I get sent A LOT of stuff to review. Most of it is good. Some of it is terrible. On rare occasions it's something incredible, and this Meike drop in filter mount adapter is one of those pieces of gear that changes my whole setup. In short, I love this thing. It's versatile, well built, and genuinely makes my life easier as a hybrid content creator.

Thank you for your video. I was not aware of this type of adapters and I found the idea quite interesting. Since I am shooting with a Fujifilm camera, I searched for similar products compatible with Fuji (and other brands) and I came across Kolari Vision magnetic clip-in filters. I found a nice review by Todd Dominey and there were also useful comments. Thanks again for your review.

I am a newbie, and I bought a Canon M50 and the Meike drop in filter, I also bought the CPL filter and not sure how one would use it. Looking for examples, thanks

Try using it in front of water or something with a reflection.

Do you get any colour shift in the VND? Was looking at getting the Canon RF to PL and the RF to EF mount as I find the Canon version has way to much colour shift for me.

It has a bit, but less than the external VND I normally use. I think the vlogging footage shows it the best. That’s straight out of camera, untouched colour.

Does the clear filter need to be used when shooting photos indoors or outdoors?

Yes. If not, there’s a hole there that will let dust into the camera and sensor.

Interesting item, Scott. Couple of quick questions please. Is the adaptor invisible, electronically-speaking? I mean does it pass full info between the camera and lens in both directions? Secondly, what sort of weather sealing is there, if any? Both between the adaptor and the front and rear mounts but also where the filter carrier slots in? I would be worried about a gap so close to the sensor that could let in dust and/or moisture. Many thanks for the review.

It is electronically invisible. Full information from lens to camera to lens. It has no official wether sealing. There’s no rubber on either mounting surface and none in the filter slot either. The way I see it, it’s roughly the same as using a non wether sealed lens.

@@Scott_Graham Thanks Scott. I use many different cameras, most without weather sealing so it would not be a problem for me, but I was just interested. And as always, I really enjoy your videos and have been a subscriber of your channel for ages.
