After the death of my 80w Weller Soldering Station, it was time to look at options. Buying another Weller or a Hakko was not on the cards due to financial restrictions so I looked at AliExpress and Amazon for a cheap well-reviewed item. This lead me to the discovery of the Kaiweets KOT-963. The KOT963 is a "simple" analogue soldering station but it packs enough heat for even the most demanding hobby jobs. Hopefully, I will cover the most important features of my new soldering setup in this short video!

This vid comes at a good time as I’m looking for my first soldering station. Would you reckon something like this would be a good all-rounder for a first station, or should I go for something simpler/something from a better known brand?

I really would recommend this as it has everything you need to get started and it's reviews (long term as well) have been very positive. I did a fair bit of research before making this purchase as money is very tight right now.
