The Best Brake Pads for Racing? EBC SR21 Review

In this video, I take you through my experience with the EBC SR21 brake pads on the track during my recent race with Gridlife at Road America. After struggling with other brake compounds like the Hawk DTC-30s, Hawk DTC-50s, and Wilwood BP40s, I was excited to see what the SR21 pads could do. EBC Brakes sent me these pads to try out, and I was eager to test their performance, wear, and overall feel on the track.
I'll cover the initial measurements, and the results after 80 minutes of green track time. I'll also compare these pads to others I've used in the past and share my thoughts on why the SR21 might just be the best brake pad for endrurance racing, sprint racing, and maybe a quick swap in for track days. If you're considering a new brake setup or just curious about how these pads perform, this video is for you!
Big thanks to EBC Brakes for providing the SR21 pads. If you've tried these pads yourself, drop a comment below with your experience. Let’s help the racing community make better choices for their cars!

I was an early tester for the SR21 and now they are my go to pad for everything track oriented. I LOVE them and I'm super stoked to see others trying them and having the same experience now! Great video!!

Yes, please, more feedback on the pads. I bought out all of the st43 stock that a couple of companies had. I only have a couple sets left So I need a new pad if the st43 aren't going to be restocked.

41hrs is actually accurate. I ran same pad in my Nissan Maxima in lemons, 3 race events on a set at 16hrs each event is not a big deal

Very great job man! For your next driving videos, it could be possible to fix a camera on the pedalbox to film your footwork and to include these shots in full screen please? :)

Hey Roy, great video as always. Interesting about bed in process. I usually put a new set of st43 on after all practice , but before the endurance race/s, then have plenty left after the weekend. We dont bed these pads either. I tell the first driver to take it easy the first couple laps. I looked up the Ebc part for my willwood front calipers and I'm eager to try them soon. The price is a little more than the St43 but if they last as long, they will still be a great value

I think the SR21 is going to be my new front pad. It was the ST43, but given the stock issues and the modulation on the SR21 is so good.

Man I wish they had these in my brake pad shape - I use their RP-X and love them but they don't last a long time for me (a weekend or two). EBC...if are you reading this, make these for the 2018 Subaru STI w/Brembo shape (I have a BBK that uses that shape...on a VW).

Reading this! :) does DP81853.15SRXX not work? I'll overlay the geometries next week to see if it'll fit! Rear sti pad is releasing soon too!

@prestonlapping2977 these are DP81591RPX for my BBK. My VW uses DP52202NDX (Blue NDX) for rears which are the most rear compound you make for them. Would be cool to try the sintered compound.

I might give these a try, but our current go to pad is the ST43/45 from raybestos. I've worn through DTC-70s in like 5-6 hours for frame of reference.

With the ST43 supply issues, I think the SR21 is a good option. I also prefer the modulation on the SR21. Its a rock solid pad.
