@@AesirMike Since BITO is in futures, and not technically a fund of Bitcoin like the others.....then I did not include it. I hope that makes sense. I tried to keep it apples to apples for a comparison.
One more question: Are all these ETFs taxed as trusts? (Some ETFs like GLD or DBC are taxed in a more complicated way than SPY. For example, PDBC is billed as a version of DBC but with "no K1 partnership forms"). Do any of these Bitcoin ETFs avoid that "Trust taxation" headache? Would be helpful to know that - because I try to avoid Trusts outside of an IRA. Thanks!
Well best would be to own both BTC itself and ETF, but the problem will come later when mining becomes so extremely expensive and transaction fees will be skyrocketing. Today to send 0.05BTC will cost you apprx. $50-$300 plus !!!!! So in 5-10 years you will be paying to move any amount of BTC Thousands of $ per transaction !! Let's say you hoarding BTC and want to sell in 10 years, good luck with that selling fee !!!! So at this point is better to have BTC ETF, you can sell anytime with no ridiculous miner's fees ! Both are risky assets anyways....
This is a very real question (I know next to nothing about investing, stock & bonds, etc...) But why would I pay someone else to let me share a piece of BTC with a bunch of other people, compared to just buying my own BTC outright with coinbase?
What's your take on BITO which is a bit of a hybrid for Bitcoin? Its returns pretty much match IBIT since IBIT was started and it touts a nice dividend yield around 15%. The expense ratio is quite high at 0.95%, but with the ETFs goal to match the return of Bitcoin and with the extremely high yield, seems like a pretty good option in relation to Bitcoin ETFs. What do you think?

I think that's a personal choice on the other funds/trusts. The expense ratios are wildly high on those. I think it may be worth waiting until it goes public, similar to the Bitcoin version.
As part of my retirement plans and also owing to the very shaky housing market now, I just sold a property in Philly and I'm thinking to put the cash in stocks, I know everyone is saying its ripe enough, but Is this a good time to buy stocks? How long until a full recovery? How are other people in the same market raking in over $200k gains in months, I'm really just confused at this point.
Yes, a good number of folks are raking in huge 6 figure gains in this downtrend, but such strategies are mostly successfully executed by folks with in depth market knowledge, And it also all depends on how long you're willing to hold for, stocks might likely tank further, but making serious gains in this downtrend wouldn't be a problem if you're a pro.
I currently hold my Bitcoin with coinbase and also with Robin Hood. I trust them as best I can. But to be honest I don't trust any one group to hold any of my investments. And that's why I'm using two entities

When etf buyers realize the potential of bitcoin, they will likely, very quickly, sell etf and buy bitcoin directly in no time. Nevertheless, i agree shitake is awesome

Two main drawbacks of an etf. Trusting someone else to manage and hold the Bitcoin. The second is the fees. There should never be fees on single commodity ETFs (my opinion).

Brian. New subscriber here. I just did my taxes and they asked if I owned any bitcoin. (When are they going to start asking if I own any gold?) Technically I don’t own Bitcoin directly, but I would own it indirectly if I buy a Bitcoin ETF, but that’s my understanding, not necessarily the IRS’s opinion. Question: if I buy (and OWN)a Bit coin ETF, can I still legally and honestly say “no” to that snoopy IRS question or do I have to answer “yes?” Same question if I SELL a Bitcoin ETF?
That is a great question. I rely on an accountant for tax guidance. I don't have the knowledge or experience to give you a good answer. I believe we will still need to report buying and selling of Bitcoin etf. But I would expect tax professionals and the software to help guide us next year, since the Bitcoin ETF is relatively new.
@@BusinessWithBrian As a CPA, I pray to god that the IRS and every govt around the world eliminates capital gains taxes on commodities in the future. The govt is the one who is printing so much money making it go up in the first place.. Also, the govt wants their cut of your appreciated assets even if they appreciated it. Easiest line in tax code is what is taxable income "all income derived from all sources is taxable unless otherwise excluded". Pray that appreciated bitcoin and bitcoin ETFs get excluded along with gold and land etc.
Thanks for sharing your research on these ETF's. I still have a hard time thinking of BitCoin as an asset when, other than owning it and hoping it goes up, the banking system does not recognize BitCoin. Furthermore, BC is largely unregulated so corporations cannot put it on their balance sheets. Lastly, what can you buy with BitCoin?
I welcome your comment. But as I stated at the beginning of the video, my point is not to discuss the viability of bitcoin. My point is to provide the most facts I can about the available ETFs to invest in it.
You looked like a hero when you recommended SMH, QQQ, VOO, etc. earlier this year. Unfortunately, it looks like the fully loaded train is now running off the tracks at a time when the small investor is fully invested. SMH is DOWN 10% this week. I see a lot of tears ahead for bag holders. Very few if any own any commodities which is outperforming equities this year.
I appreciate your candor. The term Ponzi has legal meaning, and this does not fall within that definition. It is an investment, and it requires a person to have an LLC to run their own business on amazon. And all Investments carry risk. I am personally kicking the tires with it to see how it goes. So far, it has been a bit slow to get started. And I just started making sales on Amazon today. But time will tell. I do plan to provide updates in my newsletter so people know if it's is going well or not.
