The Best Builds for the Combat Blade 

Here I am, like an invis zealot with knife, to save your game and hand. KeepSwinging mod allows you to bind any button to spam light attacks. Highly customizable, very good for this build.

Never thought it would happen to me... last couple of months I have needed an RSI pillow to save my hands.

Keepswinging sadly does absolutely nothing on my game, it shows the icon and lights up when i use inputs but has no effect on attacks :,( @@guffi00

Once you break this and play ping pong with coherency with the group and elites you hit zen and prioritize your team over the horde and just kill everything. The hardest part I had was concentrating on returning to the group. Now I get people who are like where is the zealot as I come running up to them as they finish. Or dash off so fast that I run I to a group of shotgunners around a corner and proceed to blow each one up as the group catches up. Now it’s just paying attention to the stealth disablers. Like I love staying around the group and backstabbing anything around the team. But know when I have to dash and kill a distant target. Which then turns into stabbing as much as I can back to the group.

@@guffi00 Hey man, any tips on using the mod? I got it but it just doesnt work. It is there in game and the interface shows but no matter what keybindings or settings I try nothing works :/ I left a query on Nexus mods but no word on it in a month.

Am I the only one disagreeing this?

Haven't tried the smoke yet and the only reason I thought to use them were snipers and gunner firing lines....

@@MorteWulfe Well they'll work great on gunner firing lines. The gunners lose target, no longer hit or suppress you and then just run away and hide until you come out of smoke

Honestly, it was the holidays meaning I only had tiny windows of time alone to record the lines so I burned through them super quickly. I slurred through some words here and there but I was happy with how it turned out overall considering how much of it was done in a single, hurried take.

Except the combat blade has you running fast and dodging far with any mobility roll whereas the damage modifiers make a significant difference to your DPS, especially when dealing with armour (which you can easily do, albeit less effectively than more specialised weapons, of course). Are you really going to feel that +0.09% sprint speed? Are you going to get flattened by an overhead because your already insane dodge distance is now 1.8% shorter? Are you going to run out of dodges because your max dodge limit of 5 is now only at a mediocre dodge limit of 5? I'm not going to argue that I'm some sort of Darktide savant, and obviously it's a co-op game so everyone is free to ignore min/maxing and play how they want, but I know how numbers work. I'd understand the argument if you were proposing that the combat blade should only be used for traversing the map so that you can use something else to deal damage, like a Veteran with a ranged build, but why would you dump damage stats when you're relying on it for damage? Why would you dump your base Damage modifier when it's multiplied by First Target? This is a very strange take that isn't processing for me. Is your argument that you won't be spending the vast majority of your time dealing damage? What else are you doing? Running in circles to draw fire?

I don't know how "two" made it into the script but I noticed the mistake the moment I went to my Tactical Axe to get the video for it. I would've fixed the mistake for any other weapon. Not the Tactical Axe.

Sorry if the post was a little mean. I did try to humour it up a bit in case I got chastised for it. I do love the content man. It's gotta be tough committing to the voice... But it really does increase the comedic value. And yeah fuck that half speedy-assed piece of shit. Tomahawks and other such tactical axes need to be better. No excuses.

Funny you should say this, I actually made a video entirely about the combat blade filled with clips of soloing all the objectives, saving allies, and clutching runs. It's one of the best team-support weapons due to its unique ability to fully exploit the Zealot's invisibility.
