way better built that you’re Thule. I’ve never weighed it but they’re not light I’d check RIGDs website
@van_mod1
@van_mod1 4 месяца назад
From RIG’d (I asked them): 46 pounds for the single. Not sure about this new pivot version which probably adds a couple pounds.

A simple strap around the front wheel and the tray on the 1up eliminates a ton of movement. Sort of like the straps on this bike rack does. But ymmv
@brakeforsnakes
@brakeforsnakes Год назад
it probably helps but after scratching a couple very expensive bikes because they move so much I got rid of that rack a long time ago in favor of a thule T2 and now this.

They (1-UP) have an updated version they showed at sea-otter. Either way, selling my 1up since I now shuttle 5+ bikes often and getting the Bike E-Rack powered vertical rack. At least we have good choices between this, 1UP, Quikr, Alta, Velocirax and Bike E-Rack now....

That’s true of any bike rack without a cable lock whether from a Thule or whatever
@van_mod1
@van_mod1 4 месяца назад
There is a welded bracket not shown in the vid that you can pass a cable lock through. The rack itself accommodates locking hitch pins.
